Isabelle, Peggy makes a good point... often diets are lacking in critical nutrients just by the sheer restriction of food intake or serving size although copious amounts of nonstarchy veggies are rarely restricted. Losing weight is really about fat burning via exercise rather than cutting food intake down to a meager daily allotment. Be sure you get plenty of the foods that provide magnesium anby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Curt - it's been noted that if a good deal of adipose tissue accumulates in the midsection, then the crowding effect of the organs there, stomach, heart, lungs and diaphragm may cause an irritated vagus nerve. If the vagus is continually impinged upon or irritated, it can be a trigger. Tom - over the years there seems to be a consistent agreement that weight loss does help. There are other factors that can help as well such as being mindful of the critical electrolytes that the body needs to maintain normal sinus rhythm (NSR). When those become low or imbalanced, in some people, the result can be arrhythmia. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mike - I'm certainly sorry to read your post. A couple things come to mind... the most important is that diabetics are known to be magnesium deficient and this can occur for a variety of reasons. Magnesium deficiency and constipation both are known symptoms of AF. If you scroll down through the recent posts, there is a topic titled: Observational Report Available. As for the safety of Omega 3 fish oils, the best argument I can offer is that which comes from Barry Sears PhD in his observations about dosage and one which I'm using as a reference in my soon-to-be-completed observational report.
