Just taking drugs in general, it seems to me that if you tapered off of a drug over a long enough period of time, than you would'nt get a rebound effect.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Definitely taper down the Beta-Blocker over at least 2 weeks, if you want to stop it. I have felt the effect of stopping them, and I think I did even taper down over a week or so. When all of the sudden I had stressful situation when I was playing poker in a big hand, I got tremendous chest pains in my heart. The Heart is not used to the surge of Adrenalin that we get when Beta-Blockers are sby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am using Phillips Brand, it has Sodium Hypochlorite, which is Bleach. Is that bad?by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the information. Come to think of it, The research would be mainly being done on newer and better medical procedures to treat the condition. Probably not much in the way of trying to figure out how to cure or mediate AF naturally like this site has done.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I know that it is known that taking K+ helps with Ectopy and PAC's. Is there a certain K+ serum range that in general we are supposed to shoot for? Or do we each just try to find our own optimal range, based on trial and error? Or do we use a NA+/K+ ratio, instead of just a K+ level by itself? I was having massive Rythmic Pac's, with a K+ level of around 4.15 Now after raising myby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Some people are really sensitive to Beta-Blockers. 25mg may be a low dose on average, but it may be effecting you more than most people. Is 50 low enough to worry about? All that other stuff your taking might be effecting your Heart, just checking one of them, I found this: Although rare, Neurontin can cause irregular HR, AFIB and Bradycardia.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
You know that Beta-Blocker lower Heart Rates, right?by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
In my case, I still get alot of Ectopy (PAC's) that are moderated by balancing electrolytes. My Dr. says its coming from the Pulmonary Veins, he recommended a PVI Cryo to treat it, even though my AF is in remission. My understanding is that the PAC's come from the Pulmonary Veins, so just basing on whether or not Ectopy was going on, this would indicate that the PV's were not isby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Even if you were in NSR, the EP would stll have to purposely initiate AFIB, in order to see where to Ablate.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anybody know where I would move to in the US, to be part of any University based research into AFIB? What Med schools are specializing in AF?by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
He wouldn't do it, No way. All of the medical guidelines specifically state that Ablation is for "Symtomic AF". Even Natale has to pay attention to these medical guidelines. And this person wouldn't of even had AF. He wouldn't do it for liability issues. He might do the EP study portion, but getting insurance coverage would likely be a hurdle. The EP study is aby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just read that sometimes Doctors substitute another Blood Thinner in place when you stop the Zarelto. And then later they also stop that one. Maybe that is sort of what he was doing by going with 81mg of Aspirin. I dont know what else he might substitute with, I did read something about a rebound risk also with Warfarin.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dick Cheney did have AFIB, but that was mild compared to all the other stuff he had going on with 5 Heart Attacks. You are right about Hillary, it is an issue that's not given enough attention. I thought she should have just stayed as Senator from NY. She was tired, and kind of got pushed along into running for President, and accepting the Secretary of State job.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
What is the milligram size of your tablets? I had a Dr. who wanted me to try 200mg instead of the normal 400mg, when I voiced concern over side effects. He said 200mg still works for people.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well, this is a good conversation for me, as I was unaware of this. Sounds like a reason to stay on the Zarelto, in you were in and out of AFIB, or even had short monthly episodes. I asked my Pharmacist, and he was not worried about it, said it was rare enough that he doesn't tell people to not stop taking it because of that reason. He said you might ask your Dr. about tapering off of iby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Who has all this? Dick Cheney had Heart issues and AFIB.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Apache: That is a good point about what ownership the Dr's have in the entire process. For example, I went to a Sleep Dr. He refers me to a sleep study center, which turns out that he has partial ownership in. I then get Rx'd a CPAP machine from a company again partially owned by this Dr. The same thing is now routine with MRI's that Orthopedic Dr's order. Instead of jby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM

Interesting that the last procedure is 3 times what the first one was 12 years ago, I guess a "touch up" Ablation is not any cheaper.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have wondered this for some time, even before I joined this Forum. Anybody know? Do they get paid the same amount for doing a Cryo? I have seen the total cost of an Ablation put anywhere from 40K -100K. Anyone know how much goes to the Hospital, Practice, or individual Ablationist? I have heard that most of it goes to the Hospital, because of the overhead costs.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
I started and stopped taking it about 10 times. I just took it during episodes, and then about 10-20 days after the episodes ended. Nobody ever said anything to me about a rebound effect. I never noticed anything different when I stopped taking it. You might try doing a Google search on it, like this one. I did see discussion about it. It looks like there was a "Black Box Warninby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
It sounds you suggested the question to him about the rebound effect. Is that right? I have never heard of a rebound effect from Xarelto, who else here has heard of that? I have heard about it with Aspirin Maybe you could taper it down. That is a good question for the Board. But what does your Dr. want you to do about the rebound threat?--Never stop taking the drug? Does anyone have any stats on who has done a large Number of Cryo's? Or who are the top Cryo Dr's in the country. My Doctor did 70 of them, Apaches did 25. Also does it make that much difference how many RF Ablations a Dr. has done, if they are now performing a Cryo on you? Did Natale really do 8000 RF Ablations? and how many Cryos has he done? How much money does he make from doby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
My Ep Dr. said that about a third of all Ablations worldwide are now Cryo. It is especially popular in Europe. Good success is being reported.by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Prior to my recovery to NSR, which did not include an Ablation, I also had issues related to memory, and feeling a little "off". All of the sudden going on 4 medications, having a multiplicity ECV's, and enduring all of the AFIB, most certainly had an negative impact. The waters were muddied as how I could know exactly what is going on with responding to multiple medications takby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good question about cutting yourself. Maybe their is a test that can be done to see if the drug is even effective for you. I wonder if a test like the PT/INR that Warfarin users had to use, would tell you if Xarelto was therapuetic for you?by The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM
After just skimming through the study, and thinking off the top of my head, it seems to me that unless there was some serious complication from an inexperienced Ablationist, then this effect would be similar across the board for all Ablationists that used similar tools. Maybe Dr's that used techniques that had less burn lines, would have less of this effect. It's a good question thougby The Anti-Fib - AFIBBERS FORUM

George: I didn't really use a Dr. to get my Exatests done. I just called the Exatest people, and had them mail me a kit. I took the samples myself. They don't really like to do it that way, but they have 4 times in the past for me. All I had a Dr. do was write the Rx for the Exatest.
