Hi Albert - Excedrin is acetaminophen as is Tylenol. You need to google Tylenol and liver damage. Last summer there were numerous reports about regular intake and liver damage when acetaminophen is taken regularly. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I would not count on it. I would do just what I mentioned. See if you still have the same symptoms and if so, then stop ALL grains for 2 - 3 months to see if anything improves. Leaky gut takes a long time to manage and restore. If there is any minor gluten reaction, then you won't heal. Oats are generally contaminated with gluten. Kay - my experience when mine got much over 2.0, was that I had little blood droplets leaking from the thin skin around my ankles. This went on with various dose adjustments for a few days and I simply stopped the Coumadin. I said it was ridiculous. When I was forced to use it for ablation and post-ablation, I was able to manage the INR and had no leaks but I sure had hematomas from the ablatioby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Bob - no - I have some reference to the flaws in the study that prompted that statement. I'll find it if I can. I recall it was a poorly designed study that did not use the useful vitamin E (gamma) but the other alpha tocopherol which is useless. Naturally, those who want that bias will pick up on that. The proper form of vitamin E is still recommended and is very healthful. The best viby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pam - just verify that the salmon (or any fish) is not farm raised as the nutritional value of farm raised is gone - no Omega 3's and they treat with copious amounts of antibiotics and other medications to keep them healthy under deplorable conditions. If it's farm-raised, it's a waste of money. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Chris and Sharon - Yes - light sauteeing with minor bits of coconut oil is acceptable but not as a routine - fried foods just arean't healthy. Bill -that's great news! We are high on CCF and Bordeaux because of their excellent history for safety and success. Dan - This is very important. I think most times, informed consent is overlooked and it is assumed that most patients 'know' that in teaching hospitals, delegation is to be expected. No excuse for that. Best to you, Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Happy New Year, Pam - That's really scary about your mother's INR. This list is very helpful and should be imbedded in the minds of every afibber should they be prescribed an a/b. When I was overtreated with Coumadin in the hospital on one of my visits, I came home with an INR of 8 - and I wasn't aware of it. In fact, I played in a golf outing and came home to a very nervous doby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Mike - David Price who posts is from the UK and he tells me he got the Allergy Research product - I believe locally. You could email him if he doesn't see this. I know if you email the address I listed for NZymeCeuticals, they will tell you cost and shipping and they do send to the UK and other areas. I specifically asked Dr. H about it. Good for you - great EPs. I have a list of questions from my ablation 3 years ago; if you email me, I can send them to you. Bob - less than .5 grams transfat is allowed to be reported as zero. Anytime an oil is hydrogenated, there will be transfats. The harm in that is that those .5's add up to several grams a day fairly quickly but the consumer thinks - well it says - zero trans fats, so I'm not getting any. Adrian - this is the progressive nature of AF in some individuals. When we get to the point where AF dominates our lives and we no longer have any fun, it's time to start thinking about ablation...but only with one of the qualified and highly successful EPs...otherwise, you can be wishing to go back to that 60 - 70% time before the grand decision. Carol - I would still take aspirin if I thought I had a heart attack or stroke and take my chances. It is fast acting. Resveratrol is great but nothing has indicated it works quickly on the clotting mechanism. Carol - Canola oil is refined and it's the refining that causes problems with residuals in the oil. It has a long shelf life and that is also part of the problem. Steve - obviously, I'm not a doctor, but I do know that you need to determine the levels of the same markers I mentioned to Jim that have to do with inflammation and blood viscosity. Most of us here subscribe to following a diet that includes healthy fats and oils whereas the Pritikin diet - (at least used to) - observes no or very low fat intake.
