QuoteSearching9 So, and finally, does the community see any flaws in that DIY approach to tracking her Afib burden? Since you've checked the heart rate signature with the Kardia, this would work. QuoteSearching9 The medical studies cited above are silent on if the patients observed were at rest or were undergoing material exertion. I could be wrong, but I'd have suspected that if the patients were being stressed by exertion, the study would say that. (But my suspicions have been known to be wrong occasionally!) My experience mirrors Ken's. I've had afib for just shy of 18 years. In the first four months, I had a 2 1/2 month episode. During that time I could clearly see the effect of the lowered cardiac output during exercise. After that long episode, I rarely do exercise during afib, I primarily am relatively sedentary till I convert, as conversion is my goal. However, regarding the origiby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Liz, A thought on an alternative remedy. I've solved a lot of pain issues for myself & others by applying the myofascial trigger point release concept. I wrote about it 11 years ago here. QuoteCarey I have no idea how it records beats. I never cared enough to ask that question. I just know that it does so highly inaccurately during afib and periods of lots of ectopics. But not flutter, presumably because flutter is a regular rhythm. Ah, now I understand why you aren't a fan. QuoteCarey I've seen some pretty amusing numbers from my Polar chest strap monitor. Curious if your Polar device records beat to beat? What gets displayed on the watch or a phone app getting data from the strap is always averaged. However the recorded data are excellent. Not in afib, they also will pick up PAC's or PVC's. QuoteKen Nothing to support this, but while in afib, with the lack of regular strong heart beats, it would seem that blood pressure would drop with the reduced blood flow while in afib. Unlike afib, which is very irregular, it offers few opportunities for a drug to interrupt it.
