Debbie, I didn't have any ectopics after my ablation because I was optimal in magnesium, potassium and taurine before ablation and I began taking it again in the hospital once I could get up and move around. Hans reported he had some ectopy and they gave him additional potassium which seemed to help. I'd think that since Mike lost a good deal of fluid from the water-cooled catheterby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Debbie - that's good news about Mike and a good endorsement once again of Dr. Schwiekert. I love that he still is using his hands vs robotics but I can understand the radiation/lead apron issue. Roland - Las Vegas isn't all that far from either Austin TX or San Francisco, CA - both locations for Dr. Andrea Natale, top EP in this country if not the world. I'd consider contacting him for a consultation as soon as possible to see if you are an ablation candidate. The procedure isn't nearly as scary as cardiomyopathy or an EF of 30% so don't delay. Charlie - well, when you do consult with either a cardiologist and EP, definitely be upfront with them and tell exactly how much and for how long you've been using so they can rule out any other complications they've seen from that type of history. Louise - as you mentioned in your email, apparently Tikosyn tends to deplete potassium? Did they send you home with instructions to have your levels checked periodically? You can paint on liquid iodine; let it get under the nail- works for some people. Other solutions found effective are Oil of Oregano or Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE)...but this has to be diluted because full strength is too harsh for direct contact with skin. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pat - I'd just really push the probiotics. If you were successful killing the Candida the first time, hopefully, with the followup and continued use of probiotics, you should be able to bounce back from the a/b insult. I was unable to use hawthorn when I was trying various supplements. It either was too stimulating for my heart or it lowered my heart rate too much. It does lower blood pressure by dilating peripheral vessels. Since mine ran low, that probably was a conflict as well. Sheila - good for you! Depending on the degree of yeast overgrowth, it can take several months and several bottles of Candex to knock down the quantity of yeast.
