Nancy - I hope to be posting later today some of my findings on this topic. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Don - I'm not aware that this is a common reaction as typically magnesium and the glycine component are calming and should not cause the arthritis-like symptoms you mention. I'll think on it a bit and see what I can find. Obviously, the answer would be if you do well with the citrate form, then go back to using that as typically, afibbers need to supplement to optimize the magnesiuby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Nick. The WW does indeed stand for Waller Water. I just offered "speedy" directions to Kevin for making it - at this link ... and I've copied it here for your use as well... You should read through the longer version just so you know the background, but otherwise, you can make it at home very easily and inexpensively and best yet... quick to do. You can make yourby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Murray - Glad you didn't have a calamity with that one! In this day where critical information on drug interactions or contraindications is readily available via computer, I am astounded that you were prescribed in error. Your warning to all of us deserves special mention. Whenever we are already on one or multiple prescriptions, we must emphasize to the prescribing physician thatby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
David - the night palps may be from what you ate at the last meal... that reduced lowered your IC magnesium... or could be from the fact that you tend to run marginally low anyway, and going to the oxide form allowed you to be in a Mg deficit. It doesn't take much to do that. Even the stress of the procedure can help deplete magnesium. Try boosting your magnesium intake consistently soby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nick - My first thought about gouty arthritis is that you need to focus on tissue alkalinity. We've posted a lot of info in the past about the importance of maintaining alkaline pH... and it does work especially well. Check out this thread from a couple years back... by Erling. Although the focus is on AF... the importance of the body's tissue alkalinity remains the same. If youby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have no insight as to why the Phillips (oxide) would cause you anxiety. I would go back to the citrate form (sit-rate) as it's a very effective magnesium form for constipation. It doesn't work especially well for helping get magnesium into the intracellular myocytes of the heart... since it doesn't last long in the body... so for that reason ... good for constipation...by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Colin - thanks for posting this. It never hurts to try. Works for many, but as pointed out, not typically for vagals. I didn't have success with it, but I certainly did try. When I first joined the forum, PC gave advice for vagals to do exercises that involved upper body...like reps with hand weights to get out of the parasympathetic tone (vagal) which is typical when slowing down foby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Larry - I think ultimately, determining the most reliable, pure formula is both the challenge and the goal so we, as consumers, feel confident in our choice and that we aren't wasting our money. It's a large challenge to distinguish reliability from marketing hype.... and as you point out...most studies are funded by the formulator. Hi Larry - I understand what you would like, but as we know, it's not typically common to have extensive studies which are costly. I know of a source I can try to contact to learn if there is more definitive data available. Check out the results Dr. Sinatra observed from a mini, informal study he did with 12 of his patients... (I've been tested and my levels are good so my comboby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kevin - yes; grains are grains. I'm currently working up a report on this very topic so stay tuned. There is a large amount of researched information plus clinical observations on the detrimental effects of modern grains, especially wheat in addition to the gluten sensitivity issue that is currently getting a lot of attention in Functional Medicine circles. Hi Larry – thanks for this important discussion. I agree with you that as consumers, we should try to learn factual information so we buy the most affordable version and still have predictable and beneficial results but also to know why the ubiquinol form may be important for those with specific health disorders. Hi Kevin - I recall that because glucosamine is derived from shellfish, some people have reported reactions when using glucosamine. If you are using glucosamine to help with arthritis pain, you could consider following an antiinflammatory type diet that is grain-free, (and often dairy free) with a low carb load diet that also eliminates sugar... all known to cause silent inflammation, pain anby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes, Shannon - good reminder tip about consuming with a fat containing meal. I take my fat-soluble nutrients along with the morning dose of Omega 3 essential fatty acids and make sure that I have a healthy fat with breakfast and if that falls short, I eat a large spoonful of almond nut butter, expeller-pressed coconut oil or half an avocado. Peggy - are you keeping tabs on your vitamin D levels? It's well known that as we age, we are often far less likely to be out in natural sun accumulating the vitamin D benefits via skin exposure and supplementation becomes critically important... especially during the winter months for those of us living in the northern latitudes where sunshine is scarce and we typically aren't out wby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

From Dr. Sinatra's website and recent Anti-Aging tips... Earthing, in case you haven’t heard about it, is creating a buzz throughout the health world as a simple and natural way to restore and maintain optimum health. It simply means living in contact with the Earth’s natural surface charge – being grounded − which naturally discharges and prevents chronic inflammation in the body. Nancy - It's not good to stay in prolonged AF for repeated periods of time as this tends to increase hypertrophy (enlargement) and can lead to lower ejection fraction (heart's ability to pump blood from the ventricle)... so hopefully you are working with an EP who can monitor your heart's structure and functionality. Mary - No wondering about it... Please read more at the Conference Room 65 link I provided from Sharon Glass who cured her AF by eliminating the H. pylori...since there definitely is a direct connection... in this case H.p but in other cases it can be another type of a gut bug that causes inflammation and disruption. Sharon did a lot of research on this and subsequently contributed to a forum similar to this one but for those suffering with HP. Adrian - good that you are focusing on the water issue. Consider that not only do you need to hydrate well continually, but also consider adding the WW concentrate to your drinking water for maintaining tissue alkalinity (pH) as that is extremely useful for preventing joint aches as well as bone degeneration. Thanks George for repeating the PIP option... as I was obviously ( totally ) focused on when AF continues on to the 48-hour or longer duration. I had great success using the PIP for self-chemical cardioversion for many years....until the flutter hit and then it was a roll of the dice as to whether PIP would work or not... mostly not. Nancy - The rule is if you are not taking an anticoagulant daily, then the maximum time is 48 hours. A few years ago, many of the EPs decided that was too long to wait and had suggested Electrocardioversion ECV at 24 hours. The reason being that the risk of forming a clot as a result of incomplete blood clearance from the heart increases relative to the time you are in arrhythmia. In previousby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Shannon - and thanks for taking time providing the latest details on options for managing the LAA if the velocity clearance is substandard.
