I've been taking 1 g morning and evening of the acetate from your MoM/vinegar recipe the last few days, along with 1 g morning and evening of mag as dimagnesium malate. The acetate seems to work as well as the other forms I've taken, including chloride, bicarb (Waller Water concentrate - but I've never drank the whole liter at once) and glycinate. I've taken 3-5g/day for a nuby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

Anti-Fib, "As for George, he is an anomaly, who else can handle that much Mg? I take only 400mg/day, not 4000mg. " While I agree, I'm an anomaly, I'm not unique. I personally know 5 others who take mag in the 2,000-5,000 mg/day. Greater than 1,000 mg/day is very common. Recent poster ghg says he takes a total of 2g/day - 1g morning and evening of mag as acetate <by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
My journey to afib remission was one of total focus. Nearly 11 years ago, the now "standard" answer of magnesium, taurine and potassium were by no means standard. These three were part of a very large quantity of potential answers. I went through PubMed, read nearly every one of the historical posts here as well as all of the Afib Report back issues as well as Hans' reader survby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

Q, < Vagal afib usually presents a) early in the morning during sleep; b) in the resting phase after exercise - in my case this could be a delayed response of several days to after all day very hard exercise (high altitude race training); c) digestion phase after meals; d) triggered by very cold food/drink; e) the very vagal aftermath of orgasm. ghg My error. I hadn't reread Erling's recipe recently and I made a memory mistake. Here is his quote, "Plain Milk of Magnesia (MoM) should be used in the recipe. The “active” ingredient should only be magnesium hydroxide , 400 mg per teaspoon (5 ml), and the “inactive” ingredient should only be purified water. 41.7% by weight of magnesium hydroxide is magnesium (Mg), so 5 mlby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, 1) I've posted Erling's links above. 2) Read ghg's links - he talks about how/where to buy mag acetate & how to make it from mag hydroxide/milk of magnesia & white vinegar. 2 tablespoons MoM (from MoM with no additives) in 8 tablespoons vinegar. Stir. Slowly add a bit more vinegar till it goes clear. According to Erling's chemisty from his Waller Water reby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

Mørk, Here is a puzzle. I lived for 49 years without afib and without supplementing any mag. Something changed. After 4 months I figured out that I could control afib with magnesium to bowel tolerance, potassium & taurine. I also got a script for flecainide on demand to convert me to NSR for the times the electrolytes failed. This has worked exceptionally well for 10 1/2 years. Withby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hans is the founder of this site and ran it for many years before retiring and turning it over to Shannon 18 months ago. Though ~12 years old, it is still a great summary of the many issues surrounding Lone Afib < A brief bio is here in the center of the page <by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks ghg! Something new to try. I'm excited. I've made bicarb water from Erling's "Waller Water" approach for years, but it is fairly dilute as you point out. Hence it was always a small part of my mag intake. Erling was aware of Russell Beckett's work in Australia & modeled his water after it. < < < < Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have a local personal friend, diagnosed just after I figured out my protocol. I told him my story. He did the mag thing for years, at high intakes (4-5g/day) like me. Then he learned he has obstructive sleep apnea. He is not overweight, but has a 17" neck, which is a risk. Subsequent to treating the apnea, he has been able to reduce his mag intakes to more "normal" levels whby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've taken a lot of mag for a long time (nearly 11 years). Tried many different forms and brands, including the Albion glycinate forms. Can't say it makes huge difference for me. Recently ordered some very expensive stuff marketed by Carolyn Dean MD, "picometer magnesium" (ReMag) in liquid form. As to a powdered form of mag, I purchase dimagnesium malate through an equine supplier. It is made by Albion for human consumption. I've talked to the supplier. She markets the human stuff for horses (it helps with my "mareish behavior"...). < I worked it out once, I think 1/2 tsp ~1g of mag. I don't know. In my book, "remission" means I don't have afib episodes and have no issues. "Cure" means I can quit taking my electrolytes and afib will not reoccur. By my definition, I'm in remission. In the last twenty five months, I've had one afib episode lasting 1 hour 15 minutes. I can do whatever I want, except I refrain from all day (12 + hoursby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Paul, I'd guess the percentage is small, though hard to tell. Some people may lurk, try and never comment either way. I know some, like PeggyM, where it isn't perfect, but has worked well enough for 11+ years. Mørk, I wouldn't go as far as saying "cure," but (magnesium intake to bowel tolerance - 3-4.5g/day) has kept me in remission for 10 1/2 years. Same is true for Erling, the creator of "Waller Water," magnesium bicarbonate water < . However, I also know this won't work for all. Hey Ken, Great news! In the same vein, just got a message from my good buddy in Houston. I'd referred him to Dr. Natale for a 3/5/15 ablation. John, 1) a top operator, like Dr. Natale, typically has much a much shorter time (like 3 hours). See < My buddy had an extensive Natale ablation about 2 1/2 months ago. Travis, See Shannon's post here: < "Just to share with others here what we discussed, a high HR post ablation is one of the real hallmarks of having had a solid ablation to begin with as its a direct indicator that at least enough solid burns were made, relative to an ablation in which there was no change in HR where its possible not enough contact force was used consistently enoby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
