John, Excellent report. I'm so glad it went very well for you. My experience on 1/27/15 was very similar to yours---awesome. I think Dennis said it perfectly---"Welcome to the Dr. Natale fan club!" When you have a choice, why not choose the best? That's what I did also! Best wishes for continued NSR. Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Congrats, Nancy. Here's wishing you many more years of NSR!by kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great news, Shannon! Thanks for keeping us all informed. Best wishes to John B. Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Congrats Smackman & Barb! I'm hoping to follow in your footsteps with prolonged NSR! Best wishes. Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'll try to keep this one shorter than my earlier updates. Since identifying the gallbladder issue in the second week after my 1/27/15 ablation----and then eating a more gallbladder friendly diet----the tachy episodes that occurred after irritating the gallbladder have subsided. I haven't had any additional tachy episodes since cutting out fatty/greasy/fried/cheesy foods. All of thby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great news, Jim. Keep up the NSR! Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Glad it went ok, Barb. Glad that your are back home safely. Here's wishing you great results! Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Best wishes, Barb! I'm praying for a positive turnout for you! Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken & Jackie, Sounds like great advice from two very smart people.....I'll sit on the sidelines a little longer.....and then ease into it with the light stuff. Thanks for chiming in..... Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks John, for the advice on exercising. I'll certainly take it into consideration. I did some very light biking (15 min) followed by very light walking on the treadmill (30 min) afterwards. Heart remained stable throughout.....but I really wasn't stressing it too much. I'll take it easy for another week and then begin to ease into it. Thanks for the well wishes. John, Don't worry about your 2/26 date with Dr. Natale. Look forward to it! I've said many times that my experience with him, his staff, and St. David's Medical Center was fantastic. You will be in great hands. If anyone can help you, Dr. Natale can. I hope your recovery post ablation is equal to or better than mine. Thanks for replying about your gallbladder experiencby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
OK, another week has passed since ablation on 1/27/15. If you read the first two updates, you know I was having some minor infrequent blips that I attributed to some sort of digestive problem. After seeing the doc and getting the ultrasound, they pronounced my gallbladder to have stones. Since the gallstone identification, I've eliminated all cheesy/greasy/fried foods and guess what--by kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy, I can't give you any advice........I'll just share my experiences. I took Tikosyn for 4 months......it appeared to keep me in NSR except during exercise.....which was a daily event for me. I would often convert back to NSR at the end of the day or during the night. I then took Flecainide for the next 8 months at varying doses.....started at 50mg twice daily, then 10by kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George. I read about that as I delved into this topic. However, most of the medical community articles I read don't believe in the cleanse for getting rid of gallstones. Here is the link and a portion of an article from the Mayo Clinic on the topic. What is a gallbladder cleanse? Is it an effective way to flush out gallstones? Answers from Michael F. Greetings, When I wrote my “one week update” last Tuesday, I told you that I had experienced two tachy episodes, both of which were following eating a meal…….Sunday night and Tuesday at lunch. After Tuesday, I made an appointment to discuss with my primary, which was scheduled for Wednesday at 9am. I didn’t eat much for dinner Tuesday night so I felt better Wednesday morning. Yea, for me, it was just my wife and I, so the hotel room worked out just fine. That might not be ideal for you, depending on how many family members you will have with you. If you don't already know about it, check out www.vrbo.com for house rentals. I've used it multiple times with great success for vacations/weekend getaways. Travis, Congrats on getting it scheduled. I'm sure it will go very well for you. Again, my experience with Dr. Natale, his staff and the personnel at St. David's was absolutely top-notch. I'm glad my description on this thread helped you. I assure you that you will be in very capable hands. Since the above posting, I've had a little tachy activity that I talked aboutby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Erich, I can only give you my opinion as it relates to my personal experience. You said you've only had one event in six months. Before I had my ablation 8 days ago, I was in afib every day, and at the end, for most of the day. As Smackman said, it is a progressive condition in that the more you have it, the more you are apt to get more.....the medical professionals like to sayby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
AJR1960, God bless you! I'll certainly join in with you to try to pray it away. As a new Natale ablatee (8 days ago), I wish you all the best. Sending positive thoughts your way. :-) Sincerely, Kenby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, Thanks for taking the time to write. First, good luck tomorrow with your TEE. Give yourself a break and get some rest!! I completely understand all of your aforementioned points. As I discussed with Shirley today, had the irregularity lasted longer, I would have taken the PIP flecainide. If I ever need to take it, it would be great if it provides calming to the rhythm.by kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Disappointing........by kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Greetings to all, I will try to keep this as short as possible. Since my ablation last Tuesday with Dr. Natale, heart rhythm has been perfect with two very specific exceptions that I will explain below. Soon after awakening following the ablation, I began feeling that special rythmic pulse in my carotid artery. What a joy to experience after the hundreds of times I've felt the afibby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM

John, Congrats on your upcoming ablation. I hope you have the same awesome experience I did in Austin. Dr. Natale, his staff, and the staff at St. David's will make you feel comfortable and tend to your every need. I wish you great success with ablating your afib.. Dear friends, Just a brief update---I made it home last night. Even though we drove from Florida to Austin in a single day, we decided to break the return trip up in two days. They said I should stop every couple of hours to stretch my legs because of the catheter entry sites in the groin----apparently not good to be in a seated position in a car for an extended period. We left Friday morniby kls5834 - AFIBBERS FORUM
