Along with the calcium channel blocker, you could consider taking either PharmaGaba or L-theanine to help lower the anxiety/stress signals you are generating from the adrenaline surge. It would be good if you could have your adrenal function tested to see if you need adrenal support and something to help manage the excess cortisol. I know about this from my own personal experiences with job sby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Starwarsfan/Ben... Back when I first began my afib saga, warfarin was the only blood thinner available and I didn't tolerate that well at all...so I took the "natural" approach. I was concerned about the risk of clotting with events of prolonged duration, as many of mine were, and did a lot of research on what influences clotting or makes 'thick, sticky blood.' The science comes from Martin L. Pall, Martin Pall (PhD), researcher and Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences at Washington State University. Hello Em Jaye and welcome. Could you please provide a profile 'sketch' for us ... your meds, your AF history, age, any other medical conditions. That way, it's easier to suggest what's appropriate. Carey - that link to the Electropollution post that I authored does contain reference links to the experts talking about the risks of EMFs. Nick - consider in addition to the sodium load, it could be the various forms of preservatives - most commonly found is sodium nitrite and can be a trigger. There are brands of deli meat that are nitrite free. Also, various cooked meats produce free glutamate which is excitotoxic. This is natural glutamate but the chemical additive MSG (monosodium glutamate) is also a known trigger foby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
People… please. For a rational moment of scientific reasoning, consider the facts presented by Dr. Martin Pall and this very relevant observation: Pall has discovered no less than 26 papers showing that EMFs work by activating voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs), which are located in the outer membrane of your cells. Once activated, they allow a tremendous influx of calcium into the cellby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Liz - I can understand your frustration. Apparently for some individuals who are said to be "electrically sensitive," smart meters can cause headaches, ringing in the ears and insomnia after the smart meter is installed. Perhaps the noises you are noticing are being produced in your ear... similar to ringing, yet different sound. I don't know...only a speculation. Itby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Read carefully... The findings reported by Dr. Mercola are from an interview with Martin Pall, PhD..... Has nothing to do with Dr. Mercola's source of revenue. Also, to clarify the legitimacy of concerns about EMF radiation damage, refer to the ongoing work published by George Carlos, PhD, JD since he's been writing about the coverup of these risks for a long time.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Well, Hello, Jim. It certainly has been a while and how great for you!!! I had some reconnections and new a-flutter activity that brought about ablation #2 in 2014 so I didn't get as much mileage out of my 2003 ablation as you have, but I certainly enjoyed what I did have. With your extra activity, you may find that just increasing your doses to several times a day will help. Cby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lynn - TSH is just a preliminary guideline. Do you have a complete thyroid panel which would include the important numbers of Free T3 and Free T4, Reverse T3 and the thyroid antibodies? The "Free" indicates the amounts of active hormone available in the blood stream. Thyroid function depends on whether you are able to convert T4 to T3. If not, then problems can arise. Yes, Don... as George mentions, if you have hemochromatosis, then you need to have blood draws and testing regularly until you are in the 'safe' zone. At the phlebotomist, they typically just discard the blood so it's not like someone is going to receive it .... or that's the way it is in Ohio, at least. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Davros - I'm glad the activity has become significantly less. As I commented in my response, it's easy to get your potassium from foods and that should be your first choice unless you can't seem to increase it......which would be rare. My understanding is that Ablations stop AFIB, not PAC's True - and the key to eliminating PACs is the combination of optimizing the intracellular supply of: ... first magnesium... and then potassium. Potassium helps lengthen the time between beats. BUT... just adding potassium before magnesium is optimal can make things worse. Potassium is easy to get from food sources.
