Gary - With your treadmill test, did you have the Thallium contrast dye? What do your other lab tests show about blood viscosity...as we've talked about in the posts on 'thick, sticky blood'? Testing for fibrinogen, Lipoprotein (a), High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein and the LDL small particles (if on the high side) could give a clue as to the source of pain...in thatby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb - I am reluctant to comment on the safety of using even small amounts of Ginkgo with Eliquis until I do more research and I've been pressed for time lately. I do intend to delve into that soon. When you say "proprietary blend" = 60 mgs.of these 4 different things: doesn't that mean 60 mg of each of four? because otherwise, that would be a very trivial amount of aby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
After my ablation last August, the heart monitor indicated I had "some" PVCs but fortunately, I didn't feel them. Apparently this continued for a couple months as indicated by the weekly recordings I would transmit to the monitoring center...but then the reports indicated that all was calm. Period. I attribute that to the magnesium, potassium, taurine supplements (The Essentiby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Calli - On the dosing of your dosing of the natural thyroid hormone... 1 or 2 grains seems very high to me. When I used Armour thyroid, which is natural thyroid hormone that contains both T3 and T3, the dosage was 1/4 grain... and that was every day, initially and then it was decreased to every other day. Have you been told that with autoimmune disorders such as Sjrogrens and Hashimotosby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, Rick for finding this link. It certainly seems to cover all the various forms of magnesium although I find it interesting that there isn't a distinction between magnesium glycinate... and the patented amino acid chelated form called magnesium bisglycinate chelate. I just scanned quickly, perhaps I missed it. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
George - thanks for summarizing the Dean report. As you indicate, the absorption of magnesium all boils down to whether it can make it through the intestinal portals (first) and then whether the cell receptor sites allow it to pass into the cells themselves where it functions to help with arrhythmia. This report is a good reminder about magnesium supplementation and the potential problems iby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb - I'm not sure where my reference link is, but when I began Eliquis, I read that one should not use Ginkgo. Apparently, because of the blood thinning property of Ginkgo is similar to that of a regular dose aspirin. If I can locate that resource link, I'll post it. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Ken - Typically, the formation of gall stones is caused by the inability to digest and process dietary fats. Therefore, digestive enzymes for breaking down fat. Anti - I don't see a problem with a more concentrated intake. I have been drinking some of the WW concentrate to be sure I maintain tissue alkalinity for a number of years. Just as a precaution, though, I should mention it would be good to be do a formal monitoring of your tissue pH so you don't become too alkaline. You can get pH strips to easily check that with the first urine saby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lynn - what meds are you taking now for your thyroid? I was told during my many consults that going too much in the direction of being on the 'hyper' side would not be a good thing heading into ablation or afterwards. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Travis - that's an interesting link you provided with the various product analyses. I was especially pleased to see the notation about ingredients sourced from China... wonder if that was the only country singled out as an off-shore supplier. The notation about laxative effect is mostly without merit because if taken in a large enough quantity, most magnesium form will cause laxation, evby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti- The WW offers the magnesium bicarbonate ion for transport... The magnesium form you get from the WW (while excellent) may still not be enough to optimize your IC stores and overall requirement for magnesium. 375 mg is a very small number when compared to the typical doses needed for IC optimization....yet the efficiency of delivery may be key point. --When consumed, magnesium bby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
David and Travis..... it's not at all unusual that doctors don't know about the Exatest. Here in NE Ohio we have a huge population of doctors and three major hospital systems but few functional medicine/holistic type practitioners. In order to get my first Exatest, I used my chiropractor who was a Medicare provider so he just ordered in the kit for me and I did the collection saby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Travis... I have always used curcumin as a preventive/anti-inflammatory. When I started the Eliquis last summer, I eliminated the morning dose of curcumin and just use the evening dose which is one capsule (400 mg). I don't notice any problems. Travis - when I had my ablation last summer, my son had Marriott points and we used those for the mini suite at the nearby Marriott Residence Inn.... had a mini kitchen area ... and complementary meals in the main lobby area. Hi Bruce... yes, my emphasis was on the fish oil source because that's what I rely upon for anti-inflammatory effects. I use some flax seed as well as chia... although not daily or in high amounts. Can you give a link to the reference you mention about a caution between those and Eliquis? I wasn't aware of that aspect. Thanks. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Judianne - that's very good information. Not many doctors go to that extent of testing unless they do something like the NutrEval (Genova) or Metametrix Metabolic Profile testing that will get into the IgG and IgE-Mediated allergy testing. Travis - It could well be. If it works for you, then that's the one for you. The label says the magnesium is the chloride version and for some people, that may be too harsh for their stomach as that's the reputation of chloride compounds. A liquid version is a nice alternative from swallowing capsules, although I really like the chelated magnesium powder. As I said in the preby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Travis - The Albion patented amino acid chelate process uses a pharmaceutical grade magnesium and that mineral (magnesium) ion is chemically bonded by a chelating process to a protein or amino acid ligand (glycine) and that bond is a tightly formed ring that withstands the influences of stomach acid and gastric enzymes that otherwise separate the two elements of compounds such as (plain) magby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Lou - Good to see you posting! I'm also glad you are doing well after the setback. Hopefully, you will be able to switch to Eliquis when an safe antidote is available because, as you probably recall, a downside of warfarin is the increased prevalence of both bone thinning and osteoporosis plus arterial calcium deposits. Ken - It's not uncommon to have bloating after eating grains. It can be a gluten or gliaden component or it can be another of the lesser known proteins to which your body is reactive. A solution is to avoid eating any and all grains for several weeks and notice whether or not you've had bloating after meals. Then, if you feel like risking it, eat a grain meal typical for you and seeby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
