Pamela: This should be on the AF page because it has a direct message towards AF and you will get more responses. Shannon moved your other post because it didn't deal directly with AF, i can't move your message but you could reprint your message to the AF page. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Joe: So you say you have been drinking Hawthorn berry tea for a couple of years and you think it has helped you, thats good. I started on the supplement my doc gave me, it can't hurt. My doctor said it stopped his Af, exercising brought his episode on, I told him about this site and that a lot of people that do heavy exercises are prone to AF. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all: I went to my Holistic doctor today, I have been seeing him for probably about 12 years. We never discussed AF before as I always went to my EP for that. I had an episode of AF last night and I mentioned it to him, he said he had AF yesterday after doing his exercises, I was stunned, he mentioned that his father had AF when he was younger. He told me that he took some Hawthorn berryby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: You said: Liz - In Shannon's case, the nattokinase most likely spared him from a worse stroke situation than it was. The Lariat procedure didn't seal off the LAA completely and the clot did develop and release into the blood stream. Without nattokinase, he may have developed a very large clot that could have caused even more significant damage or worse. Thankfully, Shannoby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon said that he was taking Natto when he had his stroke, i couldn't find the article in which he said that but he did say it. The site that has this article about Natto is hosted by William Davis, the doctor who wrote Wheat Belly which Jackie has spoken glowingly about in past articles, I guess he doesn't like Natto. If the LAA is closed off, that doesn't mean that blood clots can't form in other parts of the body--what happens to the blood that isn't able to form clots in the LAA? I read that people who have had the Watchman installed are to remain on aspirin the rest of their lives. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: Thank you for your reply---My episodes depend, the last AF episode I had was after an interval of 2 and 1/2 months, I went all of August, Sept. and part of Oct. then i got a short episode and 2 days later another one that lasted about 12 hours (this was unusual as I don't get episodes that close together) I have been AF free for about 2 and 1/2 weeks. So generally, I get episodeby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe: George N. said that he has read there is a 48 hr. window, I have read that as well. If your AF lasts longer than 48 hrs. you need to go to ER. I think your Doctor is trying to scare you. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: Thanks, i don't think there is much else that i can do, it does get a little scary at times, but life has no guarantees. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: All well and good but what if a person can't take those blood thinners? A number of years ago I took Coumadin, after a month or so I started getting bloodshot eyes, blood pooling in my thumbs, I was told to stop the drug. A few weeks after the stoppage of Coumadin I got a bloody nose (never had one before) and coughed up some blood clots. I went to ER but had to sit for a numby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
What do you attribute your fathers longevity to, his genes, his diet, supplements, exercise? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: You said: Liz - "on any given topic, there are websites that attempt to ‘debunk’ the findings practitioners of what I like to call, “enlightened, new medical practices” that go beyond the limitations of studies that so many like to hide behind. The tight junctions, which control what materials the intestine absorbs, don’t work properly, allowing larger substances (but still very small) to cross over into the bloodstream. George: Thank you for your reply. I noticed that Dr. G. says you can eat 2 grains, Sorghum and Millet, you should tell your Doc. that a number of years ago I started to eat a bread that was made with Millet. My thyroid hormone dropped, I became hypo, when I stopped the bread it went back to normal, I avoid anything with Millet in it. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: How often do you and your wife have lab work done? TNF-alpha, and gluten testing, those are tests that most doctors don't do, does your ins. pay for those? My holistic doctor does my blood work, never had those tests and really why should I have them? C-Reactive protein shows inflamation levels, why would one need TNF-alpha test? I apparently don't have symptoms that wouby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe: Tomatoes are high in lectins, I raise tomatoes, eat a lot of them fresh and make and can sauce. My tomatoes came on in August, September and are still producing, during the months of August and September and the first week in Oct. I did not have any episodes of AF, I did get an episode the second week of Oct. but I worked very hard during those two months without an episode which was gooby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I understand that Vit K2 MK7 is important, I took it for quite a while but those Aura Migraines are no fun. I hope the K2 from chickpeas will be just as good as the supplement from Natto. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: So if those "housecleaning programs" aren't activated what happens? I can't go that long without eating---a few hours before going to bed I do have a protein snack, after sleeping and having breakfast I probably don't have anything to eat for about 10 hours, thats all I can handle. You had dinner with Dr. bredesen and his wife, George you are famous. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: Hey thanks for your find---I just ordered the K2 from fermented chickpeas, I-Herb has it. I like chickpeas, I will tell Dr. Brownstein about this, I will be seeing him in about 3 weeks. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: I have read a lot of your postings and know that you do a lot of fasting---there was a doctor on dr. Oz that claims he can cure/greatly help people with Alzheimers. He said to fast 12 hrs. everyday---6:00 pm. to 6:00 am., his diet was lots of vegetables, not too much meat---chicken, fish and some beef. My question is why is fasting so good for you? I have been reading that some people have had some side effects from MK7 M2. Some have said they had symptoms of restlessness, inability to sleep and a thumping heart beat. MK7 has natto in it, MK7 has a residence 1/2 life in the body of 3.5 days. I blamed my getting aura Migraines to many other things yet i usually took the MK7 which I now believe was my culprit, I guess time will tell. Notby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe: , Yes, my first AF event was due to my taking too much of my thyroid drug (synthroid), you can get AF episodes if your TSH, T4 and T3 are either too much or too little of the thyroid hormone, played a big part in my AF episodes and still does. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dean: You said that Natto is very hormonal, is the supplement Mk7 K2 also? That would explain why I cannot take any nattokinase supplement, it will give me aura migraines. I was using a natural hormone cream given to me by my Holistic doctor for a few years without too much problems with the aura Migraines but then I started getting them more often, I also was taking the supplement MK7 K2 atby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: Your first event which you say was caused by partying with wine and pizza after a warm day on the golf course, you got AF but how many of the people at that event got AF? The AF problem is definitely in our genes, we don't know what event in our lives can trigger the onset of AF. My mother had AF, I have two brothers, neither one got AF the gene skipped them but got me. I thinby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

My blood work shows that my Potassium levels are around 4.6 which is at the upper level of the lab scale. So for me, taking supplements is a no,no. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Fibrillator: I agree, everyone is different, and if I had Af often and had your kind of symptoms I would opt for an ablation as well. I hope you will now have a quiet heart. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
