Anti-Fib: My Holistic doctor, Dr. David Brownstein, works with BHRT, he will prescribe Hydrocortisone, does the iodine test, etc. However, I don't know where you are located, Dr. Brownstein has an office in West Bloomfield Michigan. Dr. Jonathan Wright, Tacoma clinic, Washington does the same as Dr Brownstein. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
That's right about salt, we need salt, Celtic Sea Salt, especially if we are drinking a lot of water/or perspiring a lot. Glad everything turned out ok for you. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Sam: I have mild Osteopenia, that is a precursor to Osteoporosis, so not the same as your sister, I agree about the strontium, Dr. Brownstein had that in his book on Osteoporosis as a supplement to take, I had forgotten about that supplement, thanks for the reminder. Jackie: I quit taking (NSAIDs) I believe in Dec. of last year, because at that time I started taking a very low dose of Prednisolone, I quit the Prednisolone towards the end of Feb. of this year because my BP was increasing. So, I do not take anything except for some aspirin, which my EP wants me to take as I cannot take Coumadin or any of those similar products. I also didn't post aby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti afib: I know the drill about my thyroid issues, I know which tests need to be done, I have read a lot and my Holistic Doc. is well versed as well, he did write a book on the thyroid. I just let you know a little of my history of how I came to get an episode of AF. No, I do not know when an episode is about to start, I am vagal, so an episode will wake me up or it could start before Iby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti Fib: Ok, the first time I got AF was because of too much thyroid hormone. I had Graves Disease and after trying meds I got my thyroid nuked, that was in 1994, before my computer to seek out other means. I was feeling a little tried and increased my thyroid meds, well I got hyper and my heart went into overdrive causing an episode of AF. In those early years I got an episode of AF perhaby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Very few people would or could eat Natto every day or even every other day. I do not understand why most people who have tried the protocol via the strategy do not get the results which some have said they achieved. Unless we know if the stories that are in Session 61 still hold, we are in limbo, it is disingenuous for the reader to believe that following similar protocols will net the sameby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dear Peggy: I don't disapprove of Dr. Weil's protocol, I don't follow it. A long time ago I recall reading a book by Dr. Weil called Spontaneous healing. In the book Dr Weil recommended taking 25,000 IU of Beta Carotene a day, I did that and got very sick, he also recommended eating Soy, well I had a thyroid problem and it made me hypo. I became a little leery of Dr. Weil, heby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Andrew Weil needs to lose about 50 lbs, I saw him on Dr. Oz's show and couldn't believe how out of shape he is, "do as I say not as I do". Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Moerk The last week in April of this year I had an abnormal ECG, that led my EP to schedule a Nuclear Stress test, I had that done the 3rd week in May, everything is great no problems with my heart. So what I am saying is that ECG can often show abnormality, not the best test to rely on. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Morek: There is probably no one as dedicated to eating the right diet, supplements and making sure the electrolytes were optimal than Jackie, that wasn't enough, as you probably know she has had 3 ablations, uses the exacta test, that is no cure. Peggy will tell you that she had very few episodes of AF, her AF was not like many that come here with AF every week, few times a month. I dby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Tibbar: Yes, that also happens to me, my BP is lower for a while after an AF episode, it doesn't last as long as what you say. If I go back into SR, say in the early afternoon, then that day my BP is low, the next day it is back to normal. I have noted the lower BP after AF for many years, I have had many tests over those years and my heart is fine. The lower BP tends to make me a litby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mork: Good for you----Dr. Brownstein went to U of M and is a Holistic Physician, people come from all over for his services, I would say he is pretty much in accord with most things said here except he has told me that he did use the exacta test and found it not reliable. Science changes, it does not remain the same in all things. I believe I should be able to post certain things as well asby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
How about "infusing me with your great knowledge as to what kind of Doctor or Scientist you are. By the way Wikipedia is not know for their accuracy. I will stick with my Holistic doctor, at least I know he is a doctor, Shannon knows who he is and has respect for him. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
The bottom line is if your RBC indicates that one is low in Mag., why do you need to get the exacta test, I suppose if your magnesium is in the normal range, in the RBC test then do you want to verify it with the exacta test, why do you think that all of this testing is necessary, most of us take as much magnesium as is possible, so if you can't take anymore mag. what is the point? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
