Quotesusan.d Last night I was so hot and sweaty from the tachycardia burden that I cooled off my face with cold water because I couldn’t take a cold shower in the hospital wearing telemetry leads and hooked up to an IV. I got an instant relief of 70hr for three minutes until my flutter returned. I then stuck my head out of a window. The temperature was 55 and I converted for the night from the coby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteLLA George, I'm curious about your comment, converting from flutter to Afib and then to NSR. How does one do that? Linda, not sure if anything I do applies to others. I've had afib for over 18 years. It was brought on by chronic fitness at age 49. The first 4 months ended with a 2.5 month episode converted in 20 hours by a loading dose of flecainide as Tambocor. QuoteCarey So lacking a 12-lead ECG and the ability to interpret it, the most accurate way to diagnose flutter is with two fingers. Feel your carotid or radial pulse for 15 seconds. Count the beats and pay close attention to the rhythm. Is the rhythm rock solid regular like a drumbeat? Is the heart rate elevated above normal? QuoteRob626 I’m a fan of the mg bicarbonate and make it myself. Instead of the milk of magnesia I just buy mg hydroxide from Bulk Supplements on Amazon. Its a cheap, pure, powder form and easier to deal with.. Hi Rob, when you put the powder in the chilled CO2 water, do you dissolve it in some water first or do you just put the powder directly into the carbonated water? Everybody is different. I take a lot of dimagnesium malate and have for at least 12 years. I also take glycinate and chloride. For me, any mag works as long as I take enough. Some thoughts for you. One would be "Waller Water." It is magnesium bicarbonate that is made from reacting magnesium hydroxide (the active ingredient in milk of magnesia) with chilled carbonated water.by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Google can and will search the forum if you put afibbers.org in the search terms, but most people won't do that. Didn't work for me when I tried it. QuotePixie Another quick question for the Walkers after Meals; If a short walk within 60-90 minutes after eating (when it is known that blood sugar is most likely to spike) is beneficial, are you finding it most effective to walk right after eating, or just anytime within 60 to 90 minutes? Quotesusan.d How do you know how many # you are generating by jumping? The iOS app I mentioned, Fractureproof, uses the phone's accelerometer to figure it out. I wrote Conference Room Session 73 about my friend eleven years ago. She's not an afibber, but a Wolff Parkinson White (WPW) ablatee. Metabolic dysfunction is a continuum. The late Joseph Kraft MD wrote a paper around 1975 using data from oral glucose tolerance tests with insulin assays. He ultimately had around 15000 of these tests. The issue is actually elevated insulin. What Kraft said is he could predict frank diabetes in the future based on results from this test years earlier. There are data that suggest that aby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
