“How long do I have to be in A-Fib before I develop a clot and have a stroke?” When blood is stagnant and not being pumped out of the left atrium, a clot can form. When the left atrium starts beating again, this clot can be pushed downstream into the left ventricle which then pumps this clot into the legs, lungs, brain or other organs causing an ischemic stroke. But these clots aren’t formby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Colin for your response to my question. But actually your BP numbers before Natto were pretty good. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Colin: What was your BP before you started on natto? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: Dr. Brownstein does not agree with the new BP numbers. My Systolic numbers are between 130 and 145, my Diastolic numbers are in the 60s and 70s never have gone higher. The doctors today give out BP meds like candy, my husband and brother had perfect BP numbers but both died in their late 70s. Older people are on so many meds today, they are not any more healthier than older people oby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is there a study of all the people who have had a stroke whether they also had AF or heart disease? I am sure there isn't, I have known a few people that have had a stroke and did not have AF. Seems like we can always find a study to support our views and there sure is a lot of them out there today. So many people are on BP meds, most are elderly, you know when we are older our arteriesby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Oh, that's great, you described it perfectly, that is what I did and it didn't take long as you said. I didn't take intakes of breath, I just kept puffing. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe: Yes, Natto is made from soybeans, soy is a no, no for Thyroid people, Natto is made from fermented soybeans so not quite as bad as just plain soy. Nevertheless, it probably will affect the uptake of your thyroid hormone, maybe you could take a little iodine like Lugos iodine. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I didn't take an intake of breath I just keep blowing out, like poof, poof, poof, poof until I couldn't anymore, didn't take too long, my AF stopped---I think a Valsalva maneuver is where you bear down hard, that isn't what I did, I just puffed hard and fast, I guess it is hard to explain. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have to tell about something that has happened, George N. wrote about CO2 and AF, I don't know what I would call what has happened but I stopped AF from occurring 3 times now. The last time was last night, I went into AF, what I did was to keep blowing out hard for a few min. (puffing) without taking any intake of breath, it made me just slightly dizzy but it STOPPED my AF, my heart wentby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been working in my garden and really sweating, drips in my eyes and down my face. I havn't had an episode of AF for the last 5 weeks, I don't carry a water bottle with me, I go in and drink some water every so often but I don't drink the amounts that a lot of people on here say they do. I have been with Blue Cross for many, many years but they have raised their rates, doubling it, so with Blue X, Medicare and prescription coverage my ins. every month is quite high. Last Nov. I tried to get another supplemental Ins., there are cheaper ones out there, but was denied because of my existing AF, so I have to stick with Blue X. Obamacare does nothing for me. Shannon: Afib is a highly individualized malady, some people don't even feel it, some are in a very bad way, I know you understand this. For me, I am going on having episodes of AF for almost 20 years, I didn't get them very often for many years, they came in the evening when at rest. I found this forum and read about magnesium, which I started taking, I read where George N. said tby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I found this video, very interesting, about Cardiac Arrhythmias, the missed cause Dr. John Bergman says if there is an inbalance in the automatic nervous system there is problems. Many on this site are vagal/parasympathetic find that exercise can bring about NSR. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Has anyone heard of Molekule, it is an air filter system, my granddaughter sent me one. I don't know anything about it whether it is worth the money or is beneficial. I have a pacemaker, don't know if there would be any problems with this system. It has a filter which is supposed to clean the air which you change, I believe in 6 months. j. OK, truce. Sometimes hard to distinguish between all in the written word, a lot easier in person. Please don't leave, we need your sense of "humor" Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
You have taken my words out of context: I didn't say that people coming here are stupid, Carey said 'many coming here may not be able to distinguish between nonsense and useful information. I have found that most that have come here are very intelligent, they found this site and have added a lot. Adios Lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: I have always thought that the General Health Forum was for problems other than AF, anything to do with AF was on the AF forum. So, if I have something that has curbed my AF, not cured but has lessened my episodes I then have to post it on the General Health Forum because there are no studies that have validated my claim. A lot of claims throughout the years that have helped peopleby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

5 ablations done in teaching hospitals? They didn't take so it didn't matter whether you asked for the top guy. lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jpeters: I agree with what you have said, we should be able to speak about the different things coming down the pike, whether they are about diet, supplements or stem cell. This has always been an informant site from way back, it seems that now it has become about ablations mostly. It is good and necessary to talk about ablations but don't stifle other innovations. Jackie: The point is, is he correct about calcium is needed with magnesium in order for it to be absorbed effectively, maybe that is why some of us are still low on magnesium even with taking it everyday. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Calcium is not well thought of on this board yet according to the URL Jackie gave to Mark Hyman, he says this: 5 – Boost Effectiveness with Calcium: To be absorbed effectively, magnesium should preferably be taken along with calcium. The ratio of calcium to magnesium for women, is 2:1 whereas for the ideal ratio for men is 1:1 as men require less calcium. Hyman is saying that Magnesium doesnby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Anne: I got a pacer because when I was in AF and going into NSR, my heartrate would almost flat line for a few seconds, that was caught in my doctors office, I would almost black out when that happened. That only happened to me when going from AF to NSR. I have had no problems with the pacer which I have had for many years and I feel safer when going into NSR from AF.
