Joy: Exactly, when you have to get up early it is hard to get 8 hrs. of sleep--most Americans don't usually get 8 hrs. It seems to be habit forming also to get less sleep, I no longer have to get up to go to work but I still very seldom can get 8 hours of sleep every night. I have a lot to do now as well, i have a large garden, lawn and take care of my house so I still am working. Gby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Nick: I would say if Flaxseed oil is benefiting you then use it. laxseed is the seed from the plant Linum usitatissimum. Oil from the seed is used to make medicine. People try flaxseed oil for many different conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis and high cholesterol. It is also tried for treating osteoarthritis, anxiety, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), vaginal infections, dryby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Oh, Atenolol is one of the worst drugs you can take, Han Larsen the founder of this site has said Atenolol is a bad drug. When I first got AF the MD I went to prescribed Atenolol, I took only a small amount but it made me very tried, I was in the airport one time and had to walk quite a ways and could not do it because the drug made me so weak, I also believe it gave me a first degree heart blocby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gordon: That was a good article you posted on Perlmutter, there are so many "so-called" experts that have come out today and claim they can heal everything with their diets and supplements. Of course we do need to eat good food which we cook ourselves, stay away from sugar, bad habits etc. But to say, all grains are bad, some include beans as well is ridiculous, taking a boatload oby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
My daughter, she lives in Florida, went to her dentist last week and they took a lot of x-rays, she said 18 of them. They took Bite Wing and Periapical xrays, she has had only one small filling in her life, she is now 60. They have now found a very small decay in between two teeth. I have never had that many xrays at one time, is that what they are doing now? I know you were a Dental Hygienisby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Jackie; I take aspirin most days, I cannot take coumadin and that would include the other blood thinners according to my doc. Now, do you think that Eliquis is so much better than aspirin as to what it can do to your body? If you are going to show the risks of aspirin than also show the risks of Eliquis, coumadin etc. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I believe that the Mediterranean diet is a very healthy diet, the Mediterranean diet contains whole grains, including gluten, and lots of fruit. These are exactly the things Dr. Perlmutter wants us to skip to protect our brains. But still, he believes it’s very similar to his dietary protocol. Anyway, why should someone switch from a Mediterranean style diet which is supported by a lot of scientiby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Jackie: It is fine to say "make it a priority to get 7 to 8 hours of sleep", however pretty hard to do. You can cite all of these natural things to take, most don't help, some have made me sick. So, we do the best we can. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
i sleep anywhere from 51/2 hours to 71/2, I am 83 and in good health except for AF, I think it depends on the person, Edison didn't sleep much, Tesla didn't and Trump only sleeps about 4 hours. I have given up on a lot of these so-called sage advisers, they all die don't they, do what makes you feel good. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Sir: It is not normal to have a TSH at zero, I understand that you say your t3 is normal (what are the numbers?). A few months ago I had an increase in my thyroid meds, my TSH went to 1.0 and my T3 was normal but I started getting AF around twice a week which was an increase from once every couple of months. I went back to my thyroid meds before the increase after a few weeks my AF episodesby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Without animal protein, soy appears to take its place---I don't know if you realize it but soy is very bad for people who have thyroid problems. I had Graves disease and had my thyroid ablated many years ago, I do take Synthroid, I wouldn't touch Soy with a ten foot pole. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
George: Do you think that your fasting and eating only once a day along with your mag. intake has all helped in your control of AF? I know that eating too much in the late evening has led to some AF episodes for me. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: My father had Graves disease, my mother AF and occassional Aura Migraines, I got all 3, my brother missed it all but he did pass away a few years ago of prostrate cancer. George: You are probably right, geneticts have a lot to do with our health----my mother did not eat the best diet, she ate potatoes everyday, she ate ice cream, and she loved donuts, she didn't eat a lot of them but she didn't deprive herself. She had AF the last 10 years of her life which weaken her, but she did live to 93 and was able to take care of herself throughout most of thaby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is it possible that a lot of people say they feel so good on Dr. Gundry's diet because they didn't eat too well to begin with? I eat a lot of tomatoes, I raise them, I make a lot of sauce and juice from tomatoes--I don't have indigestion problems, no skin problems. I also eat beans sometimes, no problems, I eat dark brown bread, a few slices/day, I eat olive oil most days.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Was your pauses caught on a heart monitor when you were converting and almost passing out--I had that happen to me a few times and it was caught in my doctors office. My heart rate went way down to almost a flat line, I had to have a pacemaker implanted it is set at 50 so if my heart rate goes down further the pacer kicks in. It only happens when I covert from AF to NSR, i am glad i have it asby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I went back to my normal prescription which I have been taking for a long time, 125 mcg., Dr. B. told me to take 137 mcgs. and that is when I started getting more AF. So, I am not sure if that increase in thyroid meds is why I am getting more AF, my TSH went to 1.1 on the 135 mcgs after about 3 weeks. Jackie: How often did you take the dose of 225 mg. of Propafenone a day? I do take one tablet at night (150mg.), however the last couple of days I had an episode of AF and took more of Propafenone to stop the AF, it did make me feel tried, I am in NSR today but I still feel tried. I have always gotten health ins. where I am able to choose my doctor, it would be awful if I had to go to someone who the Gov. wants me to see. When I get my car repaired, I choose who does the work, same with anything that I need repaired. The most important thing we have is our bodies why should I leave that up to some gov. official? I buy bread that is organically grown it is tasty and hopefully more healthful. I sometimes buy flour made from almond meal, white rice flour, hazelnut flour, coconut flour and make my own bread. The bread doesn't rise like breads made with gluten of course. Actually most fruits and vegetables aren't like what our grandmothers ate. Corn is very different, it is now xtra sweet, corby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Alice Why would you take 600 mg. of Propafenone? I have taken 150 mg. every night for about 8 yrs or so, If I get Af I will take another tab, it shortens my episode but doesn't just stop it. Did your doctor tell you to take that much Propafenone? I would be afraid to take that much at one time. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
It is said that tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants all have Lectins and we are to avoid them. I am posting this because you are talking about lectins in rice. Shannon: I see nothing in your article that says 2.1 TSH is considered to be hypothyroid, my TSh has tested many times in the past around 2.1 + or -, Dr. Brownstein found nothing wrong with those numbers. Jackie: what was the dosage of the Rhythmol that you took? I take one 150mg. at night before bed, I have for a number of years, I havn't noticed weakness. I really don't like taking those kinds of meds everyday but it is a small amount. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
