Yes - of course, Murray. I was generalizing... all packaged and processed foods typically contain added sodium. In the case of packaged meats for preserving, I have no experience with that since my grocer buys from local farmers so I'm totally out of the loop when it comes to that caveat. Thanks. The sodium added there, for that purpose I would think, is minor compared to that added for tby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Doug and Murray - when one is on warfarin, they can take the K2MK7 but in doses that are less than 100 mcg since interference has been found in doses above that. Obviously, everyone will be slightly different so if on warfari and taking MK7, you'll need frequent INR evaluations to make sure that the MK7 dosing is low enough to permit a stabile INR in the correct range. There is a study thaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nick - I would doubt if you can reach 5 grams of magnesium intake daily... maybe some can, but most cannot and we typically don't recommend that at all.. Go slowly so you don't overshoot and end up with diarrhea and lose critical electrolytes. Did you read here that 5 grams of Mg a day was advised? Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I can't wait to see the rebuttals from the Functional Medicine community on this one. Sounds like another whitewash although I haven't read the complete study to learn if it is well-designed or not.by Jackie - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Anne - When I was an active afibber, I avoided all beverages that contained any amount of caffeine. After my ablation, I began to drink green tea again because I like it and I like the idea of the antioxidant properties. A consideration for purists, though, is that white tea is a healthier option because of far less fluoride content found naturally in all tea... black, having the highest quaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Reet - The puified versions of Nattokinase should be totally free of vitamin K. Therefore, if you are wanting to help prevent arterial calcifications, then it is necessary to use the K2 MK7 supplement.... see recent post titled Calcifications. Sorry you continue to have the AF breakthroughs... Have you investigated the magnesium, potassium and low sodium factor to help control this?by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Chuck.... I'll be checking out your link shortly. My computer was in the ER and I'm backlogged but I'll get to it. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nick - why are you taking calcium?.... this needs to be looked at immediately.. How much what's the Ca to Mg ratio? Have you been told that when taking tikosyn, it's important to keep your potassium levels up? Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mackey - The patented amino acid chelate version of magnesium glycinate (labeled as Albion process) is typically what we recommend because it doesn't rely on stomach acid to break down and become usable. Rather this form accesses the blood stream directly when it reaches the small intestine where it needs no further reaction... providing the receptors in the intestinal lumen are not blockeby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

I'm a 'treated' hypothyroid patient...complete with goiteroid tissue and nodules... thanks to being treated with Synthroid for 10 years. Armour thyroid has helped my numbers to be in the normal range but I am far from normal insofar as symptoms. That said, I have used at least 600-800 mg magensium glycinate (Albion patented product) and drink the magnesium bicarbonate water forby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve - For the very reasons you write your post here, I wrote the observational report The Strategy based on my personal experiences following a successful ablation... but at year 4, I began to experience one or two AF breakthroughs a year. The fact that you ate buffet food is a huge signal that you are low on the critical electrolytes that your heart needs to be able to function properly. Inby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
In another recent thread on IC calcium, this information was offered regarding the use of K2 MK7... note the increased dosage used. Josiah.. I realize you are discussing Intracellular levels of calcium as a result of your Exatest but since this measures equivalent magnesium stores in heart cells might it not seem reasonable to consider previous discussions we've had on elevated levels oby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Bill - after my ablation 8 years ago, I resumed my supplement protocol...magnesium, potassium CoQ10 etc as soon as I could move around in my hospital room. I went home with the Life Watch monitoring system for a month (I think) and nothing like PACs or PVCs show up on those transmissions. If you didn't supplement prior to your ablation, now would be a good time to start following theby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Eddie - most likely, once you become totally replete in the essential electrolytes and other supportive nutrients, your muscle cramping will no longer occur. Cramping is a symptom of low magnesium. It takes time to replete magnesium and in some individuals, they remain refractory....so it becomes an individualized project which involves tinkering with various dosing of each of the nutrients. Your first clue is your statement that when you eat a salty restaurant item, you get ectopics.... so you'll need to start with optimizing magnesium first and then adding more potassium and cutting back on sodium..... Hi Sam - The solution for me with the runny nose was to use far less (micrograms) initially than you are using and ramp up very slowly… It took me several years of inching my way up to avoid the nose and skin breakouts… apparently from the bromide detox. Just as a reminder - Hans has reported over the years that being on warfarin isn't a guarantee that one won't have MI or stroke. I recall he has posted that about 50% of all heart attack and stroke victims are actually on warfarin at the time of their incident according to several clinical trials. Peggy – Thanks for your excellent testimonial and more support showing Digoxin is “The Medicine from Hell” as Hans offered in his report.
