I am taking a small amount of Predisone/cortisol (4mg/day), it is greatly helping with my shoulders, knee and groin area. I am supposed to take a baby aspirin every day, I havn't been taking the aspirin but I am concerned about it, is there any reason that there would be a problem with the Predisone/aspirin, of course I wouldn't take them together, but some hours apart. Jackie: You got anything on taurine that isn't from China, Egypt or Ireland. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have read that the body normally makes all it needs, but under certain conditions such as disease, injury or physical exertion and high periods of stress a supply may not meet demand. Taurine should be given with caution to patients with blood sugar problems. High does are not as effective as low doses, repeated infrequently, since taurine accumulates rapidly and is only slowly metabolized.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
David: I have a brother and a sister in law both had a mini stroke-one 3 years ago and the other 2 years ago-neither have AF. It is better to be safe however, nothing is fool proof. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: I saw Dr. Brownstein today, he doesn't think I have Rotator cuff injury, he did something to my shoulder while telling me to move my arm back, he believes I had a little bone out of place in my shoulders, he also gave a shot into each shoulder, it is oxygen. I am able to move my arms a lot better without pain so I will see what happens in the next few days. I have had injurieby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Josiah: My brother ate a diet very low in animal protein, he ate a lot of raw vegetables, apples, berries which he raised himself, I would say that he ate a alkaline diet, yet he got cancer and died from it. There are many gurus out there that tell us, this diet is what we should have or that diet, this supplement or that supplement. I believe we should just eat a well balanced diet, proteby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
And of course we know that Paleo man, millions of yeas ago, ate 10,000 mg. of Potassium/day, their lifestyle very different than ours, also whatever amount of potassium they got was not from supplements. Lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gary: Better run that by your doctor, have you had your potassium levels checked, if they are ok then you don't need a potassium supplement. Too much potassium can cause AF also it can stop the heart. I believe most people can get enough Potassium from their food. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom: Too much potassium can put you in AF, it also can stop the heart, I am amazed at the amount of potassium some say they take. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lisa: My BP is always higher at the doctors office, it also depends on how they take your BP, your arm should not be hanging down it should be at hearts level. Before taking your BP on your home monitor you should sit quietly for about 5 min. make sure your arm is elevated to your heart level. My EP has me sit for a while, if my BP is high, then they take it again and it usually is down. Myby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Shannon: It is funny you should mention DHEA, the last time I saw Dr. Brownstein he said my DHEA was very low and to take it, I am afraid I didn't. I am on a natural hormone cream which does contain Estradiol and testosterone, although, I had told Dr. B. that I thought it was giving me aura migraines, so he did lower the dose of testosterone, I still get the auras once in a while, so donby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Judianne: I am not happy to take any Advil etc., but I have been taking Predisone/cortisol for about 3 weeks, it is a low mg. but I stopped taking it as it will thin the bones, so what do you do, I figure the NAISDs are better than the steroids, I am a little better so hopefully I won't need to take them for long. Jackie: Oh, thanks for the clarification, I was quite concerned. I saw another doctor yesterday and he wants a CT of the pelvis, as the stress fracture in the Sacrum doesn't show up very clearly on the Xray that I had, he seemed to think that my problem with pain in my thighs, lower back and groin area is due to that fracture, my hips appear to be ok, and actually I am getting slowly betby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

George: Interesting, maybe all the anti-inflammatory supplements and the cup of ginger have helped, I thought maybe the anti-inflammatory drugs were doing something with my not getting AF, it was a rough 2 and a 1/2 months, weather very cold, my condition, and a business problem I had, and I didn't go into AF all that time. First, I have read and re-read that inflammation causes AF, I injured myself around the 1st of Nov. 2014, I was in a lot of pain, I had a CRP test performed, it showed a lot of inflammation, the numbers were 14.4, that is high, it should be around 0.8. I have been taking a lot of supplements that are supposed to help with getting inflammation down, I don't know what it is now I will get itby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Ggheld: Is that the same stuff that this guy on T.V advertises, he calls it Blue Emu, there are a lot of different Emu oils and creams on the market, is the one that your wife get from a compounding pharmacy stronger than what one can buy in the walmart etc.? I have a well, no fluoride, unless it is natural fluoride. About how long do you think a bone facture will heal, it can't be a very big fracture as it is on the sacrum, which is a small tail bone. l have been taking anti-inflammatory pills the last month, I am concerned about these pills causing heart problems, but what can I do? I have rotator cuff injuries in both shoulders.
