QuoteCarey Easier solution: Buy a Kardia. You don't need the more expensive 6L and you don't need to sign up for their plan. You can get one for $69 on Amazon. Or mid $40's on eBay I managed to drop mine on tile on a recent trip and kill it. Replaced it for $40 with shipping.by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
4-5% afib burden would be ~ 60 to 70 minutes a day, if every day. Sounds like you are out of rhythm for much longer periods of time. How often does this higher heart rate happen? Once a week, twice ??? Your Holter would be 4-5% over the two weeks, so how does the math work out? If it works out, then likely afib. If you are in the higher heart rate much more, then either your burden has inby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteLee2022 Recently, I was diagnosed with Afib with 4-5% burden, 95% normal rhythm. Was this with a Holter monitor, or some other long term recording device? QuoteLee2022Does this necessarily mean i'm in Afib? Or is arrhythmia different than Afib all together? Hard to say what the device's afib detection algorithm is looking at. QuoteRob Wilson I'm curious what the research shows on exercise & afibbers. I've read bits and pieces of various posts whereby some people had been avid exercisers and have cutback or moderated their routine. The book in this thread is written by an EP who is a bicyclist, as well as two other cyclists and is a good survey on the topic. Book link Chronic fitness was my path tby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteDavid_L My cardiologist appears to think even someone who has a BMI of 25 could benefit from losing up to 10% of his body weight. Quotekantler I read of Dr. Natale back in 2016. How difficult is it to (1) get in to see him and (2) engage him to do the ablation? If I choose to do another, I am thinking of going there. I'm not an ablatee, but have been here since 2004. I've suggested a number of friends in real life go to Natale, with success. I don't know what the current waiting list is, but suggest youby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
My hypothesis is those who are metabolically unhealthy may do better by improving their metabolic status. If you are not overweight and you are fit, likely not much benefit. Exercise is in the mix too. It is a "Goldilocks" variable. If you are sedentary, then adding moderate exercise may help. If you are very fit, then that may be a trigger and backing off may help. Here is how a PIP dose of flecainide converts my afib. This is a Google sheet. The Data tab has data from my Polar H10 strap captured with the Heart Rate Variability Logger App. In column A are the beat to beat lengths in ms (milliseconds), col. B is col. A cumulated, col C is the time in col B converted to minutes and col D is col A converted to an equivalent heart rate in BPM. These dby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotealfrae13 Does Flacainide regulate the electric impulses of the heart or does it reduce the bpm similar to a beta-blocker. In my case I have periodic AF but the bpm are always less than 80.
