Liz - Did the hygienist call the instrument an ultrasonic scaler or "cavitron" ? That's been a common scaling instrument for many decades. I'm not aware that it uses distilled water as the unit I had was hooked up to the office's water supply. That said, for years, many offices have done cleanings or prophylaxis by ultrasonic methods. I preferred hand-scaling andby Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Many of the generic brands don't label GMP......some professional bottlers do and typically include quality control assurances and assays. And, most importantly, how long have you been dosing consistently at your current rate? Liz - I totally agree with you and respect your decision not to consider ablation for the reasons you mentioned. I chose to proceed because I was helpless to function during the frequent and long episodes of a-flutter which to me were far worse than atrial fibrillation and the pattern was escalating and seemed to always require ECV which is no joy either. Interesting topic. It’s well known that the body needs salt or sodium for function but not nearly as much as many people consume… and mostly, unknowingly. For afibbers, we are certainly very conscious of the problems that too much sodium intake can promote….not the least of which is the dominance of intracellular sodium over potassium. Amy, yes, as George recommends, also try adding a bit more salt. Amy - you are experiencing "postural hypotension" which means your blood pressure drops suddenly when you arise from sitting and that makes you light-headed and dizzy which sometimes can lead to falls. Liz - In Shannon's case, the nattokinase most likely spared him from a worse stroke situation than it was. Hi Mike - The following may help you decide about the merits and benefits of nattokinase which has a long history of safe and effective use to reduce blood viscosity by degrading fibrin. Elaine - re-testing will depend on your results. If you're out of range, then you'll need to follow the recommended protocols and after a period of time, re-test to see if you are making progress. Hi George - yes. I understand. I was just commenting for benefit of new readers that it may not be easy or quick to go for the ECV without advance planning. Hello Redhead…. Good questions and observations. Above all else, no one needs to be at risk for forming adverse clots and many factors in addition to having Afib should be considered. However, Afib definitely presents a threat.
