I cannot access that site, you have to join, anyway, I have been taking xeralto for the last 4 years every day and i got a stroke a year ago May. I did read that Xeralto and Apixiban were fast tracked. Nothing in medicine is a sure thing.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for your reply McHale, I think some of my problem is I just don't drink enough water, at least thats what the Docs tell me. I was working outside cutting my lawn, I took a lot of bumps in the back of my property, so maybe that and not enough water, also my BP was probably a little high just did me in. Oh well, I am not too bad, I can still do pretty much of what i have always done.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
McHale: Yes, have been on 15 mg. of Xarelto for the last 3 years, perhaps the dosage is because, I am not a big person. I am 5' 2. and weigh about 125 lbs. and of course I am 90 years old. How did the stroke leave you, and are you OK now? Lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am concerned about upping my dosage of Xarelto to 20 mg. from 15 mg., I really don't know this new EP very well. I do get some bruising if I get hit, or doing something that can cause a bruise. I believe Hans L. had one as well. I am 90 now and in pretty good shape otherwise, just this AF.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been taking xarelto every single day since I went into permanent AF 3 years ago, yet I had a stroke last year at the end of May. I was taking 15 mg., I saw an EP today an he upped my dose of Xarelto to 20 mg., wondered why I got a stroke when taking Xarelto., I have wondered about that as well. Has anyone gotten a stroke while on a blood thinner. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I became hyper thyroid back in 1993, at that time they nuked my thyroid (they did leave a little in), I then had to take a thyroid pill. I was feeling a little tried and in talking to the Paramisit he told me to take a little more thyroid pill, well at that time I did not have a computor and was stupid so I took a little more thyroid pills. Well, I became hyper and went into AF. So, be carefulby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mark Cuban, some will know who he is, has started a company "Cost Plus Drugs.Com" his compay is selling drugs much cheaper than what the drug companies are doing. He has a listing of all the drugs and their costs, Xeralto and Eliquis are not on it right now he is working on it. There is a whole boatload of drugs that he has listed. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am not telling anyone to stop doing what they are doing. I am only stating what has happened to me, Xarelto did not protect me completely, these new blood thinners have been fast loaded into our life. AF is exploding in our country, hopefully AF can be helped with some of the new technology that is being explored.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pradaxa has had 1,000 fatalities, I had AF for about 20 years, I would get episodes of AF not to often in the early years then started getting them more often, but I always went back into NsR. I have always had thyroid problems during this time, however I became hyper again and went into permanent AF about 3 years ago. During those 20 years I never took a blood thinner, since going iby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan: I had Graves Disease a number of years ago and had my Thyroid nuked (didn' t know any better in those days). I still have some thyroid tissue left and I have to take a Thyroid pill. I do make a lot of soups making my broth from either soup bones or chicken, glad it worked for you, never heard that before. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anneh: I first went into AF in 1996, I was paraoxymal, like you, the first years I would only go into AF a few times a year. I always went back in NSR without any drugs that went on until I started getting AF more often, so the doctor put me on Propapanone that was good until abut 3 years ago, like you, my doctor felt OK with my thyroid, my TSH was very, very low and I went into AF and didnby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
miso is usually made from soy, anything with soy gives me aura migraines, They say if it is fermented so it is ok, but soy is not a healthy product so i stay away from all of it. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I believe the best diet is the Mediterranean diet, Meat, fish and veggies, fruit, beans. My B12 has always been a little on the high side. I couldn't eat liver, yuck. Whatever works for you that is fine, but I eat all kinds of veggies along with my protein.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

::" Once I understood that most vegetables can’t be absorbed and are void of nutrients""" That is one of the weirdest statements I have seen. I wonder if Vegitarians have stomach issues, I have a large garden and have eaten lots of veggies all my life and I never have stomach problems, never. I have thyroid and AF problems which I believe to be from my DNA, my mother hby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
When I got AF only a few times a year, I knew right away when I was in AF, I could feel the strong beats and had to rest until it stopped. Now that I went into permanent AF a few years ago, I don't feel it at all. So how about that. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
You quote a study by Astra Zeneca, what else do you except? Dr. B says "When any crucial biochemical pathway is poisoned, adverse effects are bound of occur. So George what is your conclusion? Seems like nothing for sure. I had a cat and when I came home from the hospital and after 3 weeks of being home, my cat got Saddle Thrombosis, a stroke, the Vet said there was nothing we could do for her and that she was in a lot of pain, so I had to put her down. She was my friend for 15 years, but it is so strange that we both got a stroke. George do youby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey said: (I think the the right-sided numbness is pretty much proof you did have a stroke). You are probably right, I only know that I had my right hand on the controls of my mower all the time and I was very shook up. Lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had Paraoxymal AF for about 20 years, the last years I got AF more frequently but I always went back into normal sinus rhythm until the last 3 years when I went into permanent AF. I took Xeralto during those 3 years but I had a stroke the end of May of this year, my right arm/hand and my right foot have some numbness and a picky feeling. I can use them however, I do exercises to help, my balby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: If I didn't have AF, I would not have had a stroke. I had an Ep, took a blood thinner when in permanent AF, exercised, I have always ate quite well, no junk food, raised a lot of my veggies/fruit. I never had an ablation, so maybe that would have helped me. However, I know of a few people that have had ablations and still got a stroke. So, the whole point being is we need moreby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey You said the following I also don't think you need to be calling an ambulance for afib, even with a rate of 184. Nobody dies of afib. They die of strokes because they didn't get proper care for afib, but not afib itself. Which makes me wonder, are you receiving proper care? Are you seeing an EP? If so, why don't you have a PIP solution in your pocket? As you probablyby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am almost 90 years of age and I have had a garden for most of my adult life, eating many veggies fresh and freezing them. There are all kinds of things that are said on the Net, i again say it, that are not true, as proven by you, by saying what you just did.by Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

I am very sorry to hear of Hans' passing, he was a wonderful and helpful person. I have a couple of his books, he used to have a news letter which we could get online at his site, i looked forward to it and really appreciated Hans writings, we all learned a lot from him. Thank you Shannon for letting us know. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan is what you posted the name of the supplement? Do you get them off of Amazon? How many grams of Mushrooms do those supplements have. Hope you are doing well. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
500 grams is about a Pound, so if one doesn't eat that many mushrooms/day, maybe 1/2 that amount then this program wouldn't work?by Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I live near a small town in Michigan on 5 acres, air/water is pretty clean, I am in permanent AF. You can blame the air, food all kinds of things, yet people living near you may not have AF. There are some things that really do cause AF, for me it was hyper thyroid and genetics, that is pretty definite.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well Susan since I have been getting my Xeralto from Isreal I am not spending that much, so I don't qualify for OOP. Thanks a bunch for my savings. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks George, I am doubtful now after reading that an Ambulatory BP monitor would be completely accurate. I am taking my BP at home, it isn't the same all the time, sometimes a little high and sometimes in a good range, so the one time my BP is taken at the doctors office could be high and they go by that.
