Sorry Liz, it is true...go back to the archives and read what Fran posted about the free-glutamate properties of various cooked foods including tomatoes. She gave us our first lessons on this topic. It's documented in the MSGtruths website and other websites about free glutamates. Those who get headaches are especially vulnerable... many websites offer that information. Just google it.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Maka - Start by reading (at least) the introduction to Conference Room 72 and then assess your dietary intake of sodium (salt) versus the potassium you get from food (best) and supplements. Most often, the ectopics are an indication that the ratio of sodium to potassium is not in the idea ratio - minimum one to four (sodium to potassium). Jill - yes.. the topical forms or transdermal delivery of magnesium seem to help add magnesium without adding to the bowel tolerance burden. Loose stools are not okay. The report on Magnesium Absorption discusses the soft stool stage as an indicator of tissue saturation. Remember that it can take a long time to tolerate increasing doses of the magnesium. Go slowly. Hi Larry - that's good news and I'm glad you stuck with it to reach your optimization. Now your challenge backing off slightly to your "Goldilocks" dosing. Quite often afibbers need to go much higher than your dose - but as you undoubtedly know with increased magnesium intake, the bowel tolerance factor comes into play. Hi Louise - As Doris Rapp says, “we live in a toxic world”….We do the best we can with what we have available. To obsess over the obscure ‘what if's’ causes us more harm from stress than probably the actual, minor exposure. Eggs from factory farming are probably the worst.
