Jackie: I am sorry but I have doubts that 50 people have reversed their AF and no longer have it. Hans, Shannon, Jackie, P.C. these four tried everything, I read of the many things that P.C. went through, nothing worked and they are now free due to an ablation. The only ones that I know of who have reversed their AF are George and Erling, I have not gotten any worse and in fact my episodes aby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have taken magnesium for a number of years, however, the last few months I am having problems taking the magnesium. If I take it everyday, I will have a lot of cramps and going to the bathroom a lot, so I take a little every few days. It is pretty obivious that magnesium does not cure AF as many on here have tried Mag. and in the end opted for an ablation. I believe that mag. did help in lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Larry: Thank you for your message, the last couple of days I tried taking a 1/4 t. of the mix, it is Spirulina along with other ingredients, I have felt fine, so will continue taking it. You are correct Spirulina is touted as being a superfood. Probably the drink that I got from the supermarket wasn't a good product which I reacted to. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Has anybody had any experience with taking Spirulina? I have this probiotic from Dr. Brownstein and the first ingredient is Spirulina, I remember buying a drink with Spirulina years ago and that night I had a racing heart, I don't know exactly all that was in the drink but now I am a little leery about Spirulina. What I have read on line about Spirulina is glowing, but a little hesitant abby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I got my MSM from Dr. Brownstein it is in capsule form, I think he had me start with too high a dose, I was told to take 2 with meals twice a day. The only ingredient in the supplement is MSM, I could try taking 1 cap a day and build up, I have read good things about it. I was concerned about the sulfa because I too got a rash from taking a sulfa drug, it was all over my body, so if it doesnby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Has anybody taken MSM, did it help you and were there any side effects from taking the supplement? I took it wed night and yesterday, 2, 2 times a day, I did a lot of work yesterday, I felt very tried and a little dizzy, I don't know if the MSM was responsible or I just did too much. I cannot take sulfa drugs because I once got a rash from them. I guess I wasn't thinking because MSMby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
My EP said they have tried using Magnesium for AF, didn't work, I also asked him if I could have fibrosis, he said no. I have had an EKG, an Aultra sound within the last week and a half, all so far is good. We all need mag., but I think some are going overboard, I have used mag. for years it seems like I am having some problems with it now, one 300 mg tab. gives me a lot of cramps, I am nby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Judianne: My potassium level is usually around 4.5, I NEVER take any potassium supplements, some years ago I did take some potassium supplements and got short runs of AF, that stopped when I quit the pot. supplements. I also cannot take too much mag., if I take more than 300 mg. I get a lot of cramps. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
CR 75 lots to read, a lot of back and forth between Jackie, Erling and EB. There is no evidence of clinical trials proving actual reversing Cardiac Fibrosis (if possible) will eliminate lone AF. Also, many people with fibrotic hearts don't go arrihythmic, also, ablations don't remove fibrosis. If one has Fibrosis, how Is it detected Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Genetics, genetics, that is what it is all about, I have a neighbor who drinks everyday and is a smoker, she is 53 no AF. All of the people I know do not have AF, yet they break all the rules which we think is causing our AF. All of this Potassium to salt ratio, supplements just isn't doing it, in fact I don't know if anyone has seen the article about supplements that they can actuby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: I have always maintained AF has a genetic code, for many of us, my mother had AF, my Aunt as well, I don't know most of my ancestors on my fathers side, so there may be more. I hope that a cadaver is dead, sorry George couldn't resist, I do have a strange sense of humor. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie wrote about a new book on Satins that Dr. Brownstein wrote. I found another tidbit about Satins, interesting If you graph out Alzheimer's in the late eighties, Alzheimer's went through the roof and became the number six killer in this country. In the late 1980s that's when statin drugs became available. I didn't read the good doctors book as yet, Jackie whatby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Doreen: This board has changed, if having some AF episodes get an ablation we are told, it didn't used to be that way, people did try many things. Perhaps ablations have become safer, especially with Dr. Natalie, but everyone can't have the good doctor do their ablation. I remember that one of the top docs who did ablations at U of M Michigan did an ablation on a fellow doctor,by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
A lot of what Jackie has posted is as a rule good, but everything isn't all benign and all people aren't the same, I am not posting just for sake of argument, I am concerned about too much magnesium, food is ok but supplements can be problematic. If no one has a problem with magnesium, that is good, perhaps because of my getting older my system is becoming more picky. LIVESTRONG.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Doreeen: I too have been taking Propafenone for about 10 years, I take it at night before bedtime as I am Vagal and it is still working. I do get some break through of AF every 2 months or so, they usually occur at Night and I generally sleep them off, so it isn't too bad. I read where some of the women have at least 2 ablations and had problems in between, Jackie has had 3, that soundsby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: Oh my gosh, that fits me---I have been taking one 1 tab. of Mag., 300 mg., I take it a few hours before going to bed, I wake up a few hours later and have to go to the bathroom, my heart is pounding, feel nervous and it is hard to relax and go back to sleep. I believe that the mag. is reving me up, I have been scouring the internet about mag. Also, I was at Dr. Brownsteins office abby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
"300 mg of potassium is negligible" depends on the person, what does their Potassium level check at? My Potassium level is usually around 4.5 which is good without any Pot. supplements. A few years ago I took some pot. supplements, as most people spoke so glowingly about it, well, it isn't for me, when I took some pot. supplements it caused me to have some small episodes of AF,by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: Hopefully this procedure will give you the quiet heart we all are striving for, wishing you all the best and it is good to see you back and writing, we have missed you. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: It is a lot of potassium, but, apparently not for you, and posters should understand that and not take the same amount. For instance, I take no potassium supplements and I had a blood test about 3 weeks ago and my level was 4.5, it wasn't fasting however, although, I usually always test around that level. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George; That is interesting that Vagal AF rarely develops into permanent AF, might be something to it, I am Vagal, first AF in 1999, still get AF once in a while but not permanent. You George, are vagal as well and are not in permanent AF. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: Are you talking about Dr. Jonathan Wright of Tacoma Washington clinic? You confused me because you said you wanted to get " her" permission to print the article, did Dr. Wright have AF? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Montos: I have been taking 150 mg. of Propafenone at bedtime for probably the last 8 or 9 years and I have never had any problems with it. Of course, you are taking double of what I am taking but I am a small woman, so that enters into it. I am not saying the drug isn't causing your problem, but I would be more inclined to think it might be something else, did you google burning feet?by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Shannon, Tsco said he had a Blood Magnesium test, you are assuming he had a serum test, I don't know which he had, a serum or a Red blood cell test. Dr Brownstein uses a Red blood cell test which he believes is accurate, I had asked him about the exacta test for magnesium and he told me he found it not to be accurate. Jackie: Right, I realize that about the blood and the urine---my first paragraph was about the PH of my urine which came in at 5.5 I believe you have said that that the PH of urine should be around 7.0, my isn't, it is 5.5 and Dr. Brownstein isn't concerned with it, he did tell me I need to drink more water, my Bun is a little high. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I have the results of my blood work back, I had my urine PH run and it was 5.5 , adult range is 4.5-8.0, Dr. Brownstein is not concerned with it. I have read that urine needs to be slightly acidic, alkaline urine almost always means an infection (this is from a med. nurse). Murray: So sorry about your situation, that is terrible. A lot of us in the states were extremely angry that our Gov. rushed through a healthcare system that 65% of the people do not want.
