Jackie: Dr Brownstein never seemed to think i needed to test for MTHFR---perhaps because my homosystene is low and my B12 has always been high, in fact it used to be always higher than the lab value, I always wondered why it was so high. However the next time I see him I will ask him. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Fibrillator: i question why you get so many auras after your ablation, there is a connection. I have gotten them because of some supplements, also started getting them after using a hormone cream, stopped it and the auras stopped. It appears to me that something triggers them and when stopped so do they. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I have never had the MTHFR test---but my b12 was always over the lab scale, it now is just under and my B vit. always tested ok, Homosystene was good as well. I have tried all kinds of things, some times it helps then I get them again. I guess I am just wired wrong. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
AB Page: Well that is two so far that have had auras after an ablation, there has got to have some kind of correlation. Maybe Shannon can weight in and when he sees Dr. Natalie he could run it by him. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Fib: Sorry to hear about your aura migraines I don't know which is worse sometimes AF or those Auras., i posted to see if after an ablation, according to the article, how many on this site had any problems with these auras. I also was wondering if there is any correlation between AF and Aura Migraines. I have had a few aura migraines throughout my life but only a couple a year. Thinkby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone have migraines and AF? Conclusion We have hereby reported the case of a new onset typical visual aura 1 day after transseptal catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, followed by the patient’s usual headaches. Although migraine and migraine aura have been reported in association with invasive cardiac interventions, the exact relationship between these migraine phenomena andby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: I am not on the regime that you are on, although I do eat a lot of vegetables, good protein, I do eat beans some bread. I looked up my last blood draw and my A1C is 5.3 not as low as you or your wife but still not bad as I do not eat like you. Also, my blood draws are usually in the afternoon, so it is after I have eaten, that also might make a difference. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have heard Robert Kennnedy speak on the subject of vaccines for many years, doubtful he needs the money. I hope we all can comment on different subjects dealing with our health in a give and take manner without fear of being told it is crap. Hans Larsen, founder of this site, believed in natural, non-pharmaceutical approaches even to stroke prevention. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Jackie; Thank you for your splendid reporting on an important subject. lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Jackie: I'm with you, I have never gotten a Flu shot, I live out in the country, raise a lot of my food, try to keep healthy. My mother went through that flu epidemic of 1918, my uncles, aunt, grandparents and didn't get the flu. They lived on a farm so they were more isolated, I would think that people living in close proximity to one another like the cities were more prone to getby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Amyorca; Don't you take any anti-arrhythmic drugs, at least when you get any episode of AF, as a "pill in a pocket" to as least shorten your episodes. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe: I am sure the longer daylight has something to do with AF---however, in June and July I had 1 AF episode in each month, I did go longer in AUG., SEPT AND 1/2 OF OCT., so I had a longer run without AF in the last 3 months, I was trying to figure out why. We sometimes tend to grasp at straws and why not, the medical field doesn't really know what causes our AF, they don't know wby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I don't know what will happen tomorrow, but for the last 19 years I have had episodes of AF and am still paroxysmal. I do take one tab (150mg.) of Propafenone at night before bed (I am vagal). , my episodes range from 3 hours to about 12., sometimes I can go for longer periods like 2 months then it seems in the wintertime my episodes are a little more frequent. The funny thing is theby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Amyorca: Have you had your potassium level checked to see if you need extra Potassium? A few years ago i added a potassium supplement and I started getting short runs of AF during the day, i am vagal and didn't get AF during the day. I quit taking the potassium and the runs of AF stopped. My Potassium level is good so I didn't need any extra Potassium. Hope you are doing good.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kat: I am vagal AF, which means that I get AF episodes in the evening. My EP has me taking Propafenone at night before bedtime (150mg.), I have been on this med. for a number of years, I have had no problems with the med. My EP seems not to like Flecainide for me or maybe he doesn't like working with that drug, I will ask him the next time I see it. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
This was a new girl, she was quite young, she was not very friendly because I got caught in a traffic jam on the way there, the traffic was moving extremely slow and it made me late. The water that she used wasn't real forceful, just water, she said that water cleans the teeth better than using the scaler, all that water kept gagging me, they usually use their pick to check around the teeby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I went to my dentist yesterday for a cleaning, the hygienist did the cleaning with a distilled water stream, she did'n't use a pick, she said that the water stream cleaned better. She put the tool in my mouth that helps with the water being sprayed in my mouth, but that didn't help much as I was gagging. She then used the paste to polish my teeth, I feel like my teeth aren'tby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Peggy: Do you still get episodes of AF? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I am a year older than you, I have had AF since the late 90s, about 18 years, at first the episodes were only about a couple/year. They increased over the years but after finding this site and taking Magnesium they lessened to every few months, sometimes a little more or less. Now when I get an episode of AF I take mag. and an aspirin, and chew a tab. of Propfenone (aka george) and iby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
It would depend on a person's age, if you are younger than 75 than an ablation and any succeeding ablations, watchman any blood thinners meds would be different. If one is in their late 70s and beyond then I say again "why go through one or more ablations, maybe a watchman and blood thinners. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes we need salt but the right kind, Celtic sea salt, it has minerals whereby regular table salt has only sodium and chloride. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well George I do take Propafenone everyday---I take one 150mg. tab every night at bedtime, my Ep didn't like Flec. for me. What is the difference if there is some beta blocker in Propafenone or taking some beta blocker with Flec as it indicated to so? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Reading about all of those people that have had ablations and now have problems with the pumping of the LAA and having to stay on blood thinners for life unless they have another proceedure done is scary . Why go through all of that? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: I have read that if you get AF then you do have cardiovascular issues. I am vagal but this supplement that Dr. B said for me to take is CircuFlow, 3 tabs/day. I know what you are saying, that taking Hawthorne berry would not benefit us as it did for Dr.. B because he is adrenergic. However I take Propafenone (which has a beta blocker) and chew it when I get an episode of AF and it hby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
CircuFlow helps maintain cardiovascular system and a healthy circulatory system, I don't know if there would be any interactions with xeralto. I wouldn't take it without first asking your doctor. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jennifer: It is a supplement which contains various herbs along with Hawthorne berry. The name of the supplement is CircuFlow, I got it from my doctor. Hawthorne berry is the most popular heart supplement in France, Germany and Switzerland. The bottle says Kroeger Herb products co. inc. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jennifer: Dr. Brownstein has a book "Salt your way to Health". He says Patients do not feel well when sodium levels are lowered. Their energy level drops and develop hormonal and immune system imbalances. He says "low-salt diets have been shown to raise fasting insulin levels". The kind of salt to use is "celtic sea salt" which contains minerals, refined saltby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: He said that he was exercising and went into AF, so it was while he was exercising, he said he took Hawthorn berry and it stopped his AF. It is amazing, dr. Brownstein has done everything right, his diets etc. yet he got AF. Our DNA is powerful stuff, maybe doctor B will get a handle on AF that will benefit us. Liz.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pam: I have taken Benadryl without any problems---but there are some cold meds that say on the package that they can be used by people that have some heart palps or heart problems so that should be better. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
