Always, J. Also assess other abnormal heart sounds... murmurs, gallops, etc. /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Healthful beams being sent your way, J! John's experience may serve as a reminder that there are risks associated with ablations... and actually any procedure... which we don't often discuss here. /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Short Answer to the Question Posed: No. /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey, folks. Many thanks to everyone for jumping in and commenting on the ASA recommendation. As a result, I've decided to pass on the suggestion to up my dose. Was not aware of the AMD connection. Appreciate and always welcome all your informative feedback! /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello again, Michael. Here's a different perspective for you. I'm in persistent AFIB, and have no intention of pursuing an ablation at this time. Luckily, I'm one of the lucky ones that is asymptomatic... and don't feel comfortable with current AFIB ablation success figures and safety. OTOH, the future will surely bring greater advances and improvements in AFIB treatmentby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM

Recently relocated to FL. Was very impressed yesterday on my initial appointment with Dr. Gursoy. This MD was recommended to me by forum member: GaryH. Many thanks, Gary. He was great! He added Co-Q10, 300 mg daily, and bumped up my ASA to 325mg daily (from 81 mg BID). My labs will determine if he will adjust my Vit D3, presently at 1000 mg daily. Found Dr. Gursoy to be personable, iby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, J. Still trying to understand. Mag is commonly given / used to stabilize arrythmias and for other cardiac issues in hospitals and other subacute settings. And Vitamins B, C... and others are also regularly ordered as a supplements to patients. So wouldn't these "ingredients" fall within the "pre-approved" language? /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey, Jackie. Read your post. Not getting the significance of: "... your doctor can only order a vitamin or mineral or other nutrient IV if the ingredients are already pre-approved or in some unrelated, synthetic, and FDA approved drug." Can you provide a specific example of what this language is intended to apply to? Seems confusing to me. Thanks! /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM

A usual culprit is an intense period of stress and / or worry. Others include certain fabrics and chemicals that come in contact with the skin. Good luck! /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM

Clarification to my previous post: Doubt my eye surgery was considered minor. Took several hours -- saved my vision in the affected eye. /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Have had four within the last two years... piece of cake! Docs and anesthesia professionals were all aware of my status, and I was monitored throughout. No issues at all. Don't sweat this folks. (For the curious... one retina repair, three varicose vein procedures.) /L (65 yo, LAF since about 50 yo -- pretty much asymptomatic, w excellent test results / diagnostics)by LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
All the best to ya, B! Seven procedures and likely more to follow... wow! That's what makes folks ponder whether to go forward with an initial ablation. Was thinking about one myself in the future, but still not sure... just being real. Success stats aren't very impressive IMHO. Luckily, my AF -- previously persistent (probably permanent now) -- rarely causes me symptoms. Anby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey, Liz. My mom had nearly the same experience as yours: long-term AF, died in her sleep at 92. Dr. Lee's comment seems to me be out a little bit "out there." /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hope all stays well , C! My gosh though... you had to go through four ablations... including over 20 hours worth of procedures! /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
In answer to the question raised: through an EKG. /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
Totally understand how getting poked by a needle in an arm vein weekly or even monthly can get to be a nuisance and painful. At my EP's office in PA, they do the INR from a small sample taken from a finger. Results were available in five minutes too. Is this technique not commonly available? Much more pleasant way to go, and it's faster... and cheaper, I would think. /Lby LarryG - AFIBBERS FORUM
