Reminder/Awareness Alert for Staying Healthy in Cold and Flu Season This is not new info, but since we are currently faced with some extremely virulent, new strains of viruses and other bugs, I’m offering a reminder on the effectiveness of the patented, liposomal/lipospheric form of Vitamin C. There are many previous posts on the topic, but since we have many new readers and now, this new wavby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Lance - thanks for this. I've been taking taurine for a long time and feel that it helps contribute to my overall good health - in general; and especially for eye health as I have macular degeneration (ARMD) that has been stable for a long time thanks to my retinal specialist and his recommendation for a variety of supportive nutrients. Reminder to new readers: There is a reportby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Liz - Always an important topic. That book was published in 2001. Dr. Kensey was involved with the pioneering organization he founded (Rheologics) in the fields of hemodynamics and interventional cardiology... and I recall that Dr. Ralph Holsworth had worked with him in that regard. Dr. H. was developing his form of nattokinase - the profibrinolytic enzyme. He always had good things toby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Carola - The recommendation for the colonoscopy prep that I found useful is Go-Lytely... it contains electrolytes and definitely helped prevent afib in my case. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carola - Just FYI In the early years of my Afib saga, I had exactly what you are describing. The Internist I had at the time told me to eat a protein and healthy fat snack about an hour before I went to bed. Apparently, my problem was also low blood sugar (glucose) ... especially, if I ate something too sugary or carby at dinner which helped set up the predicted crash later on. . hwkmn05 and cirenepurzelot - thanks for your comments... I have more to add and it's my intention to offer that soon. Jackieby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Liz - First let me comment that I am very sorry you are having all these difficulties. I can understand your frustration and concern. Six months after my 2015 touch-up ablation (post LAA isolation in 2014), I was able to reduce the 5 mg BID dose of Eliquis to 2.5 mg BID. I remain on that as advised by Dr. Natale mainly because of my age. All of my stats were OK. The nose bleeds haby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've taken generous doses Omega 3's for many years...cut back slightly when I started Eliquis but have never noted a correlation or provocation of Afib. As George notes, I also use CoQ10 to ensure mitochondrial function as I age. Consider that there can be impurities or residues in some brands of fish oil along with a potential for rancidity. Contaminants such as mercury, arseniby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotehwkmn05 What is truly surprising about this subject is, the lack of interest. You cant tell me that everyone has a perfect smile with no gum issues, especially my generation. Why is it that we have to do unending searches for these simple yet radical reports? One report I had heard was the Dental Flossing stat from the ADA. Daily flossing could add up to 3 years to your life expectancy. I doby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
keeferbdeefer - I've had three Natale ablations... spaced out over time... 2003, 2014, 2015... and post-procedure, I had very little to none ectopic activity...with the exception of the one in 2014 when I went back into Aflutter while on my flight back home. I was electrocardioverted soon after arriving home and once again, no trouble with ectopics as far as I was aware. In about a weby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Liz - yes, I have some itchy skin bumps. These are not moles, but are new eruptions that began when I started taking Eliquis.... even with the half-dose I have them. Some become large and painful. I've found that a variety of essential oils...dabbed right on the bump takes away pain and itching but it can take a very long time for the lesion to disappear and even then, it leaves aby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Peggy... So good to see your posts and relevant reminders. As George mentions, managing those basic intracellular mineral electrolyte imbalances via ExaTest helped me greatly as I also was found to be high in IC calcium and low in magnesium... tracked to the typical instructions by gynecologists to menopausal women to be sure to take calcium supplements to help prevent bone loss. QuotejohnnyS Jackie, Are you also taking copper? I know that zinc can deplete copper and I remember Hans writing about the overall importance of copper Yes... copper is also on the list. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just FYI: The dosing of zinc may be highly individualized, but the retinal specialist I've seen for years because of signs of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) gave me a list of nutrients that he wanted to be sure were included in my daily eye health regimen... among those nutrients is 80 mg of zinc. I've taken zinc bisglycinate chelate for years without side effects. Jackby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Carola - As noted, my first Natale ablation (Cleveland) in 2003 lasted for 11 years. I didn't consider it a 'failure' and as Shannon so aptly explains, back then, those ablations didn't check for other potential trouble areas compared to the current practices. My second ablation with Dr. Natale was in 2014 in Texas followed by another 'touchup' about 7 mby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

The precaution for supplementing with potassium has always been that because the majority of afibbers are low in intracellular magnesium, it's important to replenish the magnesium by supplementation first... and then... and only then, begin adding potassium. Otherwise, extra potassium in the presence of low magnesium is known (and shown in studies) to cause AF rather than help prevent. Thiby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Hi Liz - I've taken PharmaGaba for many years... PRN/occasionally/as needed ...but at only a minor portion of the recommended dose for reducing anxiety and promoting sleep when I feel I'm too 'wired' to fall asleep sleep easily and remain asleep. It works quickly and leaves no 'drug-like' hangover effects in the morning. I learned about PG from a talk by Mby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Quotegmperf I have had similar experiences with healthcare providers during the time I have been on Eliquis. Perhaps not every provider needs to know about the Eliquis. I even had a dentist refuse a teeth cleaning because of Eliquis. I have a prescription for 5 mg Eliquis that I cut in half. Why pay for 2.5 mg tablets if they cost the same as 5 mg. Anne - Check this report on the bioavailablity of various forms of magnesium. When magnesium is in the chelated form... as in the patented (Albion) form, it offers the best success for not breaking down in the stomach acid environment and reaching target cells in that form; whereas, other non-chelated forms can combine with other elements and can then become less available or capable of enteriby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Liz - You can search online for Essential Oil of Oregano and toenail fungus .... While I've not had the experience personally, I had studied a lot when learning about the efficacy of essential oils at least 20 years ago. Hello Smackman! I'm so very pleased to see your progress in this battle. Good for you! Colin - To add support to the merits of using the enzyme, nattokinase, I’ll offer this brief history on my clot experience. Anti-Fib.... good point. I also had adrenal fatigue (aka burnout) that was found to promote afib. That effect often kicked in mid-morning if my day was hectic or overly stressful. I began treating for that and it made a big difference in the day-time stimulation of Afib. I continue to use adrenal support nutrients to ensure that I avoid adrenal issues. You're right, Liz... when I first started reading Dr. Davis... I was impressed but as time when on... there were numerous flaws in his messages about what the majority of functional medicine MDs use as dietary guidelines.
