Connie, where do you live? Perhaps we can locate a knowledgeable doctor for you. Afib isn't a new condition and I find it inexcusable that doctors 'throw up their hands' when you present to them with afib. I have some other thoughts, but this one comes first. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Philip~ I can easily relate to your symptoms and anxiety. I was a tad older than you at age 59 when my afib began and just reading your post brought back some vivid memories of my early days on the afib journey. I too, had a jaw pain and it happened consistently every time, increasing my anxiety, since I thought initially it might be a symptom of a heart attack. Well, I'm alive anby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dean - I've been mulling over your question on natto killing Candida and am thinking that it's logical to assume the over-abundance of good bowel flora produced by the enzymes from the natto food would simply overpower or crowd out Candida. It's impossible to totally eliminate Candida but the concept is to have so much good bacteria that the small amount of Candida doesn'tby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

We have published often that the American Heart Association guidelines indicate that in hearts with no structural defects or in patients who have not suffered a heart attack or stroke or have no HA /stroke risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes.... afib can be managed with daily aspirin until age 75. Long term use of Coumadin is not without consequences such as risk of hemorrhage aby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan - all the information I have on Omega 3 fish oils indicates they help reduce inflammation and also help prevent platelet aggregation by keeping the platelets 'slippery'. There are many other properties of Omega 3's that act on health issues besides AF but may have influences on AF and definitely on cardiovascular health. One negative report suggested fish oil did not help wby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Michael, I don't blame you for your impatience and venting, but your situation/condition is very serious and you need to take appropriate time and wait out the process. Now that you mention the Lieden V Factor, this is a whole other issue and you need to pay strict attention to the whole condition to help prevent future problems. I definitely suggest you go to the Hemex site I recommendedby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Maureen - Dr. Holsworth says it can be done with medical supevision. We can't supervise or give this type of advice on the BB with any degree of safety because of the obvious variables. We can say that it can be done with medical supervision but more than that, I'd not want to be the one to give a directive as I'm not a doctor. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kevin - Thanks for this information. What's the exact date? We want to be sure to be sending you angels and prayers. I wish you well after this long afib journey and soon, you'll be enjoying NSR and a new valve as well! Kind regards, Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Dean - I do not know the answer to your question and don't recall reading anything similar along the way, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. Please keep me and all of us posted on this topic and also your progress/observations. Certainly, this naturally fermented product is a wealth of good bacteria and their 'by-products'. David - The Paleo diet concentrates on meat, chicken, fish, healthy oils like fish oil, olive oil and loads of non starchy veggies with small amounts of fruits. Nuts and seeds for snacks. Large servings of protein always metabolize to an acidic ash which only means it is important that you balance the amount of acid metabolizers with a higher amount of non-acid foods like the veggies. Michael, you have received two very good posts with advice regarding your DVT and the use of a combination of NK and Coumadin. You really can't attempt to self-medicate yourself and to do this combination, you should be monitored and supervised by a medical doctor - which will be difficult to accomplish..as you note; they don't know about the properties of nattokinase. Rivta - Nattokinase acts on reducing blood levels of fibrinogen which, when elevated, allow greater tendency toward clotting. If one has regular events of afib, it's best to take nattokinase on a daily basis.... see Conference Room Sessions 39 and 40 and maintain a constant circulating blood level. However, if one only has very occasional afib events, it certainly would be a helpful cby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom - I commend you for your inspiration to tackle this project. On the face of things, it could be fairly simplistic to just make a chart listing the content, but there are so many variables and absorption issues that it becomes very complicated to publish an accurate, reliable and safe guideline and that's likely why we don't see such. David - I have long been a proponent of the pH theory that a low pH would set the stage for afib. If the vagus is irritated by an acidic condition, it just makes sense. The H.pylori can be ruled out with a breath test. If you don't have to do the endoscopic procedure, it would be good to avoid it as there are some risks involved (as with any procedure), of course. Just be cautious. Brby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Diana - I don't know your age, and I'm not asking you to reveal it, but depending on the possibility of your being perimenopausal or menopausal, the problem with IC can also be hormone related. It has to do with thinning tissue of the urethra because hormones are lacking and this affects tissue tone. You can email me if you want to discuss this further. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Bob and Joyce - anything that increases cortisol levels (the stress and death hormone) can influence afib. Some time back in the BB, the importance of lowering cortisol levels was discussed - I believe by Hans and I know I was posting on it as well.
