Carol - you can find it in any health food store - I prefer the organic version. Desert Essence is organic and has been around for years. NOW brand has one. There is couple others. You should not ingest it. And organic means hopefully you won't be adding any pesticides etc. when you use it. It helps many things, but Oil of Oregano (again - organic) will definitely treat nail fungus...by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Al - consider that you probably are not breaking down your food properly and the use of digestive enzymes may help greatly. This would assume that you have no adverse effect from either the gluten or chemical additive factor which runs high on the probablity list of causes. In any event, a good digestive enzyme with every meal or snack will go along way toward correcting the problem. I'dby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks Dave. It would be interesting to pursue the lack of O2 reaction especially in light of what you say about your HR being low with O2 levels high. Would you send me an email... I have a question to ask. Thanks. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Lynn, for that contribution. I think as we progress in the understanding of the implications of Leaky Gut Syndrome, it becomes more clear why some people are especially bothered by additives in supplements... it makes sense that we can become easily sensitized to just about anything... some more than others and obviously, the degree or extent of the LGS. Thanks Dave. I haven't thoroughly researched sleep apnea (which will be evident from my question) but would like to ask of those who have it... does the lack of oxygen from the apnea trigger an adrenaline response or alert to the body? Might it be this adrenaline surge is a panic alert when O2 levels are sub-optimal? Also, I knew a number of patients who used the CPAP for sleep apneaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Just another addition to the GERD/Heartburn issues and observations from Jonathan V. Wright, MD.... Dear Reader, I think it's safe to say that most of us would rather deal with a little heartburn than have a heart attack. But if you trust what the FDA is saying, you don't have to make that choice. Cardiovascular Events During the 2006 World Cup Championship An emotional response to a sporting event may provoke a coronary event, especially in those already at risk. With American footballs Super Bowl just around the corner, it seems timely to examine a report of cardiovascular events that occurred during the 2006 World Cup Soccer Championship in Germany. Heather - the herb, curcumin (tumeric) is excellent for helping to control inflammation in the gall bladder. Better yet, if you can splurge for Zyflamend - as David Price has mentioned in his posts - it not only contains curcumin, but other helpful anti-inflammatories as well. If you use Curcumin alone, the dosage is fairly high...see below: Curcumin Drug Interactions Turmeric mayby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Heather - you are very wise to read the fine print on the labels. Malt is not going to be helpful for you as typically it is made from barley and so contains gluten and some say it contains MSG as well. The licorice must be deglycyrrhizinated or it can create elevated blood pressure so you must find a brand that has nothing suspect added. Al - I agree with Sharon's comments but would add that for overall health, you are better off not ever have a big meal but if that's the case, it should be at the noon meal rather than evening so you have a chance to burn it off with some activity. Typically a large evening meal will just sit there and you won't be tempted with much activity. An additional thought which has beeby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Shaun - In addition to the typical liver function tests, more specific tests are needed to determine the function of the detoxification pathways... this would be the Phase 1 and Phase 2 pathways. There are tests to determine if you re a pathological detoxifier... that is opposite normal detoxification. Kate - you can try to find dried organic fruit that has no preservatives added to retain color. Jim - the causal relationship can be an association between an allergy or sensitivity through a reaction via antibody generation that leads to continual inflammation (See CR #54 for this discussion). I should have mentioned that more than glucose and insulin handling problems with starchy carbs, Advanced Glycation End Products(Ages) are something we all should be concerned with as this metabolic aspect amounts to damage done in the body from consuming starchy carbs that convert to glucose .and cause cell destruction in the body through these AGEs. Jim - not conjecture...it's in all of the books dealing with types of types of allergies. The immediate allergies are tested by IgE release and the IgG (think gradual) are released over a longer period of time..can be as long as 4 days.
