My EP said that they have tried putting people on mag. and AF still rears its head. Mag. does help but it isn't a cure all, if it was, then why are so many on this board getting ablations after trying mag., K etc.? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Glad you posted this, I agree with it. With GMO plants less sprays need to be used, soil doesn't have to be greatly enriched, yields are heavier, all of this is a boon to poor countries. A lot of these granolas want to take us back to the stone age, same with "Global Warming", this is another scam, Al Gore has been preaching that the ice caps are melting, they are not, theby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
George: Are you saying that mag. Aspartate and mag. oxide are right up there in their absorption rate with mag. gluconate? I have read where it has been said on this board that Aspartate and mag. oxide are not very readily absorbed, Dr. Brownstein said he has more luck with mag. oxide, so maybe we can't believe everything we read. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ron: I took iodoral for about 4 /2 years without any problems then I started getting hives, couldn't figure it out, stopped everything that I was taking and the hives didn't stop until I quit the Iodoral. I took 12 mcg./day during all those years. Dr. Brownstein recommends Iodoral for low thyroid problems also he believes it will help with AF. I spoke to a lady that works at hiby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon; I saw Dr Brownstein yesterday, I gave him the printed copy of the protocol that you said Dr. Wright has for clots. Brownstein took it and didn't have the time to read it at my appt., but he will be calling me when my bloodwork comes in, he did say that Natto was good to take, he asked how long am I In AF when I get an episode, I told him around 14 hours, he said that a clot doesby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ralph: Celtic Sea Salt contains 33% sodium, 50.9% chloride, 1.8% minerals and trace elements and 1.4% moisture. Chloride 50.9% Zinc .00275 % Sodium 33.0% Copper .00195% Sulfur 0.820% Erbium .00195% Magnesium 0.441% Tin .0by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ralph: All salt is not equal, you can believe what you want to, no problem. You do say that you can get your minerals from supplements, that could be snake oil, a lot of people on this site have taken and believe in lots of supplements to stop their AF episodes, in the end most opt for an ablation, even those writing about certain supplements that we should take, yet they too have ablations.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dee: Do you use more celtic sea salt throughout the day, or is that all you use--1/8 teaspoon, that isn't very much. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
You need the right kind of salt, celtic sea salt not the table salt you find in the grocery stores. Dr. Brownstein has written a book "Salt your way to Health", He says that unrefined sea salt (celtic) contains over 80 minerals and elements -- all the natural elements necessary for life. Refined salt contains only two major items: sodium and chloride. Dr. Brownstein says "Hoby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: Thank you, I will print your reply out for reference, I do take some of the vitamins you have recommended. I am seeing Dr. Brownstein next week and will go over some of what you have written, Dr. Brownstein and Dr. Wright are friends, I believe they were at the same college together. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: First of all I am very glad that you are on the mend. As to my Graves, from what I have read, it is said that a trigger could cause Graves, I developed Graves about a year after my son died, also my father and aunt had Graves. I have doubts that my Graves disease was caused by perhaps having the virus for EB, in fact, only one doctor had noted this, I still have doubts. I am goingby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Shannon; I cannot take Coumadin, it causes internal bleeding, even at a low reading.. My doctor said that all of the blood thinners would react the same for me, so tell me what do I do? I do take some aspirin, I watch my fibrinogen, CRP and they are all good, when in AF, my events are shorter than 24 hours, we all do the best we can. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Your doctor said that AF is a "disease of the riches" my mother had AF she certainly wasn't wealthy, I know of others that live modestly. I believe that most just plain don't know and are offering all kinds of reasons and remedies, I have ceased listening to most "experts". Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Stephen; A very good read about pacers, I have a pacemaker which was implanted in 1999, mine was implanted because a couple of times when going back into NSR after an event of AF I almost blacked out, I happened to be in my doctors office when this happened, my heartrate took a nose dive and I almost flat lined for a few seconds, I started to black out but never did. Since the implant this doby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Seven-time major champion Arnold Palmer underwent a procedure Monday to install a pacemaker implant to correct an abnormal heartbeat. “Arnold Palmer had successful pacemaker implant surgery today at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh to correct an abnormal heartbeat,” said a post on Palmer’s website. “He will remain in the hospital for observation overnight and is expected to be releasedby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was watching Dr. Oz last night and he talked about aspirin, he said if you feel any symptoms of a possible heart attack to take a aspirin immediately, he said to chew it so that it gets into the blood stream quickly. He also said if anyone has any stomach issues with aspirin then make sure that you drink a full glass of water with it. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well, those that are against aspirin can comment, but, for me, I cannot take Coumadin, it caused my eyes to get all bloodshot and just by using a little pressure on my fingers caused a blood sack to form. My EP said not to take Coumadin and to take a 1/2 of an adult aspirin, now some on this site believe that aspirin causes some stomach problems and internal bleeding, well, so does Coumadin andby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: You beat me to the punch, I read this article and was going to post it, Hans was ahead of the crowd. In the article there is also a protein that they are developing which may cure heart failure, I wonder if this protein could also have a shot at helping AF, they have had success with animals and are now going to trials with humans. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I remember that many years ago I was told that I was positive for the Epstein Barr virus, I never had any symptoms then or in the ensuing years. I have read that Jackie says she was being treated for Epstein Barr, I am wondering what would have led to her being treated. This following article leads to more confusion: "Most people become infected with EBV and gain adaptive immunity. In thby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Why is an ablation so difficult, that only a few doctors are proficient in doing it? Even the best have to do a second or perhaps third ablation, many posters here have had to do so. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
William: Do you put the Lugol on the affected toenail or are you taking it internally or maybe both? Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
William: I agree with you about salt, the right kind however, celtic sea salt, even on this board it is said not to use very much salt, the salt to potassium ratio. I use celtic sea salt, Dr. Brownstein is my doctor and has written a book on salt and why we need it. I get my potassium from food not supplements, I do eat meat, not raw however, lots of fruits and veggies. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Nancy: I saw my EP this morning and asked him about my fast heartbeat after my afib episode terminates and going into NSR. He said it could be flutter, the only way to know would be to wear a monitor or go immediately to ER and get a ECG and have it sent to him, this I will do, so that I know once and for all what it is. He said there are meds for this, I would guess a beta blocker, don'by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ron: I have had a lot of dental work done the last 5 to 7 years and I have had to have my mouth "frozen", I have never had any problems with it. Since you have not had any replies, I will take the plunge, I personally would never go to Mexico and have any dental or health care work done, especially all the work you are having, sometimes the money you save isn't worth the moneyby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: Strong pulse can be bad or good, I do have a little higher BP, usually runs about 130-140/60, I do not take BP meds. I have read that the docs are changing the low BP requirements for older people, it used to be that doctors did not give BP meds to older people if their pressure wasn't 120/70, they know that older people have stiffer arteries, so the pressure will be a little higby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lynn: I have taken Rythmol for quite a number of years, but I only take 1 tab. (150Mg.) at night before bedtime. I am vagal and my EP suggested taking only at night, I don't take any during the day. Taking Rythmol this way doesn't affect me, if you are vagal, I don't see why one would have to take it every 8 hrs. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: Why is it that some people cannot feel their pulse in their wrists, I have always been able to, the beat is very strong. One Cardio said to me that I have a strong heartbeat, I don't know if that is good or bad. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy: This past few year or so, after an afib episode when I go into NSR, my hearthrate goes into the 90s and stays there my resting heartrate is in the sixties, this lasts for probably around 4 or 5 hours, I don't know why this happens. I will be seeing my EP on Aug. 1, so will be asking him. I don't agree that it is due to a mag./pot. problem, I take mag. and my potassium levelsby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
