Researcher, Can't say about anybody else, but I have two very high priorities: 1) Staying in NSR. 2) Staying free of the comorbidities, which IMHO can be controlled by strict attention to lifestyle choices. So far so good. Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lynda, The best source by far I've found is in this Facebook group: The Vegetarian Low Carb Diabetic Healthy Diet Society < After you join, look on the "Files" tab at the top for a lot of recipes. In addition, scrolling through the feed you will also find a lot of ideas. I suggest you join. It has opened my eyes to what is possible. I try to avoid soy & wheat vby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I believe the protocol given to Jackie by Dr. Natale was 25 mg Toprol followed by a loading dose of flec 30 minutes later. I think she stepped her flec 100 mg every 2? hours. I've done PIP flec for over 9 years - I just take the loading dose, chew it and swallow it as soon as afib strikes. No beta blocker. Jackie's is a safer protocol.by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lisa, You are quite right. I've cooked for myself - all whole foods from scratch - for a long time. The interesting part has been melding my low carb/high fat diet with my girlfriend's vegan diet. We used to cook separate main courses, however about 3 months ago, I decided to take on the challenge of finding and cooking "convergence meals." The dishes I've fixed oby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

Mike, If I had to guess, I'd say slightly less than level. Why would she say slightly less than heaped? I've never used the powder, but in my liquid MoM experience, if you add a little too much, you end up with unreacted crystals on the bottom. They do no harm, but waste the powder a bit. In your situation, I'd start with a known quantity (especially if you have a gram scaby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon & Researcher: "The difference I recall is that stroke risk is about 5X greater for someone with un-managed AF compared to someone that doesn't have AF." Presumably this is a generic risk that does not apply to lone afibbers (as Hans has pointed out repeatedly). Joe, I agree with Randy, that the BB was for rate control. For a vagal afibber with 2 episodes in 10 years, in my NON-medical opinion, taking this continually makes no sense. BB's can help adrenergic afibbers stay in rhythm, but the only time a vagal afibber needs them for afib is during the episode if their rate is very high. You can guess what I would do in this circumstance (likeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Chris, Is that a 20mg dose? Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Chris, So Dr. Natale is saying that all afibbers should use Xarelto on-demand when their afib lasts longer than 5 hours? Did he mention a protocol? Like how to taper off it once back in NSR. Of course there is the issue of no antidote in case of a bleed. Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Josiah, I've only had one Exatest. It was over nine years ago before I started this supplement program. I was borderline low mag. I do not exhibit any signs of mag od. I'm sure I urinate a lot out. Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mike, My program (all divided by 2 and taken twice a day) is ~2.8-3.2 g mag a day, ~4-5 g potassium, and 4g taurine. As mentioned above, I take other stuff, but I don't think it does a whit for my afib. If I travel and want to travel light, I leave everything but the above at home (and have fun going through airport security with lots of white powder). The mag is usually 2 g asby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe, I don't take any meds like Lisinopril or Metoprolol so have no experience. My routine, which is based on convenience, is to split my mag/pot/taurine in two and take one half in the morning and the other in the evening. The others (D3, K2, Ubiquinol, A, B's), I also take in the morning. Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Randy, I take my mag in 2 doses. I'd never get them taken otherwise. I'm sure spreading out helps. Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Randy, What constitutes a large dose is very individual. For some it may be 200mg/day. For me, I can take 3g/day. As I live on the edge of bowel tolerance, I do experience loose stools from time to time. It is not a big deal for me. I just cut back a little. One study I read said you could actually absorb 7% of the amount over bowel tolerance. Mag researcher Dr. Mansmann, was diabetby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
A general comment. When I post what I do, it is not to suggest that somebody following what I do will "fix" their afib. It is only to give people ideas of what to try. When I started on this road, the advice of mag/pot/taurine was not common. There were some suggestions of the various components but there were also a lot of other ideas. Randy, My Ca intake is now in the 300 mg/d range. My opinion is the current Ca intake recommendation is reflective of the generally high levels of circulating insulin in the population. If you reduce insulin levels you excrete less Ca, and therefore need less on intake. Georgeby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Randy, Perhaps for some clarity, when I said, "My vagal issues seem to be related to the autonomic nervous system, not to a slow heart rate per se." I meant real time changes in the ANS. For example, when my system is sensitive, if I ate frozen blueberries in almond milk, the cold could trigger a vagal ANS change that would lead to ectopics and potentially afib. I could reverse thby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Randy, I can only relate my experiences. I've always a slow heart rate. Usually in the 50's, but sometimes in the 40's and even the high 30's when asleep. I've been taking significant quantities of mag for nine years. Currently 3+g/day. The mag intake has never really correlated with the heart rate. Af, In my case, it was quite frequent when my system was overly sensitive to anything vagal. When was the worst, I'd at least have to sit up at a minimum to change the ANS to being less vagal shortly after orgasm (if not stand up and move around). Now that my system is solid, it never happens. I think viagra may induce a sympathetic reaction. I don't use it. There was a guy whby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

Debbie, Yes, I'm aware of the almond milk calcium. My vegan girlfriend likes it and I do, too. I drink some, but limit myself. I should note, I was eating a LOT of cheese/yogurt.
