Smackman: I used to get palps a few years back, before I started taking magnesium, once I started taking it my palps went away for the most part. As to what I eat, I eat well, for breakfast I eat eggs a little bacon, coffee and a piece of toast or sometimes oatmeal, I don't eat until later in the day, which is my big meal, today I had a big bowl of Bean soup (I made it from scratch), a lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Years ago when I was put on Coumadin I experienced bloodshot eyes and blood pooling in my thumb after just opening a door. I was told to quit the drug and after quitting, about 2 weeks later I had a nosebleed (I never have them) and I coughed up blood which was clotted, I went to the ER sat there for about 2 hours and during that time I had no issue with bleeding so I went home. I didn't hby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wolfpack: Thank you for your reply, then why do some people not require a blood thinner, everyone that has an ablation doesn't require a blood thinner. I do get episodes of Af, they are not too long, but I cannot take a blood thinner, I have tried but I got bloodshot eyes, blood pooling in my fingers, I had to get off of the blood thinner (counadin), so having an ablation and requiring aby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nick: I raise all my veggies, berries and also lots of fruit. I do buy bread, its says it is made from organic wheat, I also buy brown rice products. I do get episodes of AF perhaps once a month or longer, it lasts anywhere from 3 hrs. to 12 hrs. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Jackie: You have had three procedures why do you have to remain on a blood thinner? If one gets AF, that is why one is to be on blood thinners is what I have always understood. What happens when one has an ablation and no longer gets AF yet has to take a blood thinner. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Smackman: Sorry to hear that you may have to stay on a blood thinner always. You went through a lot so that you wouldn't have to be on blood thinners. I have been on this board for a number of years and have read about people getting ablations some have one and are great and no longer post, there are others that are not so lucky and have more than one, sometimes 3 and still have problemby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I buy bread that says it is made with Organic wheat, so i would hope they don't use glyphosate on their wheat. I don't eat a lot of bread, but i do eat a few slices for breakfast, I don't have a problem with wheat. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
The last time that i was at my EP, he wanted me to take Aminodorne (spelling), I can't take blood thinners, I said I take an aspirin he said that doesn't do any good. That shocked me as that is what he has told me to take, so I guess he must be informed as to what you just said Jackie. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

For all of those on the Paleo diet, watch your iodine levels: According to a recent study conducted in Sweden, women who ate according to a modified Paleo diet over a two year period experienced mild to moderate iodine deficiency, compared to other subjects who were following a "Nordic Nutrition" guidelines-based diet, which recommends: Sufficient intake of monounsaturated fatby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Mike: I have a first degree heart block it was caused by my doctor prescribing Atenolol (beta blocker) when i first got AF. I did have to get a pacemaker because when i got an episode of AF when going back into NSR I would almost black out, this was caught in the Doctor's office, it showed that my heart rate fell to almost a flat line for a few seconds. That is when i got a Pacemaker iby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
There is a battery recall on pacemakers and ICU devices, this is from St. Judes, so anyone that has a device implanted from St. Judes should check to see if their device is OK. I have a pacemaker from St. Judes and i checked, it is not on the recall, thank goodness. Elizabethby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I only have Parts A and B of my medical health insurance--i have my drug plan with First Health, but i only have two drugs that i buy which is Synthroid and Propafenone. Propafenone is cheap, Synthroid is costly and my plan pays hardly anything to it as i have to reach a certain amount for my plan to kick in, so i am paying a monthly premium for nothing, but you never know so i keep the plan.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I am not so much in awe of supplements as you are--I would like my food to be my medicine/supplements. Now if one is very deficient in a vitamin/nutrient than that is different than just going and taking a boatload of supplements on someones say so. i know that I am on the low side of Magnesium, so I do take that, i don't take Potassium as my levels are very good. I read Dr. Graveline's story, it is tragic. However, I am puzzled ALS is Lou Gehrig disease, which has been around for a long time, even before satin drugs, certain ethnic groups are more prone to the disease. I am not saying that satin drugs did not increase the doctors chances of getting the disease, however, many people are on satin drugs and do not get ALS. I have read that D. George: Thanks for your input--I do also think that the pacer recordings aren't the best to discriminate between the various rhythms, that is why I can't get any definite answers. My heart rate isn't fast, it is usually around the upper 80's or low 90's when in AF, but it appears to be a more regular beat than the way it used to be (like a mouse running around in my chest). I don't think they put in new leads, wouldn't that be quite a operation on my heart? When they put in the new pacemaker, I am sure they just connected the leads to the pacer.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have a pacemaker which was put in about 15 years ago due to my heart rate falling to almost a flat line when I converted from AF to NSR. I only used it a very small percentage of the time, a new pacer was inserted about 3 years ago. My AF is different since the new pacer, I used to go into NSR from AF and I knew immediately. Now my AF is different, when I am at rest my heart feels almost likby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

I was ignorant about the benadryl, just never though that would cause my BP to be on high side. There should be more warnings about it.
