This was before cell phones. I was trained in CPR but that's about the best I could have done. There was no way to even flag down a passerby. Total boonies.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George. All I see is gs276 - the rest of mine are 'not set'. So it looks like I caused it myself - but the good news is - it's fixable. Just have to find out how.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kind of off topic - but I went for a bike ride with a girlfriend about a year after my Olympic trials. We went up this largish steep Missouri hill (but nothing like the mountains I was used to riding on). All the way up she's complaining "my heart hurts" (we're in our 20s) and I keep telling her if you can talk, then you're not in any real trouble. We get to the tby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
This event, # 3, recorded with my overnight spO2 and HRM. I've posted before. Screenshot of notes to my cardi at that time.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti - I recall reading this kind of information when I first left hospital - still in AF, still with elevated heart rate and 3 drugs - amiodarone, met tartrate and diltiazem. (not to mention my insurance company hit for $20k) criminal. I have data recorded that shows my AF is vagal in nature - how did you end up solving yours? Thanksby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Awesome success story. Natale ablation, like the old Timex watch slogan - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Very good George ! Thanksby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Anti - sorry but I don't know what AAM/BB/CCB are. Can you please explain? I think first ECV failed because cardi had me taking MulTaq and Met suc. I was told later that met suc isn't helpful for vagal - which is how my AF appeared to be initiated before becoming persistent. Only 1 ECV. What's different this time. Lower D, should be lower calcium, lower BNP. lower weby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Que - Congratulations! How long did you have af issues ? To what degree ? I am head to austin if things don't get better soon. I've exhausted almost all possibilitiesby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, Thanks - yes in those initial episodes I tried valsalva - modified valsalva and cool water immersion because they were the first tips I cam up with. As always multi-interventional but initially it appeared that valsalva had some merit. This co2 approach is different. In that it's a deep exhale that initiates the hold. I have an spo02 to check what's happening. Iby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Early on one of the fake news outlets (extreme sarcasm) did a story where they used a powder and some children to show how covid could spread extremely easily in an environment. In less than an hour, the children and teacher were covered in this powder. Hands, faces, etc. People are being foolish to not get this reality. Sooner or later - definitely choose later to never if you can becausby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Folks - there is so much unknown about this virus that it is ridiculous to open up the country and free ball it. You can cite stats but none of us are A+ health and can guarantee N=1 survival - let some other idiot be the test monkey. Healthy MDs et al are dying from viral load. That's one elevator, one plane trip, one meal in a restaurant, one trip to the nail salon or singing?by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Joe - I can and will do that. I have some pink himalayan salt as well as Redmansby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
George - BNPs at hospital during event # 1 BNPs of 168 and 192. (high and OOR!) This is definitely a place to explore. Will follow through Thanksby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM

I work on handling stress differently. I am getting better at realizing that barking dogs, cars without mufflers, booming stereos are just a fact of life anymore. At heart I am drawn to these quiet peaceful places like the upper peninsula of Denmark. Nature - relaxing and not worrying about much other than enjoying time and family. My AF may possibly be contributed to by immediate familby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hate to ask this but is my cardi not being aggressive or thoughtful about this? 1. He had me on MulTaq and met suc for # 1 ECV. Probably would have insisted same for # 2 if I hadn't told him that HR was in the 40s with both. 2. Discourages use of flecanide because of higher CAC score but no history of 'structural heart' issues - I noticed my ejection fraction at hospital ER wby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm giving it a try. The worst that could happen is I lose some pericardial fat (a contributor to AF), have some autophagy creates some new healthy cells, and I lose some visceral and sub q fat. For me, fasting isn't stressful and nor is moderate physical activity (I do specific workouts for collateralization). Joe - did you do anything to ensure your minerals, electrolytes etcby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've ridden my bike at the same level of effort, speed, wind effects etc in both AF and NSR. My HR is 20-30 BPM higher in AF when under load. In fact I found it difficult (perceived effort) to get my NSR HR as high as AF HR. A heart in NSR is more efficient than one in AF. Under what conditions does efficient heart rhythm become necessary? A theory: Is it possible an extended fasby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Understood. Thank you.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Some differences this time - lower D and calcium, no met suc this time and way more 'saturated' going into it. Last time maybe 4.5 days of MulTaq, this time 21 days so it's possible MulTaq will work this time. (hope so anyway) By the way is MulTaq size dependent, would a 50kg person need less than a 100kg person.?by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey, Would amiodarone be better choice over MulTaq for or after next ECV ? I had it before and tolerated it. I think, but can't be sure, original meds from hospital were amiodarone, met tartrate and dilziatem Recall 1st ECV - current cardi had me on MulTaq and met suc and NSR only lasted 90 hrs. I haven't tried tikosyn. I think I am willing to try more drugsby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Since having persistent AF I've tried and hasn't had an effect: acupuncture - taurine - Steve Carrs protocol - > D, < calcium, precise EPA/DHA, cranberry extract Eliminating all alcohol, caffeine, sugar and carbs (glycation) and other AF triggers even if not identified in me Reduction of hsCRP - now in range via CPAP Dr. Davis mag water George's mag/by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I hate to write this but have to. Assume I am low mag and pot - I take 4gms a day (sipping) and have normal visits to the toilet for 4 days. On day 5 + these visits become emergencies, if you know what I mean. Think of the way they advertise furniture and appliance bankruptcy sales on TV, aka "emergency blowout liquidation" or EBL from now on. So I am having a seriesby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Much more relieved now. That's the only dose I've missed in 10.5 months. This is just another ECV but headed to Austin if this one doesn't stick. I'll follow Dr. N's notes to the letter. Thanks Shannon.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just lessons learned through life. If things can be used against you, they can be, years even decades later. A little more about this - I was looking through my hospital labs the other day to see if they did BNP (they did) but also found they tested for just about every drug possibility out there. I imagine those things could be later found out by an insurance company and others.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
What's a good keyword to search for these SNPs ? Thanksby NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey - this is the first time this has happened to me but I missed taking my pills Thursday AM - one of those is 5mg Eliquis. I normally take very close to 9 AM and 9 PM. I have an ECV scheduled about 10 days from now. Would I need a tee from missing this one pill? Thanks.by NotLyingAboutMyAfib - AFIBBERS FORUM
