Nel - I'll send you some of my files for info. The vitamin D has to be the specific test for the Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy. A routine test would probably not cover that. Ask specifically to have it. You can google the name and get the specifics so you can discuss it accurately. I am out in the sun and I still can't get enough D through the skin exposure so it could be the same for youby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Shaun - some of the science out there today is indicating a genetic connection. It's very preliminary. Another thought is that DNA can be damaged fairly easily by toxins in the body and there is no one on this planet that isn't affected to some degree with toxins - air, water, food, etc. When a toxin in your body binds a receptor site, a cascade is set in motion that eventually wby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Elwood - I was admitted for Flecanide. Same 3 days. They hook you up with telemetry so you are mobile and the signals go back to the monitor from wherever you are on the floor. You can walk the halls. I found a computer area where one could go online to help kill time. Take some reading for when you aren't walking around. It may be different with Tikosyn, though, so why not inquire.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ritze - AF had such an adverse affect on my life that I had to quit a job I loved (clinical dental hygiene) because I was not reliable enough to commit to a patient load. Rescheduling when I'd wake up with afib was a huge inconvenience for everyone. Hello Aldona! It is certainly good to see this very positive report from you after all you've been through. I'm so glad you were able to get to Bordeaux for both of the treatments that finally led you to NSR. Long may it last. Enjoy life. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Frank~ thanks for sharing your story and sorry you have had such a time of it. If it would be a consideration at all for you, you might want to check with the people at Bordeaux where so many have been helped. Stay in touch so we know if you are able to make any progress. Nel - I'll second Peggy's comment. I missed that in your post. Statins can create muscle pain like you've never experienced in your life. I absolutely can't take them. After a week on a statin, I can't even climb the stairs. If you stop taking the stain and add in plenty of CoQ10, you may find that your muscle pain goes away. If not, there is the vitamin D and rby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nel - I, too, am sorry about your myositis diagnosis. Are you totally convinced that it is an accurate diagnosis? The reason for my asking is that the name myositis is often used interchangeably with other similar maladies with similar symptoms - muscle pain, weakness, etc. like fibromyalgia. About 12 years ago, I was diagnosed with FM along with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. There was no realby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

DeLynn - some years ago, I did it. I just shaved some off the tablet every several days and then a bit more for several more days until the amount left was negligible and probably had no effect anyway. It may not have been necessary to be that cautious, but it made me feel better while doing it. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks again for the input... Susan - No - I have new drugs. None of the old are used. And no - I've not used any new oils. Thanks for the input. Most likely if Wil is a typical example, that's what's happening in my case as well. I don't monitor myself. The recent monitor prescribed was because of the first two breakthroughs just to see if there was any silent afib which would be of concern, of course. Peter - glad you were in error about the 5 grams. You know, though, it isn't absoutely necessary to eliminate all salt - in fact, many doctors think that's a big mistake because salt is one of the main sources of iodine and we need iodine for thyroid function and to help prevent breast and prostate cancer. I find if I eat as "plainly" as possible in a restaurant, I am not as apt to be subjected to some additive from the kitchen.
