Mike - as I mentioned previously, I'd stop the taurine and fish oil and when you get settled down with the drugs, then introduce one or the other separately. Just as a side thought: Be sure the fish oil is the pharmaceutical grade, molecularly distilled type from one of the highly regarded producers of really pure products like Nordic Naturals or Carlson's.... Jake - during my 8 year afib journey, I went to the ER a few times. The first was early on.. like my second event... scary, so I went. It certainly was an eye opener and expensive. When I arrived in the ER, they did a Cardizem IV for chemical conversion, but said I converted to NSR before the drug had a chance to work... however, they kept me for several days for observation, tests, etc. Expeby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Jake - if you check some of the websites listing the properties of flecainide, you'll see that the max dose is 400 mg. Most doctors don't push to that level and keep it around 300 mg/ in 24 hours. At the time I was introduced to flecainide, which was at least 10 years ago, it was a requirement to hospitalize the patient because of the potential adverse effects. Mike - Taurine is a very benign nutrient... but taurine is also known to lower blood pressure. It's recommended that you take with food. Since you have experienced symptoms that you seem to link to either taurine or fish oil, as you commented, you should stop using both. William - you're correct... Dr. Sears' philosophy on carbs is not accurate according to the insulin experts. Mike - there's a lot of wisdom in the statement you offer: ..."I'm convinced that if I had refused all medication and just worked harder on getting my magnesium/potassium/sodium balanced out that I'd be much better off." While this isn't on the Ubiquinol form, it does emphasize the need for higher dosing of CoQ10 in general, depending on the condition being addressed. CoQ is peak in the body at age 21. No - that's true. There is concern that flecainide alone can promote the 1:1 flutter.
