Aldona!!! How wonderful to see your post. I am so pleased for your progress and if anyone deserves a wonderful life after all your troubles, it's you. Thanks for letting us know. I love that you are able to use food for all of your nutrition. My best wishes to you for a long and healthy life in NSR. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve - you are wasting your breath talking to cardiologists about supplements. Most people are deficient in magnesium; especially afibbers. They are often also very low in potassium. Both contribute to unstable rhythm and afib. There are other nutrients that can also be deficient that help support arrhythmias. If you haven't ordered Hans' book... Toward a Cure, then do so immediaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jim - I typically recommend the Jarrow Ribose that you can get through Hans' iHerb website. Checkthe label to be sure it is the patented version by BioEnergy. The dose needed is 5 grams twice a day. They provide a scoop that yields 2.2 grams so a bit more than double that scoop would be one dose. For people with other issues like fibromyalgia, the dosing is 5 grams 3 times a day forby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
LeAnn - GNC would not be my choice for selecting any supplements. You can look there for info but I'd suggest buying the more reliable brands that can be found from Hans' weblink and iHerb. Go there and check out the Super Enzymes by NOW brand. That one has both betaine HCl and bile salts... use those ingredients as an example of what an effective digestive enzyme product provides.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Diane - just another comment on the pre-diabetic diet etc.... Please consider getting Dr. Rosedale's book. He has an extensive history of working with all stages of diabetes... pre and those on insulin as well. He's been able to get people off insulin. Terri - I agree with Adrian, it might be something in the probiotic or that particular blend. I'd stop using it. Also, consider that one of the symptoms of H.pylori is diarrhea. One thing you definitely do not want to have is diarrhea for any amount of time because of the loss of the electrolytes. Try some Pepto-Bismol. The active ingredient is bismuth subsalicylate and that was initiby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Teri -You're very welcome. I'm pleased the stomach acid benefits/information was useful to you. You certainly can use small amounts of betaine hydrochloric acid even with vegetarian meals...just be sure the dose is small... like 50 mg and the meal is at least a couple cups of veggies....with some healthy fat...like olive oil. I would not use the HCl with a very small snack. The rulby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sue - I agree... Has anyone determined who funded the study? Obviously, tolerance of coffee and/or caffeine is an individual thing but I do think a blanket statement that is quite possibly misleading for some if not most afibbers is, indeed, misleading. I had recently posted that another effect of coffee was the diuretic effect - depleting important B vitamins and also that caffeine consby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
On the grapefruit juice and statins.... when I was looking at Zocor side effects, I did note that it says if one consumes large quantities of more than 1 quart a day of grapefruit juice, there can be some blunting of the efficacy of the statin. <; As for adding limonene, it would be easy enough just to use a few drops of a pure, organic, steam distilled essential oil of lemon... ie, d-limoneby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
LeAnn.... I can see your dilemma. I'd be using supplemental bile salts to help with fat breakdown or a digestive enzyme that contains the bile salt. That may help in that area of the missing gallbladder. Definitely, do not go for diarrhea as that is counterproductive; you'll lose all the electrolytes. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
To Dick's comments, I'd add that Hans developed his PAC Tamer recipe just for this specific reason. Very often, low potassium causes ectopy. Tom - I asked that very same question when, out of frustration with escalating afib events, I was considering ablation in the Spring of '03. My thought then was, 'what if' eventually, I need some other procedure for my heart and when it's noted that I have had ablation, they'd say ... Bill - I had one Natale ablation. Many people who have had unsuccessful ablations elsewhere have gone to Natale for the 'fix' and in many cases, he has been successful. One ablatee told me that his previous two ablations were just not done sufficiently to burn all the obvious potentials... there was nothing obscure, they were just not found in the two ablations, so Natale's workby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mike - as far as 'undoing' the scar tissue... that's not the case. The burns destroy the gap junctions so the signals can't go from cell to cell to cell. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Diane - with low potassium levels, then look at your dietary intake of sodium. Ideally, and depending on which expert you follow, your potassium level should be 4 or 5 parts to one part sodium. Most people are very high in sodium and low in potassium, by comparison. But it still can be a kidney problem where there is potassium wasting. . LeAnn - not to be difficult, but a 2.0 magnesium level is ....what? a serum measuement? This is not reflective whatsoever of your intracellular levels and that's where magnesium functions for heart rhythm stability. Rather than worry about more testing, just start slowly increasing your magnesium glycinate intake until you reach a bowel reaction that promotes two soft bowel movements a daby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Welcome, Diane... I'm wondering if you have any recent labs of blood work showing magnesium, potassium and calcium. While a serum blood level for magnesium is virtually worthless, if that is recorded as low, it may be an indicator that you are also low inside the cells where it functions. Bill - how much magnsium and potassium did you take daily...and did you ever have your serum potassium measured? It's often difficult to achieve optimal intracellular magnesium stores when taking drugs as well as they are such depletes of magnesium. I'm wondering if you were persistent with enough magnesium to really make a difference? Forgive me if you've posted your saga.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for posting this, Bill. Very interesting. It's not just statins, though, For some drugs, one should not consume any amount grapefruit juice. It's the the bioflavonoids such as quercetin and naringen that cause interference. Before consuming grapefruit juice, consider all the drugs on the list that are have this complication and compare to what you use. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Cyndie - The bowel issues you had most likely was related more to the stressful events since among the first reactions to extreme stress is that deep sense of fear and the body's reaction is to dump anything that would impede getting away from the proverbial saber tooth tiger, so you were right on cue. Gregg and all - my impression about heavy exercise post ablation... at least within the 6-8 week healing process is that since exercise generates free radicals, this just adds to the burden of inflammation that already exists due to the burn areas. ...ie, adding insult to injury.
