Im 3.5 months post left flutter ablation (8/6) in Austin. I had an afib ! Episode week 3 but other than that zero arrhythmias nothing no pvcs flutter zippo. Only meds eliquis and 20 mg propananol 2 x day. So little. Dr Natale i assume will set my schedule going forward. Ill beg sooner than 6 months. Im ready for the TEE or Watchman etc. my questions: after a Watchman can you be Cardioverted? If iby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
The first i ever heard of this was a few months ago when a poster here had it ablated by Dr Natale as part of their procedure. I know nothing about it or itโs significance or location so not any helpby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok thanks Ron then Trent s statement to me: if your dr wants you to stop eliquis. Now makes senseby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I never use epi. And Trent has said hed give me the Lovenox protocol should i do this. Which ive used in the past but just dont quite get it? Anyway guess ill wait til its painful. Its not now Thanks for input Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ive had a supra errupted molar upper left next to wisdom tooth. Of course after years its feeling sensitive Ive emailed Trent at Natale: he mentioned Lovenox which ive done in the past but told me hed give me the schedule if i have it done Anyone had a tooth extracted on eliquis? Know what the protocol usually is? Trent mentioned โifโ dr wants me off So maybe a way to stop bleeding?? Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a TEE in 2010 and one in july prior to cardioversions. No lidocaine and no sore throat or sore anything Just my experienceby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Amy sorry for that news but sounds like some silver lining. After my LAA isolated ive been eliquis but i was on it prior too. Ive had a ct in march and Austin and a tee in july prior to a cardioversion. I talked to Dr Natale about Pradaxa. No. He said eliquis until i come back for TEE or a touchup or both or a Watchman or all 3 ??? Im in no mans land right now But zero arrhythmias since 8/6. Asby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Perfect thanks Carey. Yes ive seen aspirin falling outa favor. My ep had me on 2 325 s prior to my 2012,ablation lolby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
In my 16 yrs. learned here btw. Ive never taken amio nor digoxin! So i second George s rec. no way. You said cardiologist. Find an EP And start taking magnesium!by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Im a bit confused too? Its always been watchman, 45 days of OAC , TEE if sealed then Plavix and aspirin for 6 months then aspirin. Now it seems they may ditch the plavix but not sure on length of OAC 1/2 dose. Maybe its 6 months then 81 aspirin?? Did you have LAA isolated?by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joy im on eliquis and use some Carlson liquid cod oil each day with a bit of flax oil mixed into a shake i make so about 2k too of marine oil plus the flax so? Ive uded them for yrs including my 2012-21 ablation to development of flutter. During the 9 yrs very very little arrhythmias so ive never connected the two as trigger. Msg yes. Alcohol yes. Anxiety yes Not fish oil. This year ive leaned mby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok i see. Well im sorry but maybe at 65 things change. Ive seen charts showing costs savings in 4-5 yrs with Watchman over eliquis As far as still taking eliquis after a Watchman i dont quite get unless its not sealed 100% ? Or some choose it over daily aspirin use Or a person might have another risk factorby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hilarious isnt it. I just know that one day id say in 25 yrs afib and all heart arrhythmias will be knocked out for good by some means (procedure or med) Cause right now its a ball of spaghetti as we are all the same yet so differentby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Starwars good post. Ive been using oils a long time but now use some olive avacado walnut oil. Occasionally cod and flax oil. That study seemed to use the word Marine alot but flax is omega 3 so is cod. I use alota supplements: ubiquinol D mag C Zinc CBD Arjuna Potassium Gluc pwd (a bit) and my oilsby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ive seen these reports before regarding om 3. Ill assume its not just fish oil but any omega 3? Flax oil etc?by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
We have a friend here in NC she s 75 ish and lives in slow rate afib and has for years. I think she qualified for the 5 mg of eliquis. Based on age. Idk maybe its 10 But she does fine. Not very physically active so it doesnt bother her.by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Smack. Why didnt u get The Watchman? Then maybe no eliquis??by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Maybe ask for references but i doubt they do that. 50 a year may not be alot today. On 8/6 i know i was Dr Natale s 2nd that day Dr Holshouser here does 2-3 a day on ablation days. Others will know better but i know that experience sure counts and it depends on your case difficulty. If your parasoxmyl and not persistent not long standing then the standard pvi may be an easier fix for you. Beforeby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Shannon yes I understand i just worded it incorrectly. I get the 40% chance ! If it happens great. Im going with the assumption i wont so if i do its an exciting surprise Im 10 weeks post ablation today and have an 11-22-21 (jfk assassination 11-22-63)teleconference with Dr Natale scheduled so ill find out then my future schedule , hoping that nothing stands in the way of a Watchman cause thaby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Personally i hated Diltalizem! I used it during flutter episodes back in march then in may. A week to 10 days ea time. First i took 60 mg 3-4 times a day then was switched to the 240 slow release. Felt tired weak lethargic. Following my 8/6 Natale ablation i take Propananol 20/20 and eliquis 5/5. None of the previous side effects nowby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
George thanks. Ive heard of trigger points and will ck out the book. Dead hangs i recently learned from Rich here on this site. An ortho wrote a book on it My pain is shoulder but its bicep tendonitis. A tendon that attaches to the front of the shoulder. I did it doing pushups! Like an electric shock 8/13. Its much better but not healed so im trying to leave it alone and not sure the hangs are rby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Honestly the problem i have blaming eliquis for any pain is difficult cause i was on it march thru aug. nothing. Then weeks after my ablation i hurt my shoulder Then some back pain so???? I really do believe in the mind body connection Dr Sarno taught and i think im having some. 5 months of pressure cooker ablations ct scans travel cardioversions worry etc has now manifested in pain to a mildby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes great advice. So far ive had no flutter and im 8 wks 2 days. But the light at the end of my tunnel is not a glimmer yet. I wear a monitor for a week. That determines next move. So if no flutter ill assume TEE test. If 60 im done. Maybe. If 40 a watchman. Maybe. Its like my EP here told me: once the LAA is isolated youve taken a new path. But if it stops the flutter ill take that path. Its loby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George. Ill assume he never got a Watchman? Which will be my hope should i fall in the 40% velocity group I just going foward want off Eliquis due to being 68 now. Still very active and yes i was the ocd work out guy. Now its scaled back alot of course to lighter weights and walkingby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok perhaps another odd question from North Carolina. Since my LAA isolated 8/6 is there anything that would improve my odds of the 60% LAA velocity when i do the TEE in January all assuming no more atrial flutter which ive had none since July 10 prior to the Natale 8/6 isolation. I am just always scheming and thinking. I realize this question could be ridiculous Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Prior to my 8/6 Natale ablation they took me off the small amount of propananol i use daily. I went to half then to zero 3 days before the procedure So i kinda knew they wanted me in that most vulnerable state. Best to you! Hope for a great success Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
George he could buy a Kardia to monitor his afib? I have one but like Carey said : put it away! Due to my almost ocd pulse ckg. My rates are always high so i dont need Kardia to know im in a bad rythm. But the slow asymptotic afib is differentby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
