I also agree that diet should come first - then add key nutrients. It's imperative that the body be given good food in order to function properly and just taking some extra supplements isn't enough. A clean diet with whole foods preferably organic and cooked from scratch is the way to go.. Follow the threads here that talk about using the Paleo diet and Conference Room #54. Nick -yes your PCP can order the D test....as to why they didn't... some plans don't go the extra mile in order to save on costs. However, in some cases, if the patient requests, they will comply. It should be routine for anyone living in the northern part of the country. I have some antibody info I'll dig out and email to you in a day or so. Jby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Gregg - oranges metabolize to alkaline ash so eating them anytime is okay...as long as you don't have blood glucose handling issues. Tomatoes - balance out with something neutralizing like alkaline veggies. It will be your experiment - I can't predict how it will act in your body. Good luck. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Dean - You are my hero - eating all that natto. I remember well and can't believe that much time has passed. It were easily obtainable here, I'd be trying it just so I could commiserate with you on the taste. It certainly has me curious. As you have always maintained, I believe your success with natto food lies with the effect the bacteria have on your GI tract. Whatever workby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Chris - nice to see you posting. As the study indicates, supervised by a doctor, it is appropriate to take the MK7 form of vitamin K2 and for you to deal with the calcifications. I would only trust the NZymeCeuticals brand to be pure so the dose is reliable. You should email him and ask for advice since you are monitoring yourself. Good luck. Hope you are feeling okay. Nick - on the vitamin D supplement, have you had your level tested? That would be my suggestion as a start especially if you have osteopenia. Those of us living in the northern part of the country are almost always found to be D deficient. I live in Ohio - never avoid the sun - golfed for over 25 years and ended up with a D level of 18 when it should be at least 50 and closer to 75 would beby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kate - I wouldn't presume to second guess your EP about the hormones although I know they are essential for healthy heart function. I've seen a lot of doctors, endocrinologists and holistic doctors as well. None have ever suggested any interference between bioidentical hormones and thyroid function and this is over a 20+ span of years. I agree with Liz as to why he might think thby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Oops - forgot to mention that for osteopenia and building bone... remember that it takes vitamin D3 and now we see K2 is most helpful in helping bone rebuild. It has to be the right form of calcium, too and I'm not sure that in Tums is the best - you know that hydroxyapatite form of calcium well, do you not? That's typically what's in the best bone building supplements. Also - sby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi again -Did they remove the whole thyroid or just that portion with the nodule? I have thyroid nodules... some think it comes from scatter radiation we work with ??? I'm tinkering with iodine to see if they resolve but they are relatively small and not changing. Geez - yes - 3.5 - 5 grams. Sorry. I must be brain dead after the K2 post. Sorry I missed the taurine as well. I'by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Trent - I would be taking the K2/MK7, D3 and nattokinase - each one separately and by so doing, I would also avoid the fillers I note in this product. The dose of the D3 is so low it's not worth talking about and I'd just feel comfortable with the known purity of NZymeCeuticals products for these other two important additions. Nick - Whoa! At the mention of Tums... the alarm bell went off. Another afibber here was getting calcium in the form of Tums and had a nasty outbreak of arrhythmia. Were you physician-directed to take calcium? If not - try stopping to see what happens with arrhythmia. That may still be even too much calcium by ratio to your magnesium...even though it is pretty close to the recomended l&quby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg - thanks for your response. I'm glad you are working on the potential for the hypoglycemia issue as that definitely can be a factor, but if the afib occurs just as you lie down then it's not hypoglycemia but the postural issue mentioned and that's tough - other than 'easing' in... however, you might consider having a bit of plain yogurt by your bedside to eat when you get up for bathroomby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tish - I'm not sure if you are saying that if you overdose with thyroid medication, the body will not react or use it but will only use what it needs. If this is what you mean...then it is absolutely not true. You can overdose right into arrhythmia and I was told by my EP to be careful not to get into a hyper-thyroid area as I could go into arrhythmia. If that's not what you mean. Gunnar - I'm only commenting that one should be very sure of who is at the helm of any ablation procedure... as the consequences can be devastating. Look at Pam's story. Al - do you mean you cannot detect an irregular pulse by checking your wrist pulse or that in the neck (carotid artery)? I find that very hard to imagine. Those wishing to avoid free glutamate because it triggers afib - take note. Those wishing to avoid free glutamate because of the neurotoxicity to brain cells - also take note. They say Salba is different from Chia.... it certainly costs more. I use Chia quite a bit. One thing I will comment on though is that it has a fairly good amount of calcium in it and whether or not it would bother an afibber, I'm not sure. I should mention that I did not use Chia before I had ablation so I have no idea if it would have made a difference or not. I'm thinking basedby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

That's all I know. Press releases by the company probably tend to exaggerate in hopes of stimulating interest. Al - it's an easy source and palatable as well. The downside is that some people find the potassium chloride which is the chemical added to gives it the 'salty' taste can be hard on the stomach for some individuals. The comment about KCl is that if people are prone to stomach issues or ulcers, they should not use it...this would also be true for the LS V8. The other comment oby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg - I'm sorry that I don't remember if you posted what your typical diet is, but consider the possibility that yourselection of food choices keeps your body in a more acidic state rather than alkaline. An acidic state will foster stomach issues that will act like GERD although may not actually be GERD. If this is a possibility, then we can discuss which foods metabolize to acid orby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
