Well, Mary - now you have some decisions to make. Here's a report by one of my favorite thyroid doctors.. wherein he explains the function of TSH and why that measurement alone is not a total indicator. quoting: Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Traditional medicine relies mainly on the TSH or thyroid-stimulating hormone blood test to measure thyroid function. TSH is not a thby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mary - It's not surprising often, doctors don't make the thyroid connection to afib and do the testing, so it's good that you're having the assessment since either hypo- or hyper-thyroidism is known to contribute to arrhythmia. I hope the thyroid panel is complete in that it looks at more than just TSH.... and should include not only the TSH the T3 and T4 but most imporby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Alex - Omega 3 fish oils reduce inflammation and therefore, CRP. With the Eliquis, you'll want to be cautious about not using the optimal dose of 4 - 6 grams a day...so it can take longer to lower the numbers... I'd try 2 - 3 grams. Vitamin E is useful as is extra supplementing with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) but not calcium ascorbate. I am partial to the liposomal form of vitaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Que - Glad you had the Exatest. Not surprising that you are low in magnesium since most afibbers are. Once you begin to supplement and then actually 'hold on to' the magnesium (intracellularly) you should notice that your migraines diminish significantly as migraines are a classic sign/symptom of Mg deficiency. Do a Google search on migraines and magnesium deficiency...lots of supby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hello Heather! Good to see you posting. Remember that thyroid function depends on adequate iodine. I was hypothyroid for decades and took thyroid hormones but once I began iodine supplementation, I no longer needed the thyroid meds. Best to you for continued NSR. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Alex - Inflammation. The focus should be on markers of Silent Inflammation if you still have concerns. . Since you take the anticoagulant, it would still be important for you to know several other markers.... especially the High Sensitivity C-reactive Protein number as it is an indicator of inflammation along with the Homocysteine and Interleukin 6 which would not be affected by the anticby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Chuck - you might consider that your sense of post-ablation depression is caused by the many chemicals to which we are exposed during the ablation procedure. I suggest this because I'm highly sensitive to chemicals (diagnosed with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) as a result of an unfortunate chemical exposure years ago). What I notice after 3 ablations is not depression, but an overby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Que - Very glad you didn't need the cardioversion. You can't tell by your wrist pulse or even with a very light touch on the artery in your temple or carotid artery? I know a person with permanent arrhythmia who doesn't notice it either, but if I check the wrist or carotid (very light touch so as not to stop the blood flow)... I can feel it with my fingertips. Okay Carole... thanks for the clarification of the ZIP line. .... On the insomnia issue, you may want to consider having your cortisol production checked with an Adrenal Stress Profile.
