Steve - When I was discharged, I was given a little printout of what to expect. I still remember it said in bold letters "the heart is in a state of irritability for 6 - 8 weeks" and to expect that there may be some activity. Then they gave instructions about transmitting from the recording device, etc. So, while it's disconcerting and certainly annoying, try not to let it getby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Kate - thanks for that imput. Toothbrushes can indeed be sources of re-infection. I typically recommend soaking the brush in a solution of Grapeseed Extract (GSE) every couple of days and replacing the brush every two months or so. Hi Reet - Do you have a history of deep vein thrombosis or related pulmonary embolism issues? If not, then I'd ask if this is a routine screening...and if so, why? Perhaps you can simply decline the test? So far, it's not common here in the US to have this diagnostic before ablation. For the most part, Fran discovered she was magnesium deficient - as were many people including children in that area. She was unable to tolerate supplements so did the whole thing with foods and was very "pure" Paleo in diet. As I recall also, Fran was toubled with seizures which is also a symptom of magnesium deficiency and eventually, she eliminated the seizures as well. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Valda - one of the people who had a Natale ablation several years ago was told that in some cases, the person has both AF and Aflutter. The AF just covers up the flutter. Once the AF has been corrected, the flutter is then present and needs to be ablated as well. Each case is undoubtedly different. This was several years ago and two procedures were required whereas now, in some cases, they abby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

William - your statement about no protein in nuts or vegetables is incorrect. There is protein but it's a minor amount - in nuts - compared to fat content and in vegetables, the amount is very small unless it's from dried beans and there, the protein content is fairly significant. Hi Steve - As soon as you get home, start using your magnesium and potassium. Stress depletes both and obviously, you've had some stress. Give the heart time to heal. Ian - that's smart. You never know when you might hit upon a combination of supplements and diet that reverses the tendency toward afib in the first place. Giving it time increases that potential.
