Mike E. Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, you were taking a blood thinner to prevent a stroke and yet it happened to you. Were you taking the lower dose or the higher dose of Eliquis? How are you feeling now, I hope you are ok, I really don't know why Eliquis and xeralto came on the market at this time as there isn't an antidote for either of them. I know I will get slammed for saying whby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
What was the reason your cardiology said not to get the watchman device? I have read some good things about it, do you also read the AF board? If you do, then you know who Shannon is, he has a watchman device and is happy, he doesn't have to take these blood thinners. Dr. Natale's hospital does do the watchman device installation. Protein is an essential nutrient that your body needs. Your body is constantly breaking down proteins in your cells, organs and tissues. I wouldn't mind eating this way, except for tofu which a lot of vegetarians eat, but it isn't for me. Tofu is made from curdled soy milk, soy is not good for one, especially people with thyroid problems. A protein is a pretty simple thing. No wonder you are tried, your food sounds good but there isn't any good protein in your diet. For me, I have to have some good protein in the form of meat, chicken, fish or some beef, otherwise, I have no energy. George: Ha, ha, ha, yep I am 40 something, I guess one could say that, its the something that is bothersome. George do you recall that Hans did a survey once asking how many had less AF in the summer months and there were a few of us. Why do you lay down when you get AF? AF gets me when I am at rest or after eating and resting or sleeping. During the day when working, moving around Iby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: Glad you are OK and didn't take too long to convert, I guess we always have to be vigilant about AF. Does DR. Gundry have any ideas in regards to AF? Wolfpack: and bill Thanks for the explanation of a heart block.. When I first got AF, my doc. put me on a beta blocker, my EP believes that is what led to my first degree heart block. Good question Mike, I wondered why one would have to take an aspirin for life, the Watchman Device is supposed to stop clots in the heart. Why an aspirin when we are told that doesn't work as well as the blood thinners. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: A Watchman Device can be installed without isolating the LAA. My AF episodes are not that bad or long, they are tolerable, my only concern is clots, I have had problems with Coumadin so my worry is a clot that could cause a stroke. An ablation may or may not work, also, blood thinners may still be needed, isolating the LAA does not guarantee that you will not need a blood thinner.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Closing off the LAA with the watchman device, will that affect the pumping ability of the heart. A lot of our medical problems are no doubt because of our DNA, but it does skip around, my mother had AF, didn't start until the age of 80 and she went into it permanently. I have 2 brothers and they never had any episodes of AF. It is possible I might not have gone into AF if I had not taken too much thyroid meds. which made me hyper. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Also, about aspirin, my husband took aspirin, 2 or 4 a day, we were married for 27 years, he also took them before our marriage, he had an old football injury.
