Too bad they can't figure out what is causing AF and cure it, everything is slash and burn. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have a very good doctor, I have been with him for almost 20 years, he knows me well and is being very cautious. I know you don't need blood drawn with Eliquis only with Coumadin. They have already checked my INR. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan:' In the beginning of my AF career I was given Coumadan, I took it for a while and then I started having bloodshot eyes and when just opening a door, my thumb filled with blood and I had to stop it. So, with my low platelets they are being cautious. I will end up no doubt taking the 2.5. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
My doctors are going over my blood draws, also some other tests to determine the mg. I am to take. The holiday is slowing things up for me. I have low platelets, lower than the lab scale. I will not take the 5 mg. as I am sure I will have problems with it, if I take Eliquis.. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan: My Creatinine is in range but my urea nitrogen (bun) are not, my Bun is a little high, my doctor said I should drink more water, I know I don't drink enough, I have taken baby aspirin off and on for a few years, I don't have any GI pain, I imagine I will have more problems with a blood thinner. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken: I am over 80 My Creatinine is 0.87 Creatinine ratio should be 0.60 - 0.88 I weigh about what I should. I even have trouble with supplements I don't think they should be giving me the 5 mg. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey Why would you want to take Eliquis over aspirin? I don't think most people would. The pacer clinic called this afternoon and wanted me to send another transcription from my home monitor, they already have one that I sent one a week ago, they have an EkG from this past Mon. and they want more, but my machine died so I couldn't send one I have to get a new St Jude machine.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Why are some people required to take 5.0 Eliquis and others only 2.5? I have had a bad month and a 1/2, It started on a sunday my hands and arms were shaking, I also had it Monday. I thought it was probably my thyroid as the TSH was only 0.57 which is on the very low of the lab scale (which means I am could be a little hyper). I had been taking the same mcgs for quite a while, and felt goby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: I don't have Medicare part D, I have Medicare A and B, I also have Silver Script (for prescriptions), Blue cross (for the 20%). I am able to go to any doctor. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have Silver script for prescription drugs and Medicare. I will probably have to go on blood thinners (yuk), I understand that Eliquis is very expensive could someone tell me how much it is? All I am taking now is synthroid. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just thought all of my AF episodes were recorded, did not realize that they might not be, seems like you have to learn everything by yourself. Lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
by Kona - (I have occassional Afib, but my pacemaker usually doesn't record it. That's because the "Atrial High Rate Episode Dection Rate = 180". Since my Afib events are usually 120-150, the pacemaker doesn't record it. I've asked about it and they say below 180 is not significant! ) The above is taken from the Pacer site--- My heart rate in AF doesn&by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: Yes, they are checking the Creatinine and Bun--and I also have low platelets. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: I used to take one tab. of Propafenone (150 mg.) on a regular basis until the last 6 months--taking an extra 1/2 tab. of Propafenone when I got AF made my heart rate strange like it was struggling to beat and I felt weak, I just quit taking the Propafenone everyday. However when I got AF (which was usually at night vagal, ), I would take 1 tab. and go to bed, the one didn't bothby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Antifib and Carey: I have always taken an extra Propafenone when I was in AF it has been about 20 years that I have been doing this. I am concerned that I am not sure when I am in AF, I know that something isn't right, but I thought that I was getting some PVCs. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been getting more AF episodes, it was always easy to know when I was in AF, now it is more difficult, at times I can tell but when sitting down and resting it doesn't feel like it. I have a pacer and sent in my pacer results this afternoon, I called for the results and was told that I was in AF now and at least 3 times since the 9th of Nov. but they said I am in it off and on and tby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe: I have learned to be careful with what some of these people say that you should take this or that or we have certain problems because of eating nuts, some fruits and veggies. Especially potassium, when I first came to this board most everyone was saying that they take pot. and we should take it for AF. Well, I did take Pot. and when I took it I started getting a lot of palps and some AFby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Susan: The pacemakers were implanted in the horses to induce AF. Heavy exercise has induced AF, there has been a few posters here that have cut back on their exercise because of it causing their AF. Hopefully we will learn a lot more in the next few years.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Why is Afib given so little attention? Even if it's not going to kill you, it's considered serious, isn't it? Because doctors don't know what causes AF and when it stops they don't know why-----they just plain havn't got enough knowledge. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: Thank you for your explanation. lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is the LARIAT still being performed? It sounds much simpler than the Watchman, it doesn't have anything added in the closure of the LAA like the Watchman does?by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I stand corrected: Shannon said: As Carey noted above my stroke was from a very different mechanism 11 months after my LARIAT LAA Ligation procedure, back before Watchman was FDA approved ( and thus I do not have Watchman device) but I did have both a LARIAT procedure, plus I had an Amplatzer Duct Occluder-2 vascular plug installed to plug the central ‘pucker’ very late leak in my LARIAT prby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey says: The Watchman has been in use in the US since 2015 and having one collapse or develop leaks later is unheard of. Within about six weeks after placement your own endothelial tissue grows over it and once that happens it's never going anywhere and can't develop leaks. Sorry not true, I had to respond. Shannon has posted about his TIA because of a leak.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: I have had a lot of blood work done by Dr. B over the years and I don't see where he has run a cortisol test on me. I don't know why as I have told him I have problems with sleep. I am getting very leery with some of these supplements as they have caused me problems. I thank you for your reply. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I have taken Zorex I.R.F for sleep, it pufs me out, but it makes me sleep and sleep. It has tetrahydfopataine. antbody take this dru/i It is awfulby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Good article, thanks. I do get something from my foot doc. called Clarus it has 1 % Tolnaftate, it keeps the fungus from getting bad but doesn't get rid of It. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I read most of the reports on GABA which are very glowing, my Holistic doc. gave me GABA to take. I won't be seeing him for quite a few months but when I do I will tell him about my experience. I don't know why it affected me the way it did, I recall I did try GABA a long time ago and I had a problem, I don't remember exactly how it affected me as it was so long ago. I am gladby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Is anybody taking GABA? I have been trying some natural things for sleep, and tried GABA early this morning when I was having a problem falling asleep. I did fall asleep, I had a bad dream and woke up with my heart pounding, it took a few hours to calm down, I will never take it again. Why is GABA touted as helping to relax when it caused me such fast heartbeat, I tried to take my pulse and Iby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
TSH .54 T4, free 1.2 T3 free 2,4 T3 Reverse 21 My free T3 has always bee a little low, but I won't take Cytomel, I remember taking cytomel a long time ago, I felt good for a while then I started getting very shaky and nervous, so that ended that. it may not be my thyroid I don't know what happened, I don't know if something has been going around. I woke up this morning wby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi. I have been sick the last 4 days, Sun. and Mon. I shook, my hands just kept shaking and I just keep sleeping. I was at Dr. B.s office a couple of weeks ago and he ran tests for my thyroid he said I was good. My TSH was .50 my free t3 and free T4 were in range, Well too much thyroid hormone I have been in AF every week, I called Dr. B and he wasn't in today, anyway I stopped the thby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
