65 and Older: 99% Have Microbleeds—So Are Anticoagulants Risky? Published March 28, 2016. In a recent study, 99% of subjects aged 65 or older had evidence of microbleeds; and closer examination of the cranial MRI images revealed an increased number of detectable microbleeds (i.e., the closer they looked, the more microbleeds they found). JPeters: Well, my 1st. degree heart block wasn't in my head, I have a pacemaker because of it. I got an EP instead of the MD that I was seeing and I happened to read his notes on my chart that my 1st. degree heart block was probably due to the beta blocker. jpeters: Atenolol is a beta blocker, which Hans Larsen, the creator of this site, called the medicine from hell. When I first got AF the doc had me taking a beta blocker, Atenolol, which gave me a first degree heart block, (before this site). There are different beta blockers of course, but I stay away from them. liz Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

I hope everything goes well for all in this trial test. Why are they having this trial test now when the Watchman has been on the market and implanted in people. Is the device made out of different material, I have read about the dangers of the polypropylene meshes that were used which caused problems. I have thought about having the watchman but still iffy. Ken: I am vagal so a lot of AF episodes started after I was in bed. Lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anne: I have no idea why they had me pacing at 80, the pacer was implanted because when going back into NSR from an AF episode my heart rate would drop to almost a flat line for a few seconds, I felt like I would black out but didn't. I happened to be in my doctor's office when this happened so my EP said I needed a pacer immediately, which I got. That was in 1998 and I was fine, I hby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
A couple of days ago, (2 days shy of 3 months) I got a episode of AF, I puffed and puffed, the episode lasted only 2 and 1/2 hours one of the shortest episodes for me. After the puffing my chest felt full like I needed to burp, I finally burped (a mammoth burp) and my AF stopped and I went into NSR. Heartrate dropped into the 60s, which is my normal heartrate. It Assumes Your Atrial Fibrillation Burden Doesn’t Matter Common sense would tell you that when it comes to your atrial fibrillation stroke risk, being out of rhythm all the time is probably much riskier than only being out of rhythm less than 1% of the time. And, as you might suspect, studies back this up. CHADS-VASc, however, doesn’t care. To the CHADS-VASc score, one brief minute of atriby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

QuoteCarey Y'all can think what you want. I think this thread has become futile. What exactly is the purpose of this site, it appears that it has become about ablations, two, three maybe, or how about the left atrial appendage, then you can go on lifetime anti coagulants, oh, then you can get a watchman device, sounds like a lot of operations. I have had a garden, fruit trees and berries for over 40 years, I have always said there is nothing that is truly organic. I weed my plants but in big commercial growers there is no way they can do that, if they did, the prices would be out of sight. According to a statement by the American Heart Association, taking aspirin within two days of an ischemic stroke reduces the severity of the stroke. In some cases, it prevents death. The whole notion that "natural" supplements are safer than medications in general is a fallacy. Ho, ho, it would be rare if someone died from supplements, but there are many that die from drugs, it even has happened with Eliquis, one of your favorites. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
