Cynthia - I'll cover vitamin K2 in a separate post - coming shortly. As for your TSH being over 3 - that's really still too high and you need more thyroid hormone. Ask to be placed on Armour or increase the Synthroid. Water aerobics is not weight bearing and won't help you build bone. Louise... I'm hoping to pull my vitamin K2 report together by the weekend so stand byby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Alcohol has a toxic effect on the heart muscle in a number of different ways, but in particular it can lead to an irritation of the heart muscle, particularly the top chamber of the heart the atrium, Churchwell said. Kate - actually, there are quite a few studies out there now showing the benefits of dark chocolate....the only thing is, it shouldn't be sweetened and not many people like unsweetened chocolate. The benefits come from the antioxidants/flavonoids. The sugar issue isn't typically addressed in most of the studies as no one wants to do without sugar and we know how damaging sugar is toby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Cynthia .... you might do some research into the overuse of thyroid hormones and the occurrence of osteoporosis. We've talked before about weight bearing exercise and strength or resistance training that will help you maintain bone density. Also, you must be measured for your vitamin D levels and if low, start taking vitamin D3 as that is the functional form. Additionally, vitamin K2 -by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Rob - I won't hurt you to finish our bottle, but the experts who talk about reducing inflammation and heart benefits by using Omega 3's don't typically opt for flax oil as most people don't convert it well in the body to the EPA and DHA that's needed. Your label listing indicates you are getting a very minor amount of the Omega 3 - typically the minimum dose is 2 gramby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Pam - why not try the Epsom Salts soaks to help post-migraine? Do you know your Red Blood Cell magnesium level? You should. Peggy's correct... Migraine's are listed as classic symptoms of Mg deficiency. What about gluten free, Pam... are you free? Gluten sensitivity is another cause of migraines. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ritze - it may take longer, but you can certainly soak your feet in a basin and get good results... it probably will take more frequent soaking to notice any benefit but the feet are wonderful areas of exchange as they have the largest pores in the body. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Diana - the standard serum blood test for potassium will give you a close enough detail. It's the magnesium that is not reflected in serum but rather in cell itself...that's why I suggested the Red Blood Cell Magnesium test or ionized magnesium. The Exatest is difficult to get if you live in Canada...or was last I knew. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

I guess I am a 'mostly' successful ablatee of 4 years' standing. My pulse has normalized to where it was before ablation which is typically around 65-68 if I'm mildly active. Resting is around 62 or less. Active will go up incrementally according to the degree of exertion but it always comes back down rapidly. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
A few pages back, we discussed the transdermal delivery efficacy of magnesium through soaking in a bath with Epsom Salts. Go here: Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Ed - in the archived past BB forums, we've discussed this quite a bit. Some people are not bothered by alcohol intake and don't seem to find it a trigger. Many others have found that alcohol is definitely a trigger. I was one and I was a very moderate/weekend only imbiber. As one of the potential explanations, alcohol depletes magnesium. And to metabolize alcohol, the body usesby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
The form of magnesium is the glycinate form. Be sure the label says something about an amino acid chelate or the words Albion Labs. They are the ones who developed chealted minerals with 50 years research behind them. This is the form designed not to create bowel tolerance issues and does not depend on any breakdown in the stomach for bioavailability. I talked to him and he is still in NSR, settling on 1,500 mg of magnesium glycinate a day. 500 mg at each meal. He says it, "keeps me regular, but nothing more." Obviously magnesium is his issue. He says he can "feel" his heart settle down when he takes the Mg. George thanks for posting this because it serves as an excellent example of biochemical individuality. It'sby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jim I thought I had saved a file that gave details on cooking with olive oil. It seems to have vanished. No matter, heres a clip to listen to by Dr. Mercola. Hi Jim - yes - I'll post the oil info... I'm just getting off line now. Back later. As we know everyone is different but that theanine I use is from Jarrow and it's a synthesized form. When you see your internist, request that he order a red blood cell magnesium level - a specific test to see what your intracellular levels are of magnesium. This topic came up in the local paper which was undoubtedly an offshoot of the original news release.... Among the facts quotes as examples...they said "an abdominal CT scan can expose the stomach to 50 times the radiation than that from a front and back X-ray would." They also had the same chart comparisons as in the original article but one was stated a bit differently.... Smoking 3 - 4 pby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Barb - the advice we typically give is to start with magnesium at a low dose of 200 mg. Use that for 4 - 5 days and if all goes well, up the dose another 200 mg. Or even use 100 mg. increments if that 'feels' better to you. The idea is to ramp up every 4 - 5 days another dose level and watch for side effects.