That doesn't make sense. The RBC test is to measure intracellular magnesium. The easiest cell to get at is the red cell, hence this test. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti-fib I had asked my Holistic doctor, Dr. Brownstein, about the Exatest a few years ago and he told me that he found the test to be un-reliable, he does the RBC test for magnesim. So, that is the test that I get, I don't fool around with these kits, sounds to me a little shaky. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti Fib Well we agree----it appears that for women, they get more than one ablation, at this point in my life I wouldn't want to look forward to two or three ablations. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Moerk: You are new to this forum and do not know the history, Hans formed this site, he has written books about AF, he is one smart, very knowledgeable person, he can teach you not the other way around. I have said that I have taken magnesium for years, IT DID NOT STOP MY AF, I am not against taking mag., it is vital for other functions. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti fib Hans had surveys that were intended for this site, they were instructive for us which was appreciated. That is a ridiculous statement about questioning my priority that I listen to my Holistic doctor over some posters, why should I go to him if I don't value his counsel. He does not treat my AF, I have an EP, he is very good and does not push a lot of drugs, I am vagal and heby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
ghg: Dr. Don Colbert of Orlando, Florida has a pitcher which has a filter In it that will alkaline your water to around 9.0, looks pretty neat. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: If you read my post, I said that I wasn't "positive as to the length of time" I thought it was probably about a month. Whatever time it was, WW did not help most. You said it would take months or years to for magnesium to be optimized, I am sure Hans would have known that, yet he did conduct the survey, weren't you here at the time, if you were you should have toldby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I am sure you were here during the time that Hans had the survey, I am not postive as to the length of time we were to take the WW, if as you say about the length of time for magnesium to help, I am sure Hans knew that. I believe the results of that survey was In one of Hans' monthly reports. Doesn't take long for magnesium to send me to the bathroom. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
It is harmful to drink too much water, 8 cups/day is the amount most people should drink: When it’s out of whack, and there is too much water and the sodium drops, there can be issues with the heart, there can be issues with the muscles, there can be issues with the central nervous system,” said Dr. Weiss. Anti fib You say you would listen to "advice here before I would listen to a Holistic Doctor", I hope you are kidding. I have been on this site for maybe around 10 years, I have read many posts about doing this or that. At one time Hans had a survey which had posters taking Waller Water for I believe it was for a month, then post your results, most did not benefit by eliminatiby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: What are your lab values for magnesium and potassium? Most people cannot take the amount of magnesium that you intake, I can only take a very small amount----I do eat a lot of veggies and fruit, maybe you don't, you have to admit that you are not the average person, re: the amount of Mag. and potassium that you take. You remember P.C. I am sure-- he tried everything as did Hanby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am not a car, just a living, breathing human. Sadly supplements, diet etc. don't always work many have tried to no avail and are now happy with the results of their ablations. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anti-Fib I was taking Magnesium Gly. that seemed to give me more problems, a lot of mag. supplements have Mag. oxide in them. Funny, but my Holistic doctor believes in Mag. Oxide, he says his patients have more luck with the oxide. So who is correct, some of the people on this forum or my Holistic Doctor. George takes different kinds of Magnesium and appears to have no problems. I have lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
When I first got AF my doctor prescribed Atenalol 25mg/day, I felt very tried, I take thyroid meds and I became hypo, I also got a heart block and had to get a pacemaker, I was in my doctors office and looked at my charts and noted that the doctor had written that I might have gotten the heart block because of the beta blocker. I would not want to be on beta blockers all the time, once in a greaby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: There are a lot of things that are posted on the net, one cannot believe everything they read, also, as I pointed out Hans tried everything as did P.C. you and Shannon, I have faith that these 4 did all that could be done and yet could not reverse AF. We don't know if all of those people that you cite are still AF free without an ablation, I have been on here for a lot of yearsby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
