2 weeks in afib without being anticoagulated is a decent risk of clot (stroke) So thus: you dodged a bullet and we re greatful!by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Id take a wait and see approach, then youll have options. Many your age are Ablated i have a friend ablated at 77 a year ago You re doing the right things. Trigger avoidance and supplements. To call yourself persistent? Maybe. Maybe not. I do know that Dr Natale has had success ablating persistent afib. Were you anticoagulated during the silent persistent period??? Ill assume not. You dodged a bby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Susan. No my cholesterol numbers and triglycerides are great per this june 174 and good ratios and 56 on triglycerides But good question as i am aware that statins can have those side effects. My EP here. Dr Holshouser says: your heart is great its just a little excited lolby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok thanks Carey. I realize that there is no logic here. Just grasping. I honestly think im having what Dr Sarno called mind body back pain. Overload of tension for me. I dont handle it properly. Appreciate Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ive been on Eliquis 5/5 since March. Ablation 3/29. 2 cardioversions. Natale ablation 8/6 LAA isolated so im in week 9 and doing great with regard to Flutter Afib. None! But ive had shoulder tendonitis and now a week of low back pain ive blamed on gym. But i dont remember hurting myself at all. Now im blaming Eliquis. Is it possible?? Is joint and back pain an Eliquis side effect??? Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Heartbroken. Are you on an anticoagulant? If so how can you use prednisone? If youre in persistent afib flutter you must be ??? Confused Besides prednisone is arrhythmia inducing for manyby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sam i was Natale ablated 8/6. 3 days later pvc s non stop for 2-3 days. At 4 weeks on labor day weekend i had a 5 hour afib at 125. I was ablated for flutter but had an afib episode. Then 2 weeks of resting HR jumps. 72 to 97 8-12 times a day. Now at 8 weeks zero anything for past 10 days. So chill ! Youre still in healing process. All the wondering doubting worry anxiety etc will just add to it.by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George! Yes i do believe that too much K in a powder dose can hold kidney risk. Its absurd that tablets are held to 99 mg but the powder is quite the opposite. Most potassium rich food is sweet. Coconut water melons orange juice etc. but some are not : potatoes avacados etc. Carey and George more versed on this subject. I ea am make a water drink with potassium magnesium taurine vit c i dby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I also agree with above on use of K. Anytime ive had pvc s its calmed them but i work on getting potassium to rda 4500 each day thru now gloconate pwd coconut water etc Many yrs ago Hans had on this site a recipe called PAC Tamer. I don’t remember its ingredientsby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
L its actually good news. Opposite of what you were thinking. Please dont act like me! Lol Best to you going forwardby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes Pixie one thing i do is make everything a 10 when in reality its not. We all may have a leaky valve or 2. My echo last January reavealed 2 and i quized dr Holshouser about it. He said stop!!!! Youre fine it’s minimal and your atrium is actually better than A few yrs ago. Probably cause your BP is better. So try and not think terrible things cause they usually are not. Let Dr Natale do his thiby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thats a vg point! My Charlotte EP told me to let the Natale Group do my TEE in January as they have their way of reading what they want read etc. because I suggested to him that he do it here. He said no go back to Austin. All assuming my Flutter stays at bay til then. Im 7 wks today post ablation. I grasp Pixie s anxiety as i battle it as well. This condition in my opinion lends itself to some tby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I certainly dont have that answer but my first inclination is to have the Echo sent to Austin today Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes Barry i had Dr Natale ablate my atypical flutter 8/6. So far so good. We ll see. Yes i took diltalizem and propananol too which would keep rate down. But i think his is right flutter?? Im not sure but i thought left flutter was a late result of afib ablation happening years later?? Anyway right can be cured easyby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I also flew after considering the drive from Charlotte. 2 full days of driving! Nope. and i flew back and forth twice! July 5 when Natale sent me home lol then Aug 5 for my ablation so 4 flights. Airports hotels eating out etc. i just try hard to stay away from people best i could. We sat outside to eat at The Loft Hotel maybe to ease the worry get the n95 mask?by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
