I went to see an NP this morning to check out my rash. This NP looked at it and immediately said that it was Shingles and prescribed a antibiotic cream. I did speak with a doctor in the anti-coagulation dept. at U of M to let her know and apparently I will stay on Eliquis. A question is in my mind which I didn't think to ask the doctor and she is gone for the day now. Could the Eliquiby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: (the ekg shows the atrial activity, for example fibrillation, but the stethoscope doesn't. From the valve closings that we hear with the stethoscope, we don't know for sure if the atria are fibrillating. It seems that the best we can do is to listen with the stethoscope while connected to an ekg and look for correlations between the stethoscope and ekg in order to be ableby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I really have a bad rash now, it is on my back, shoulders, my sides and some on my stomach, I have a few moles but I have had some, the rash is around the moles and it itches. I called the doctor that prescribed the Eliquis and he wasn't in, they said his nurse would call me and she never did. I will call tomorrow and also try to get in to a Dermatologic. I am in trouble if thby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti fib They have set the date for me to be Cardioverted on the 16th of Jan., I still am in AF but it is so mild that I constantly take my pulse to see if I really am in AF. The only time when I know I am in AF is when I go walking and doing some heavy work, otherwise when just moving around in my house my heartrate is quite normal, it is strange. They have sent me a script to get someby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan: Oh my gosh that is awful, a rash on your face, ears and inside your eyelids, how long did it last, I hope you no longer are taking Multag. I was thinking about taking Benadryl, I just wasn't sure if it is ok to take while taking Eliquis. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Smackman": The dermatologist wasn't in today, I will call tomorrow, get this checked out. I know I read that Eliquis can give some a rash, it could be caused by something else, it just is at the same time that I am taking this drug. Are you in still in AF? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I didn't get much sleep last night because I was itching---I have always had a few small moles on my chest and back but the last few days my back, stomach area, shoulders and neck are really itchy, I have showered which makes it feel better for a little while. Then I just want to itch and I have scratched some areas rather bad.. I have had some itchy moles but not anything quite like thiby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Oh ok, I used to get a hormone cream from a compounding pharmacy that my Holistic doctor ordered from, I believe there is also one not to far from me, I will check it out, thanks. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan: I don't think there are any mom and pop drug stores around, at least we don't have any. We don't know how long drugs are sitting in drug stores before use.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
So if a person is in permanent AF and isn't bothered too much by their AF they might be better off just taking a blood thinner/drugs, reduced pumping action can cause fatigue, can't it? Perhaps that is why Mayor Bloomberg and Biden didn't get an ablation, at least I havn't read that they have done so. If one would get a Watchman and not an ablation, their pumping action shoby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I didn't say being in afib was a positive. Having afib doesn't detract from a person's ability to do a job and do it well as long as they get proper care. Please don't be telling people that. There are hundreds of people reading this and many of them are new to afib, scared, and just trying to learn what the facts are. Don't tell them they're facing failure. Carey: I only know that now that I am in permanent AF I am not as strong and get tried quicker--if you think that is positive then why did you opt for 6 ablations? I would never want a person that is in permanent AF to run this great country. Sorry I will say no more. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well, here is another one---I never dreamed that I was in such excellent health with AF, I wonder if that makes you all with Afib feel so much better, heck, we should be running for president, maybe that is a requirement. What is a non-valvular Afib, is that better than what most of us have? Biden "is a healthy, vigorous, 77-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties oby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gee, didn't know that being in AF classifies a person as being in excellent health. Evidently he didn't have an ablation. Anti fib Thank you, very helpful, I will see if they will schedule me for a tee and the shock. After being on Eliquis for only 5 days, I already got a bloodshot eye and I notice I am getting some hair loss, dang that is a heck of a pill. I just made a contact with the EPs office and they will schedule the tee/cardioversion, they will be calling me back for the date and time--hope I have soby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: I went to get my eye checked and they said it was just broken veins, and should take about a week to heal. My other eye is OK.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: Thank you that would be very helpful. The EP I saw on Tuesday was a Dr. Ural at U of Michigan. Would it be wise to wait for the new Watchman that is supposed to be available in March 2020? lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Anti fib Wow, 20 times and did it always put you in NSR and how long would it last? I guess you are on a blood thinner, do you have any problems with it. Is your BP a little higher when you are in AF? lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: I spoke with a lady about the Watchman and she said it depended upon my doctor. My eye might make a difference to him, I think my EP that I have had for years would be okay with it. Are most EPs that do these type of procedures OK or do I need a guy like Natalie? I was advised by a woman that works with the EP I saw Tuesday to have my primary doctor check my eye, so I am waiting onby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well it is starting----This afternoon my left eye started hurting and when I looked in the mirror the white is a dark red. I told them I got red eyes from Coumadin, now my one eye is all red. I'll see if it happens in my right eye and if so what is the next step. I believe that I need the Watchman as I may not be able to tolerate blood thinners. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: I went into AF around the 9th of Nov., so a month, my heartrate isn't high and I don't feel bad just a little tried when doing a lot of walking etc. that is why I had to take a blood thinner being in permanent AF. I will try the meds and cardio conversion and if that doesn't work, I will see. My oxygen saturation is 98% which is good. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I saw a new EP today at U of M, didn't talk long, I still am in AF. He said if I wanted to try meds and heart conversion (the electric charge), I said yes so I will start taking a med tonight (the only one you don't have to go to the hospital for) Propafenone (don't have much faith in it). Since I only started Eliquis Sat., he said that I would have to wait 4 weeks or else do theby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

When I first got AF, the doctor I went to prescribed a Beta Blocker, it made me very tried, then when going into NSR from AF, my heartrate dropped to almost a flat line, a pacemaker was implanted. I was in my EPs office, during that time, and my chart was on the door to the room I was in, I read it, he wrote that he believed the Beta Blocker I was taking was responsible for my 1st degree heartby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

I got a call today from the Pharmacist from U of M that is handling my anti coagulant, we also talked yesterday he wanted to give me the 5 mg. of Eliquis. I told him that I would rather he prescribe the 2.5 and wasn't real keen on the twice a day. So today when he called he said the doctors he has been talking to said to change the drug from Eliquis to Xarelto. I said that I had understooby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Are most members here that are taking blood thinners on Eliquis and if not what do you take? I am not very happy as I will be taking a blood thinner, probably Eliquis but I don't like the idea of having to take 2 pills a day. So, if anybody is taking a different med., are you ok with it. Our drugs are the most expensive in the world. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
