Marty - I'll help you decipher what you need to know from the Strategy... you can email me if you like. You just have to keep in mind that for the most part, restoring or optimizing the electrolytes your body needs to function continually and properly takes time. It doesn't work like an "aspirin" effect... where 20 minutes later, the headache is gone. On the otherhand, theby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ralph – Discussions about postural and positional triggers of arrhythmia must include the vagus nerve and the GI is definitely involved. Numerous factors influence vagus nerve irritation. One consideration is to address your posture and sitting habits and the impact of sitting for hours at a time - as many do - working at a computer station…or your home desk or sitting scrunched on the coby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Liz - there is a huge difference between systemic alkalosis compared to what is being discussed here which is tissue alkalizing as a result of eating foods that metabolize to alkaline ash versus acid ash. This is not about the closely-controlled blood pH. Using the WW to obtain magnesium and bicarbonate...both of which are alkalinizing... would be no different that drinking the naturallly occuby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks Nancy for doing this. Soon, I intend to contribute clips from practitioners working with glucose management. The focus should be on the insulin response. That's the beauty of an eating style such as George's. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Coomo - It's important that you continue with the essential core electrolytes since ablation since ablation does nothing to support the need for those to ensure the energy that ensures NSR. Your magnesium at 400 mg may be too low... as most of us need 600-800 and often 1,000 mg daily. Experiment by adding slowly to your intake... add 100 mg for 4 - 5 days and then add another until you reby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy - I'd call the offices of potential FM practitioners and ask if they do testing for cortisol and if so, ask about the name of the test and what's involved. Perhaps begin with that Integrative doctor. The 24-hour urine collection test is preferred by many as being more reflective. Some doctors prefer to use the salivary collection over a 24-hour period as an initial indictoby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Adrian - Good to hear from you! The enhancing of digestive enzymes by supplementing does not mean you'll stop producing your own. It's just replacing or an assist to what we lack for various reasons... aging is primary, stress is another huge factor. Natural stomach acid production by the parietal cells in the stomach depends on zinc and vitamin B12 plus other vitamins. Catby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Ron - I was concerned when your name didn't come up lately. Sorry to see this post. I know how alarming the high HR can be... mine used to regulary approach 220 -230...so I know what you were feeling. Nancy - I’ll try to answer your questions. First, let’s back up and re-examine the previous statement I made about not using WW solely for the magnesium intake. Actually, the magnesium content is exactly why Erling came up with the WW formula – as another (and easy) intake source of magnesium ions… and along with that, also came the alkalizing benefit. Drinking water to which the WW conceby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Siri - waking up in panic in the morning is a classic sign of low blood sugar. You might want to assess what you are eating in the evening meal or late evening snack that contains starchy, sugary carbs. If that's the case, then there is often a glucose handling problem involving overproduction of insulin and then a drop in glucose as the night wears on... which can result in panic-like aby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy - You have many topics to address. Dr. Baroody observes that potassium chloride is the natural result of food metabolism in the stomach and the reason why potassium (and minerals and B vitamins) can be low is because stomach acid facilitates making those minerals in food available. I'm sure you are correct that your digestive problems are rooted in not enough stomach acid butby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
What you may not know about stomach acid Observations by Dr. Baroody (Alkalize or Die) Hydrochloric acid (HCl) * Is essential for life * Is the only acid our body produces – other acids are by-products of metabolic processes and are eliminated quickly * The decline of HCl begins around age 40 – sometimes sooner – even seen in infants * Keeps us alive by maintaining proper acid/alkaliby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy - the assessment of cortisol is a complicated one. Depending on the testing, sometimes cortisol can be elevated inappropriately at one time but deficient in another. Hi Nancy – First a little history on how this WW (magnesium bicarbonate water) recipe came to be… thanks to Erling Waller who thought it would be convenient to have a source of this highly bioavailable form of magnesium.
