Lois - My that was quick! Special prayers and blessings to you as well. We are never in short supply in the prayer department! Please let us know as how you are as soon as you feel up to it. I wish you a safe and successful ablation. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I received this update today from HSI and it's just one of many I've received over the past several weeks urging consumers of supplements to write their legislators. If you rely on supplements to stay healthy, as I do, then don't miss this opportunity to voice your opinion about this proposed legislation. Charlie - just a couple of comments based on this post..... even decafe has a bit of caffeine - if you drink enough of it - it could be a stimulant. Some people can use caffeine; others cannot. Also - decafe or otherwise create an acidic condition - throughout the body but esp. in the stomach. If the vagus becomes irritated enough, you'll probably have some associated afib as a result.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Emat - open one and smell it to be sure it does not have a fishy smell. If so, they are rancid and can cause some reaction so discard. Some people are unable to take any form of Omega 3 fish oils. You could be one. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mike - it was reported at the AF Summit in 04 that when phrenic nerve damage or irritation does occur, it most always resolves with time. Be patient. I'm sure it's uncomfortable and annoying. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Emat - very intuitive question. Often times we comment that one should not rush into ablation since there are always risks with any procedure requiring anesthesia. The emphasis constantly given here from Hans and the rest of us is to choose the very best EP at the very best equipped facility/hospital after doing plenty of research about your options. Some young people do opt for ablation ratby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hello Mike - I was especially touched by the simplicity of your observation regarding your contact with Dr. Natale. He is my trusted hero, too. Thank you for posting your thoughts. I'm also extremely grateful to have found this very fine forum for learning about LAF, thanks to the dedication of Hans Larsen, our host. Hi Charlie!!! All is great with me, thanks for asking. If you think ablation might be in the cards for you, then my advice is to consider getting on the waiting list for Dr. Natale which is about a year. Susan offers you excellent direction. Regarding increasing events - your history parallels mine. Few- in the beginning but as the years passed (8 years) - more frequent as well as longerby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Jean b - in my early years of afib, I came close to passing out fairly often at the very first minutes in the onset of afib. I learned that there are several causes for the likelihood of fainting while in afib and I'm puzzled why a cardiologist would say there is no connection. I was never prone to fainting spells before afib and now that I don't have it (ablation), I do not haveby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Benj - nice testimonial. Sounds as if it was worth the extra miles to take advantage of both the facility and Dr. Pinski's skill. I know what you mean about walking to the procedure. I've done that for twice and both times (only one ablation) I had a bit of a twinge thinking I was going to my own hanging. All was fine, both times, though! Kay and Lois While we certainly need to be aware of potential contamination issues, it would appear this is not a wholesale problem where all kelp is being contaminated....or at least at high levels. I think that much depends on from what location the kelp was harvested... meaning some areas/countries are particular about dumping chemicals into the ocean and others are not. Annie - I agree with Howie's statement. We've seen reports here of people returning to the same EP for a second and often more attempts, with continued failures. Keep in mind that second ablations are not all that uncommon. Quite often, it takes two. After that, though, one would be suspect about technique or operator skill. When there is intestinal permeability (leaky gut syndrome), the protein molecules of food enter the blood stream and are viewed by the body as invaders - or antigens.
