So you are saying that a 90 day supply of Eliquis costs $80 usually? I don't think that is bad, I have a 90 day supply of Synthroid (thyroid) which costs around $80.00, Propafnone (90 days) costs around $50.00. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Why do all of these docs do Ablations when they can't fix the problem, surely if Natalie can do it why isn't there doctors studying his methods so whatever they are doing wrong can be changed. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: I got an Aura Migraine in my late teens, I had gone on a stupid diet for about 2 days and then it hit me. I never got a lot of them throughout the years but did get a few, it appeared to me as something I took (like certain kinds of supplements) that I might get one. I have noticed that I have gotten an aura occasionally when I had AF, not everytime however. I didn't get any AFby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was wondering is the Propafenone could be causing my Aura Migraines, I took a little extra propafenone last night and chewed it. It is nasty chewing it but it gets in the blood stream faster that way. I got the Aura in the morning. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I got an Aura Migraine last night and I had AF yesterday, wondering if any connection. Aura migraine headache is sort of a chemical or electrical wave that moves across the brain’s visual cortex. AF is an electrical connection, so both are electrical problems, I guess I am just charged. Wondering if there is something that is triggering these electrical problems. Years ago I got an Aura migraby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: Josiah said that he has been taking Amiodarone for two years, that drug is bad and is known to affect the thyroid, that may be why he is having problems with his thyroid. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Amiodarone has a high Iodine content which can affect the thyroid, taking T3 and Amiodarone, wow yes indeed it could cause AF. I take Synthroid because I had most of my thyroid nuked as I had Graves disease (hyper thyroid), I was feeling a little tried and took extra thyroid meds and that is how I got my first episode of AF, if I have too much thyroid hormone or not enough it can produce AF. Catherine; Go to and read the recent messages, there is quite a few posts about people that have had AV node ablations. I agree with George, that would be the last resort. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Allserene When I got my first episodes of AF, my doctor put me on a beta blocker, I felt terrible, no energy. Then when I got an episode of AF and going back in NSR my heart rate dropped to a flat line for a few seconds, it was caught in my doctors office. My EP had me immediately admitted to the hospital for a pacemaker. I was in my EPs office one time and happened to read my chart and heby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Geez, now nuts are bad? I don't think so, I eat nuts almost everyday I have for years, they are not fried or salted. Nuts are good for you, so are beans, meat, veggies and fruits, we always have these gurus coming out with some gadget or diet. They don't live any longer than most of us. They claim with that gadget they can check a 20 year old and be able to tell about how long he woby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Shannon: Thank you for the clarification, I had thought it was the Watchman that you had, sorry. I had remembered that you were on nattokinanse and it didn't protect you, I have doubts that in some situations nothing can protect against a clot. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: . The anticoagulants.stop new clots from forming, but doesn't your own body dissolve a clot once it is formed? I will have to say that Shannon had a stroke after his Watchman and he said he was on a natural anticoagulant, I think he said it was Nattonkinase. Of course as Jackie says you need to have the necessary tests of your blood to know how clots can affect you. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes, going without food, especially protein, will cause me pacs, goes away after I eat. I don't know how people can go for days without eating anything and believe that it is good for them. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Carey you could be right, eat more salmon and see if it causes AF, it was just so weird that it happened after my reading that article. I usually eat the canned Red Salmon, it is supposed to be wild caught. I don't know about that blogger. I read this on a blog of the Peoples Phramacy about fish (salmon) which I am sure we all have heard how good it is for us. { about 6 years ago I began heart irregularities, I read that there are more cases of A-fib in Norway than other places and that the high amount of salmon that is consumed was associated with too much Omega 3 from salmon. After quitting both eating salmon and fish oil caby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteBrian_og Here's another link. One question I have is does it matter if you're not still in AFib? Or is this not a problem if you're in nsr? Whether the hypercoagulate state causes stasis of the blood on the laa faster and thus when you go back into nsr you get the stroke, or something else that's nothing to do with that? Brian, when I coughed up blood clotby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Smackman: That is good that you had no problems, perhaps most people don't but there are many that do have problems. In fact, we have had several posts from people who have had a stroke after stopping AOCs. I myself coughed up some blood clots after stopping Coumadin, this happened a couple of weeks after the stoppage, I was very lucky, so it can happen. I don't know what you do aby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Mr. Norris: I have a Holistic doctor that was doing some exercises and he went into AF (his first), he said he took some Hawthorne berry and converted into NSR. It seems that people that are Adrenergic (those that get their AF in the daytime after some kind of workout) Hawthorne Berry may help them. I saw my Holistic doctor a few weeks ago and asked him if he had gotten anymore AF episodes aby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok, I had blood work done last week and got the results today---my Vit. D is 37, my parathyroid is alright, Cal. ok. I know my Vit. helps the intestines absorb calcium. However, the vitamin D must first be activated or "turned on" by parathyroid hormone (PTH). Once activated, vitamin D acts to greatly increase the amount of calcium that the intestines can absorb from food, sometimes by as much as two to four times.
