If you are wondering why Natale left CC, I recall the then MD CEO of CC was not happy that Natale was teaching other docs ON HIS OWN TIME. Hence the CEO did not renew Natale's contract. My thought at the time, "talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!" My understanding is the folks at TCAI purpose built the facility for Natale. IMO, it is the best afib ablation faciby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quote1ablation Has anyone had an ablation at Cleveland Clinic recently? I did a search on Cleveland Clinic here and the most recent ablation I could find was from 2012, mentioned in this post. dated Jan. 2019. If I were in the market, I'd fly to Austin. I'd also ask Dr. N about ablation after CABG. I'm sure he's done plenty.by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

I posted this in response to a post in a new thread that Lorraine just made. Thought it should go here, too. From NLAMA's post, "(btw) EVOO significantly increases absorption of MK7 Study - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov Which always leads one to ask - what about other fats and oils - in short - not so much. I take all K2 MK7 and natto with about 15 grams of EVOO."by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

QuoteThe Anti-Fib Was this your idea, or did your Dr. initiate this? My idea. Paid out of pocket. Interestingly, about the only doc I consult is Steven Gundry and that is telemedicine. He's a cardiothoracic surgeon and not a fan of CAC, because it is looking at hard not soft plaque. Soft plaque is what causes heart attacks. Hence he uses tests like the PULS test for inflammation. QuoteThe Anti-Fib George, did you do research to determine what dosage of Vit K (complex) was right for you? That is way more than I am taking. " K as supplement: 25 mg of MK-4, 0.5 mg of MK-7, 5 mg of K1 and 2 mg of Astaxanthin. QuoteCarey Have you noticed how few persistent afibbers we have here compared to paroxysmal? That's because a big percentage of persistent afibbers have no symptoms so they see no reason to join forums to talk about it. I have a good friend right now who is not persistent (yet). He feels nothing, but he does jog and noticed his heart rate going wonky on his monitor. Also afib was caughtby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Some don't have a rapid rate but others do, although probably not super high. Hard to imagine a rate of, say, 180 going unnoticed for long.... Allowing a rate of over 100 to continue for long periods (weeks, months) can lead to heart enlargement and ultimately heart failure. . ~16 years ago, I had a trial lawyer in his 40's who had unknowingly stayed in very high rate afby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteThe Anti-Fib Any guinea pigs out there.? I am basically doing what Lorraine is and getting the same Vit D3 levels on the Lab tests (53ng/ml). I set out to Try the Natto Protocol 2 years ago, but I have only adhered to it intermittently. Quote1ablation Gordon. I haven't been on this site for years and haven't kept up with what is new. Sounds like things have gone well for you. Isolating the LAA is something new to me along with having to have a TEE after 6 months and then either an Atria Clip or a Watchman if NSR continues. Obviously l haven't researched all this. QuoteLillyh It seems like doctors( and dentists ) in the same practice all seem to stick together . That has been my experience so far . Building on what wolfpack said, other surgery in the heart area, including lungs, can be a trigger. A family member had a cancerous lung removed and it was considered a risk. The Mayo Clinic lists, "Stress due to surgery, pneumonia or other illnesses" as a possible cause.by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

May have other comments later as am heading out, but you can use your BP machine when you are just sitting around and resting. That will be your resting heart rate. Great news Colin! Yes we are all different. I tried natto food soon after Dean's original success 15? years ago. Found out it did not agree with my digestion after I'd been eating it for around 9 months & went on a trip without it. My digestion improved materially. I don't recall it having an impact on my afib one way or the other. I react to many foods, so I wasnby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lillyh, I'm not a doc, but it looks like the reading you typed second was taken initially and you were in afib at that point. Apparently, after the Lopressor was given, you converted to NSR (good). The ventricular rate after conversion was a bit high at 93. A couple of thoughts. In my opinion, fasting is one of the most powerful and effective health interventions there is. However, like any tool, used improperly, can have negative consequences. When I reflect on pre-agricultural life, there likely was not food availability 24x7x365, hence our ancestral survival and the reason we are here today is humans' ability to go long times withoutby GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Frank, Are on in persistent afib or are you paroxysmal? Any other meds or conditions? Fasting, low carb or keto will lower your insulin significantly. This is good and can allow you to effectively lose weight, as Joe and Vanlith suggested. The insulin reduction can signal the kidneys to excrete sodium in the urine. This can cause electrolyte shifts. If you are paroxysmal, these shifts,by GeorgeN - AFIBBERS FORUM

QuoteBobsBeat Are you saying it's fairly standard (to rule out blood clots) to keep someone on blood thinners for 3 weeks or perform the TEE prior to cardioversion (be it pills or procedure)? It will probably take some time to get lined up with an EP in town anyway. I just didn't know if this situation was urgent. I want to make sure I'm doing all I can in a timely fashion. QuoteBobsBeat My HR is erratic so it's hard to give a set number. I think the average on my ECG the other day was 123, but that was prior to Metoprolol. If I check it now 3 times in a row it will provide 3 differing numbers maybe between 70-110. At the gym it's the same except it starts at 145 and swings up 40 points and back down. "the best ablation strategy is the one that restores sinus rhythm at the least tissue cost, thereby preserving as much as possible the LA function.” I'm guessing the top EP's agree with this. Quotecirenepurzalot Thanks. I've never heard of a "durable ablation" but I'll do some research. So, he's an MD, not an EP? ! By durable ablation, I mean that the first ablation in 2008 or 9 has lasted till now and my cousin remains in NSR from that ablation, as opposed to those who've had failed ablations.