As u may know he ablated me 8/6 for left atrial flutter. Im 6 wks 3 day. But who s counting. Its a wonderful atmosphere. Great staff Try to stay calm. Unlike me lol Ive done great since cept at week 4 i had a 4 hour episode. But im back at my gym and feel great. He s a special guy Covid: my D is 77 i take 5000 mg C and 50 zinc ea day. I take 400 mg ubiquinol plus some cod oil olive oil &by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Even though youre in Gainesville (i went to UM) lol heres the answer: if its right flutter then an outpatient ablation is one of EPs most simple procedures! With a cure rate of about 95%. Do it!!!! Youll never have it again. So no afib?? If thats the case you may need a new EP. meds are very ineffective vs flutter. Its very hard to stop. I had right flutter ablated in 2012. To date zero episodesby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Also anxiety worry doubt etc etc can manifest into feeling physical things So consider that. Its perfectly normal to experience it. Our condition can take us all down emotionally If you are not satisfied raise hell and demand a total workup. Echo ekg CT etc. just know youve got alota company here including yours truly Shannon told me that once he flew from Amsterdam to Hawaii and went into fby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok Sam dont be like me! And go down the rabbit hole. Theyll get you ckd. Ekg mabe a TEE maybe a CT but theyll figure it out. We re all different in our recovery. After my 3/29 ablation i had terrible peracarditis for 5 days. Then 4 good weeks then flutter then a slow HR the episodes of tach in june the flutter again in july the another ablation by Natale in august. So try and chill if you are reby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Are you on meds now??? Any beta blkrs? This really shouldnt be happening 3 wks out. I was back in gym 8 days out. No high HR work but pushing some weight around The amioderone might still have a lasting effect. I take 400 mg ubiquinol every day in 100 doses. 800 mag divided. Carey hopefully chimes inby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have never had one single adverse anything: 3 ablations 11 cardioversions over 16 yrs all GA. I wake up and in a few mins fine. Im 68 now Tby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
To add a little more: there is now the Watchman Flex which seems like the more common choice. My EP here has done a bunch. Its amazing to me that over 90% of clots form in the LAA something i never knew. But to seal that opening off is quite the game changer and from what ive studied its 50-60 min procedure. The Cleveland clinic video says they like to put them in during afib ablations. Reducingby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Walt ive seen the Watchman commercials for quite a while. So yes you snoozing ! Plenty on youtube as well. Seems like there is no absolute consensus on the med protocol following the device placement Continue eliquis at lower dosage? Plavix and aspirin. Aspirin???? Anyway i might be on the path so we ll see what The Natale Group says I think in Eurpoe its 4 months Plavix here 6. So……..it doesby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for that reassurance Carey i even feel better! You are exactly right though some strokes are worse than dying Im a hard head and in nsr since my Natale date 8/6 but take my 10 mg as my LAA isolated. I may get the chance to come off later ? Watchman? Etc Tby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Len the chest issue could be a bit of pericarditis. I got in 2012 and 2021. If it is ask your EP office if you can take ibuprofen for a few days. Usually a yes. Or could just be the ablation tubes etc. all the best to you! Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Im just not the one to ask when it comes to odds or percentage risk of forming a clot. Its all based on age chads score how long you are out of rythm etc but i do know that EPs feel it can hsppen sooner than the old days when 48 hrs was considered safe then the risk increased. I believe now its a much more conservative approach. I do strongly also believe ablating afib before it becomes persistby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ablation not an option? Yes eliquis can be stopped without any rebound type effect but many , millions take it everyday. Ive been on it since March and will be for many more months but i think the bleed risks are very low so long as you avoid ibuprofen alcohol aspirin and other things that increase a bleed. A fall an injury etc. if you have a good EP you must trust his direction. Idk but your thyby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kathleen wow alot to unpack. So ill assume you were never tested for covid? Maybe you still can. Antibody test? That being said afib can act many different ways. From seldom to all of a sudden constant or at least more frequent. Imo yes you right now should take the blood thinner based of an everyday episode. The good! You are converting without a med or intervention. Do you know what your heartby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
There was a highly regarded guy in Chicago. Roderick Tung. But he may have relocated??? Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
