Sue - as noted in the observational report: Ablation doesn't correct or restore any nutritional deficiencies that allowed the AF to occur in the first place. It just prevents the signals from progressing to AF. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
James - I had the ablation on Medicare. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes - Ken - please read The Strategy Report that I sent you...print it out and read it several times to grasp the whole concept of what stabilizes the heart... having to do with magnesium, potassium and the other neutraceuticals that help support or sustain NSR. You really have to do the homework and it can take a while to get it straight in your head. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Don - no. That's not enough experience. You could check to see what Dr. Natale's schedule looks like for either Akron or Metro Health in Ohio... That would be the ultimate choice; otherwise, Dr. Tchou at the CCF would be an appropriate option as well. check here: Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tibbar - I understand how the pacemaker works. What I was asking was is it doing any pacing at all for you? You have the log checked periodically, no? Then if it is kicking in periodically due to low HR it would be interesting to know that and how often. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken - I have those references in the Observational Report that I sent you. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Cyndie - Sorry to hear about your autoimmune thyroiditis. Are you completely gluten free? If not, that should be your immediate step. Those working with this problem find that avoiding gluten/gliaden proteins entirely reduces the antibodies quickly. I will share with you that during my very long journey of hypothyroid problems, Synthroid didn't do me any favors. I was on it for 10by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
James - my thought is and always has been, that until your quality of life is severely affected by afib, ablation can wait. Only you know how much your life is impaired. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken - as far as potassium intake goes, this electrolyte gets used quickly and it's one that needs to be optimized continually by diet. Some find they need to supplement to get enough. Glad you passed the stress test. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Very interesting non-lab experiment with your feline friends, George. I don't recall what you learned about your local water but I do recall that Erling's was devoid of magnesium...so your careful dosing is most likely a boon to their health. You know that magnesium helps asthmatic humans. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Tibbar - When they check your pacemaker, what type of pacing time is it recording for you? ie, what percentage if at all? Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Alex - here are the Interpretive Guidelines from EXAtest that Erling so kindly took the time to provide us. You can see that the evaluation is far more than magnesium plus it's all intracellular measurement. The ratio between sodium and potassium is particularly relevant because for us to stay in NSR, not only do we need optimal magnesium but also the required amount of potassium not onlyby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Isabelle - It was explained to me by my cardiologist that during AF events, there is less efficient pumping of blood out of the heart to lungs, brain, body, etc. I recall that during the onset of some events, I would become both breathless and lightheaded. The remedy was to bend over from the waist for more blood flow to the head and then just take it easy and not try to push by doing much ofby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Erling - Homeostasis. The body's innate wisdom always tries to restore homeostasis or the correct balance in every cells and organ system to as close to ideal as possible with the nutrients available. Without the basic nutrients to do that, that's often not possible, but when compensatory measures can be taken, the body will manage that automatically. In the case of the AF selfby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve - I am saying...be patient and I'm really glad you are back on the glycinate form. Make sure it says on the label it's by the Albion patented process; if not, you risk having the same dissociation issue. I'm reviewing my very old notes on a mineral discussion and absorption. The chloride is probably the problem... too much... and you must realize that the magnesium salt (by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
James - it sounds as if you are doing very well with the food and supplement regimens; however, there can always be a nutrient absorption isssue.... meaning that you can be taking all the right supplements but for a variety of reasons, you aren't absorbing/assimilating them so you are getting the benefits. That's not an easy thing to find or correct when you do find it. I will commenby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mark - if you live near Toronto. (I'm guessing), you should consider consulting with Atul Verma, MD, FRCPC Southlake Regional Health Center Staff Electrophysiologist University of Toronto, Newmarket, Toronto, Canada 905 953 7917 Dr. Verma is a colleague closely associated with Electrophysiologist, Andrea Natale who is consider the best EP in the United States. John - while your heart is recovering, it is said to be in a state of irritability and ectopy and AF are not uncommon. These symptoms can go on for several months post-ablation. On this website, we suggest that those ablated keep using the same electrolyte protocols that we recommend in the managing of the AF symptoms. I had no problems with ectopy or AF post ablation as I went right back onby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
James - You really have to be consistently dairy and gluten free for several months and the benefits may not show up right away. This has to do with inflammation caused by certain foods. If you continually get ectopics after meals, then there is a high probability you have a food sensitivity. Do you eat just fresh, whole foods? No packaged foods? And for digestive enzymes, do they includeby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Liz - I'm all for income and profit. It's the greed and irresponsibility that I resent - ie making money in spite of the fact (for instance) by making people ill. A classic example is the money involved in artificial (diet) sweeteners.... that have now proven to be neurotoxic and help contribute to the obesity epidemic... These sweeteners were introduced to the consumer as healtby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tony - when Louise was on her initial trial of Tikosyn, she was told to keep her potassium levels up. If you haven't been doing that, perhaps you'll find some relief. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mark - if you are indeed, vagally mediated, then the sotolol will not be the drug of choice for you. I was started on sotalol and it worsened me as well. Then I discovered Han's website and learned that vagals won't be helped by this drug. My experience is that not all cardiologists know how to manage AF...testament to that fact is that so many prescribe sotalol as the drug of choiceby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken - by law, potassium supplements have to be in 99 mg limits...unless they are professional grade products...or the NOW brand potassium gluconate bulk powder that most of us use for the very reason you mention... swallowing all the pills. You can crush them, though. The limit is a safe guard because too much potassium can be dangerous and probably happens a lot quicker than overdosing withby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Laura. You have enough to worry about now with the ablation coming up so quickly. After you are home and stabilized, you can investigate the K2 MK7 since you'll be on Coumandin for quite some time, post ablation. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank's Adrian.... your comments echo what's in the post I just offered on the Dumbing Down of Society. Everyone is too naive when it comes to trusting that "they" have our best interests at heart.... the interests lie in making profits and at the expense of public health. As you so correctly observe, few people have the luxury of living on a self-sustaining farm. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Charles - if you haven't requested my Observational Report - send me an email and I'll forward one to you. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Larry - Wondering if you pushed up the dosing of the magnesium too much and too quickly....my report hasn't been out that long and the ramping up of dosing should take several months so that you replete but also avoid the diarrhea issue. Keep working on it; looks like you are making progress. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
This awareness post dovetails conveniently to Erling's current post on "Western Civilization"...but in reality, it's all areas affected by industrialization, chemicals, environmental toxins...and it's both East and West and all areas inbetween and Afib is just one of the consequences. There's much more to consider. Jackie Play the video first... Then proceed to the other links if this topic inby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken - The article seems to be on the right path. We ,here with afibbers, try to be very aware of the additives, colorings, perservatives, and 'bad' sugars used in most sports drinks. Actually, most aren't considered health drinks, all things considered. But, that said, when you are sweating copious amounts of fluids and losing electrolytes, these drinks can certainly be betterby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken - you know, potassium is an absolutely wonderful and needed addition to everyone's diet. I'm not a fan of 2 bananas daily, but if it works for you..that's great. Many energy deficits are the result of inadequate potassium and, as it is with magnesium, it's very easy to become deficient in either or both. Keep up your good work and I hope you continue to progress to wellby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
