WindyShores and hikerjim, This is a post from 15yrs ago by Lee who is a Pediatrician. He had the same trouble and ended up having a Nissan Fundoplication surgery to fix his GERD. It is a very informative post about his journey with GERD and afib. Deanby Dean - AFIBBERS FORUM
hikerjim, Many of us, including me, have suffered afib connected to the GERD, Hernia, Loose Lower Esophagus Spinctur (LES) route. Here is a post from Jackie in 2004 that will enlighten you. Many of us suspect our afib, PAC triggers are caused by different foods and stomach issues like lying on our left side etc. Finally a Cardiologist, Dr Sanjay Gupta, explains in excellent detail the anatomical relationship between the stomach, heart and palpitations and PAC's and importantly what to do about it. Even Carey will be impressed with this one... Deanby Dean - AFIBBERS FORUM
Excellent YouTube info on everything about natto food especially if you are a newbie wanting to try it. I have been eating it since 2005. Deanby Dean - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
G'day Joe, Nattokinase has sort of come to a dead end. Big pharma can't make money out of it as it is a "natural" product so there is no money around for large scale studies of it. We can only rely on very small scale studies and here say which is not good enough. Personally I won't touch nattokinase supplements as I don't trust the different manufactures of it.by Dean - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Steve Carr update: Dietary protocol that eliminated Afib and Ectopics You older afibbers on this forum will remember Steve Carr’s very successful dietary protocol that has eliminated his Afib and Ectopics for 8yrs. He has just updated it again and has very detailed useful information that would be of interest for any afibber trying to eliminate or reduce afib by dietary means. Deanby Dean - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Que I assume your talking about nattokinase supplements? I have been eating natto food since early 2005. I have eaten 50g every second day since then. I had a blood test just before I started eating natto in 2005 so I can give you a before and after look at my platelets over 18 yrs as follows: 2005…. 165…...Range 150 - 400 2021…. 163 Other blood tests over that time showed the sameby Dean - AFIBBERS FORUM

Well, it’s now 14 months since my Jack Russell dog “Tim” was given 1 to 3 months to live in September 2021. You can see the detailed 1st post bottom of this page. Joe, Yes, there are pockets of research scientists around the world searching for the actual cause of PAF rather than treating the symptoms. Looks like they are always battling for funding. Who wants to find the cause and cure of PAF when at the moment it is such a fantastic money spinner for the medical profession and drug companies?? Latest interesting research (very technical though) from Oxford University. Lance and Pam, I have been giving Tim the frozen natto, 15g or a heaped teaspoon full every morning. This is approx. a third of a 50g frozen pack of natto. The dogs in the research paper were all small dogs like Tim and were given 10g natto. If you have a bigger dog I suppose you would give more but as there is no research it is up to you to decide. Thought I would share this with you as many of you have pet dogs. My dog “Tim”, a Jack Russell X Corgi was diagnosed with terminal acute Lymphoma last September and given 1 to 3 months to live. I haven't posted for a while. I'm still going strong after 16 years of natto food. No afib at all since then and very few PAC'S. Just what the average person experiences. In all my years on this forum this is the best technical description of afib I have ever come across . The credit for finding this should go to poster Colindo (Colin) in New Zealand as he emailed it to me. It is written for school kids but is more relevant to “old farts” like us. Ghost, I had the same positional problems with afib and pacs as you and many others. These are a couple of old posts of mine for your info. I would definitely suggest you see a Gastro and have a 24hr pH study and if you can wrangle it a 24hr Holter monitor at the same time. This would nail any relationship with reflux and afib/pacs. Steve, Found this 15 year old post I put up on the forum. More or less says it all. Do you think massive overdosing of Ca in early childhood as they did in the 1960's leads to afib in later life?
